View Full Details of Longlea Nursing HomeI have found the care at Longlea to be excellent. My husband has advanced dementia and nursing needs. The carers are all lovely, and he is treated with kindness. There is always a nurse on duty. They and all the staff are brilliant, and this gives me peace of mind. The home is small and has a caring, family feel. It is clean and well run.
Everything is good, no problems. Very satisfied in all areas.
My mother is extremely happy with the overall care.
I have been coming to Longlea Nursing Home for the last six months. I have experienced a great sense of respect from the staff and administration. They are doing a great job of taking care of the residents with dignity and respect. I also have had a choice of having meals with them. They are well prepared. The rooms are very clean. I must say it is my favourite care home. Wishing them God's blessings!
I find that the nursing home and staff are very good, friendly, and helpful.
Mum came to Longlea as an emergency placement as 24-hour home care was withdrawn in November 2023. Longlea have been amazing. All staff are kind and accepting of resident needs. Very friendly and helpful. Fun, good-humoured with residents.
My friend is a long-term resident of Longlea Care Home. She has been happy and well cared for at the home during this time. Following a short hospital stay recently, she has rebounded beautifully with the care and support of the staff. She is socialising well and taking more exercise in response to the encouragement of the staff.
Longley has undergone a number of personnel changes throughout 2023 which did, in my opinion, have an impact on the overall experience. However, I have noticed that the atmosphere, camaraderie and communication by the carers have visibly improved and there are more inclusive, fun activities planned with the residents in the lounge which is really encouraging. There seems to be more stability in terms of staffing and everyone seems far more settled and happy which is great to see.
Longlea took my mother on an hour's notice. She received empathetic, loving care. Her medical issues were resolved and she was very content during her stay here.
My sister was in Longlea Nursing Home for 2 months for end-of-life care. A distressing time for her and us was ameliorated by the lovely staff there. It seemed that each one, regardless of role, took personal responsibility for trying to ease the suffering of the patient and visitors, often going out of their way to do so. If I could describe Longlea in one word it would be: kind.
My experience with this care home began in 2020 when my mother became a resident. The atmosphere was cheerful, serene and efficient. There was a wide range of visiting entertainers and activities. Then Covid arrived. The staff were heroic through lockdowns, and we seemed to be returning to normal by 2022, but it appears all was not well. So many familiar faces disappeared, but when the excellent manager and two deputies left with little warning, the atmosphere became very peculiar. Staff were reluctant to speak about the change to the point of secrecy. At this point, my mother's mental health deteriorated, and I was left trying to judge if her descriptions of poor treatment were true or delusional. At times, she was fearful, especially of the night staff. I now visit another resident since my mother passed away. It seems the home is turning a corner after the dramatic change of personnel as this resident doesn't voice any grumbles. Might finances stretch to providing some entertainment and stimulation for residents.
Dad is happy here and well cared for. Several months ago, we had an issue which was immediately dealt with. Very satisfactory.
