View Full Details of Argyles Care HomeAll the staff are friendly and caring and do all they can for our mum. A shout out to one lady this week for her help and encouragement in helping mum build her confidence in learning to manage using her new power chair to give her independence around the home. Thanks x
Dad stayed at the home for palliative care for over 2 months and died there. most staff seemed amazing. but communication was rather poor in relation to me providing feedback to the home, the manager only reacted to the feedback rather than proactively meeting the family sooner. received a call saying my dad passed away , 'now i will pass you over to someone else as it's the end of my shift,' which is not professional. was then asked if we wanted to see my dad. this could have been discussed with us before hand. feel the home could do a lot more to involve families in their patient's care. felt under pressure to see my dad on the day of his death.
My sister was provided with palliative care at the Argyles from April to August 2024, this was a very difficult time for my sister and our family but we are extremely grateful for the genuine support, kindness, care and friendship the whole team provided. At the most difficult times, the team helped us mark and celebrate family events, supported us in making precious memories and they spent quality time with my sister showing her love, friendship, having fun and laughs alongside managing her declining health, complex needs and medication meaning that despite being bed bound and having limited communication, the Argyles team found ways to be there for my sister and to make her time at Argyles as comfortable as possible and to make her smile. A big thank you to the Argyles team/family.
I would like to take this opportunity to say that the staff at the car home are always polite and friendly. My mum seems happy which makes me happy. I went to an event there for Bupa's 40th birthday, they had a singer come in and I thought it was fantastic, well organised and the buffet afterwards was fantastic too. I think the chefs do an amazing job.
My Dad has received so, so much care in 2024 and has absolutely thrived mentally in the last year. Although he had been taken very poorly at one stage, once he had returned from hospital staff couldn't have been kinder. Their expertise was so much appreciated. It's one thing to provide friendship and another to deliver the kind of help he needed to recover. Everyone creates such a family team that I do not have to worry when I can't visit. My Dad loves it there and although he doesn't join in the huge amount of activities offered he couldn't be happier. That peace of mind is priceless. How can you thank these people enough?
Very good afternoon entertainment. Friendly staff. Residents were joining in with the singing.
Very nice people! They all go the extra mile to make my mother comfortable. They all deserve a medal.
My husband came for 2 weeks of respite care initially for a break but he opted to stay here. The staff are always kind and helpful and he was made to feel welcome despite his reservations.
I was admitted following emergency surgery. However, there was no room available. The management and maintenance staff arranged for an activities room to be cleared and arranged into a bedroom within 36 hours of the request for care. Although my wife has been a resident since October 2021 and I am well known here, I was treated with the same care, dignity, and friendship as the other residents. Where the layout, decor, and facilities may not be the most modern, the staff make all the difference and do their best to meet resident's needs. The main dishes are very good but the range/variety of vegetables and evening desserts is limited. It is not what we have in life but who we have in life that matters.
What great fun we had at BUPA Fest Argyles, the residents were helped outside or into the dining room to enjoy lovely food and outside entertainment. The weather was good and the staff worked very hard arranging everything and even joining in as 'pretend' band members. An enjoyable day and already looking forward to the next event.
Went with Dad and a group of residents to see a brass band in the local park this Sunday. It was arranged by the home. We had perfect weather. It was great to meet some of the residents and their family members. It was good to hear some of the resident's families talk to my dad and let him pet their dogs when they visit. All very well organised by the home. They provided a delicious picnic for us all. A well-earned cup of tea was offered to all when we got back to the home. Dad loved it!
I would like to thank the staff who organised and helped to take the residents to the local park. We enjoyed a lovely afternoon with lovely weather, the food for the picnic and my auntie really enjoyed the brass band. Thank you all again.
I would like to say it was such a relief to get here from the hospital. Such a lovely greeting from the staff who put me into a most comfortable bed. I then had some cups of tea and lunch. I had the best sleep ever that night. Thank you all so very much.
My husband has been at Argyles Care Home for 4 weeks now and my family and I are so happy and thankful. He is being well cared for and all his needs are met. He has definitely improved and responds well. I visit daily and always have a smile and a work of welcome, updating me on my husband's condition from staff.
The Argyles Care Home has a welcoming, friendly and homely environment.
I was so touched by the kindness of the staff member who was feeding my mum. He takes care and it is really appreciated.
Overall experience good except for a few problems which now have been resolved. I have always been treated with dignity and find all the staff very helpful and understanding. Management excellent and always ready to help with anything. Excellent food and drink varied menu, maintenance person very helpful. We find that all the staff work as a team but too many to mention them all and would recommend Argyle Care Home to loved ones and friends.
My dad never wanted to come into a care home of any shape or form. To start with, I was hesitant, but by week two, I saw just how tentative the whole team of care were with Dad down to the chef! Thank you, Argyles. I would highly recommend you to anyone I knew who needed to move loved ones to Argyles.
My father spent his last few weeks in the palliative care room at the Argyles Care Home. The staff were very helpful and caring to my father and also his friends and family who came to visit. The family who made this room possible called the staff the Argyle angels and I second that wholeheartedly. This review doesn't come close to the warmth I feel for the Argyle rest home.
I have always found the staff really friendly, helpful and understanding. The care my mum is getting his first class and I couldn't ask for more.
