View Full Details of Thatcham Court Care HomeMy husband came to this lovely home late February, beginning of March. Unfortunately he was not there long as he had a couple of trips to the hospital with a couple of infections. Whilst at Thatcham, the caring was was excellent. They did what the could to make him comfortable especially in his final days. My family and I would like to say a BIG THANK YOU to the team for looking after my husband, father and grandfather.
For the past two years, our mother has been a resident here, and the care she has received has been nothing short of exceptional. Now, as we navigate the incredibly difficult journey of palliative care, we have found comfort and reassurance in the unwavering dedication of the entire team. Every single staff member has been exactly what we needed-compassionate, supportive, attentive, and highly skilled. Their diligence and professionalism shine through in every moment, yet it's their genuine kindness and warmth that have truly made all the difference. We have never had to question the level of care our mother has received-it has been outstanding from every department, every shift, every individual. This experience has taught us that the small things really don't matter when the big things-dignity, respect, and love-are handled so beautifully. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to each and every one of you. Your work is truly invaluable.

Thatcham Court has provided a caring home for my Mum. They have been very kind and considerate of her needs and have kept the family well-informed of any concerns. I have felt included in any decisions and Mum has benefitted from this approach in my opinion. Thank you.
My mother stayed at this care home for nearly four years and was very happy there. Any small concerns over that time were dealt with quickly and efficiently. I've always found the staff to be professional, caring, welcoming and available to talk to when you need them. The care home has a nice garden area and the activities on Clover when Mum could take part were varied and fun. I would recommend this care home and the staff on both Clover and Bluebell floors not forgetting the reception staff! My only negative which would be with BUPA itself would be the fees and in particular, the percentage they went up every year which I've found were considerably more than other care homes. I cannot fault the staff at Thatcham Court however and wish them the best for the future.
I would like to thank the Care Home for giving my husband a very good Christmas time. Although he is less able to mobilise and chat the staff are very good at making him comfortable and keeping him happy. They pop in regularly, even when I am visiting him. He is comfortable, happy and at home in the care home and has many friends, staff and other residents. Thank you.
Reception staff courteous and welcoming. Poppy staff - caring and attentive and there seems to be good interaction with staff and residents. Good hygiene levels and the floors smell fresh. Did not see food so can't comment. Keep up the good work.
Visiting my friend in the home, she arrived here on Tuesday 2nd of July 2024. Lovely welcoming staff, all smiles. My friend was happy, it pleased me to see her smiling. I asked her if she was pleased to be there and she said yes, very happy. Comfortable room, very clean, all facilities and safety and security around, all doors with an entry code. Very happy the staff are always ready to answer your requests. In all a lovely home. I hope when the time comes that I will need to be looked after this is where I would like to be.
Everyone is genuinely lovely. We chose Thatcham Court Care Home as it was local and all the family can visit - even the dog! The facilities and the people make this a special place and we know that dad/grandad is being well looked after.
My husband has just spent his second year in the home and his treatment is still first class. The carers, laundry staff and housekeepers are great and will chat with you if they have time.
Thatcham Court Care Home was my first choice. I am extremely pleased my husband is settled and happy there.
The happy and caring atmosphere of the whole home is always a pleasurable experience when we come to see my sister. There is always something going on and the staff always have the guests' interests at heart. Please may this continue. Thank you.
My mum is treated really well, and I feel reassured that her well-being is top of their priority. The staff are amazing, kind and thoughtful and put on many activities to keep all the residents happy, busy and stimulated. The grounds of the home are beautifully kept, and it is always a pleasure to walk around them. I really enjoy the days when families are encouraged to go in and join in the fun. It is so lovely to see staff, residents and their families spending time together and having a good time. I would recommend Thatcham Court to anyone looking to find a place where the care is first-rate, and it feels like a family while you are there.
I come in every Wednesday to visit my lovely Mum. She was in the lounge which was full of residents. Some of them are normally sitting quietly when I visit, but on this day the colourful sheet came out and the lounge was alive with laughter, smiles and residents participating with laughter. Pure joy!
We have been so pleased with the care since Mum came here in January. Everyone has been helpful and shown compassion. Our only slight sadness is that no one has been able to persuade Mum to sit in her chair. We used to get her at home and she was so much better. All good! Thank you.
Generally very good. Thatcham Court is always very clean and the staff welcoming and friendly. Mum is generally well looked after and if there are any incidents eg: falls and bumps, we are informed. The only issue I have is that often Mum has no hearing aids in when we call and she is very hard of hearing.
The staff are all very caring. Any issues are dealt with immediately and nothing is too much for them. Care is very person-centred and attention to each individual is excellent. Dad seems very settled into his new family. Very warm atmosphere in this home.
Knowledgeable and very caring staff; always have time for queries or a chat. They are very patient, caring and compassionate with Mum and are careful in manoeuvring her so as not to hurt or distress her. Great teamwork. The food is excellent and they prepare what Mum likes to eat and drink.
My mum is a full-time resident here, she has early-stage dementia and serious mobility issues. The home caters for all her medical and psychological needs, the carers are excellent, all lovely, caring and compassionate and treat the residents as people, not just patients. The management and admin staff are similarly great. Overall, a clean, bright and airy home where my mum's happy to be!
When my dad moved into the home he was told he couldn't walk and didn't eat much, now a month down the line my dad is walking with the help of a zimmer frame and eating well. 10/10 for the staff for what they are doing.
