View Full Details of St Mark's Care HomeSuperb, high and excellent standard of care and kindness shown at all times truly home from home. My aunt is very happy and content and it is good to know that she is so well cared for. The nurses and carers are like family to her.
My brother has been very happy in the home. The staff have been very patient with him. He likes to join in with the activities. Everything is in one place so it is not difficult to get to. Thank you to you all.
The best review of a care home must surely be from a resident. To arrive at St Mark's to see my mother smiling and to hear her say " I love it here", is the very best recommendation. These are truly angels working within the dementia unit who treat the residents with care and respect. My mother has been a resident for more than two years and despite arriving to St Mark's recovering from a fractured hip at 98, staff at St Mark's helped her reach 100 years young- soon to be 101!
I can't thank St Marks enough for accommodating us at short notice for respite for my Mum, from the first time I was shown around the home by a lady who was so very helpful, I could feel the warmth of the home at every corner. When Mum went into the home for respite the whole team showed her compassion and understanding and was also very patient with her and us. The nurse was amazing and I have to say that goes for the whole team including, housekeeping, reception and of course all the dedicated carers. They made Mum and us feel very welcome, nothing was too much trouble!
Throughout the 2 3/4 years my cousin was in Eton Ward she was treated with professional care, kindness, and understanding. Her comfort was paramount, and all the staff members gave her a happy life as possible, and her slow decline both physically and mentally was acknowledged. From reception, unit staff, and the laundry staff, everyone gave her consideration and made her feel a valued person in her own right and the weekly signing, dog visits, and crucial visits of passing staff made her day to day bed bound experience no real burden. My cousin's last days were pain-free and dignified, always immaculate. The staff often sat with her. We really appreciate their splendid care and the fact that they made sure she did not die alone.
My husband is having his first respite placement and we are very happy that St Mark's was able to assist with this. Their excellent care and support have been invaluable to us both. The staff are attentive to our needs and are very friendly. We hope that this could be the first of many respite stays. Thank you all.
My mum spent two weeks respite at St Mark's, and honestly, I couldn't fault a single thing. My mum is extremely anxious, and we were worried how she would get on. All staff were so friendly and helpful, and when we visited, my mum smiled, this was a street-free time which we needed as a family. Thank you to everyone who had anything to do with helping our mum! 100% happy to use this home again when it's needed during Mum's dementia journey.
My friend was transferred to St Mark's after spending 3 weeks in hospital. When visiting her I found the staff very welcoming and friendly and thought it was a safe and caring environment. We particularly enjoyed on warmer days sitting in the beautiful gardens.
The attention given to my friend was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They were all pleasant and helpful when needed. Can't praise the staff enough.
Friendly staff and they are so helpful.
Mum has been at St Mark's since late 2023. She transferred there from hospital where she had been for 10 weeks. Prior to that, Mum had wanted to stay at home with carers, but that wasn't working and Mum had been lonely and depressed for many years. The transition to St Mark's was difficult, and it took a few months to settle. However, there is now a very marked difference in Mum. The staff get her up and dressed and she spends time in the dayroom. When the weather is nice she spends time in the beautiful gardens which she enjoys very much. The staff are all very kind and care for my Mum very well. The last time I visited she told me she felt very lucky to be staying there. She is more like Mum of 7 or 8 years ago, no longer depressed or lonely. I am more than happy with the care Mum receives. Thank you.
The staff are excellent, very caring and kind, couldn't ask for more. My husband has settled so well.
Daytime staff and nurses have provided a loving, safe and caring environment for our loved one. Windsor Unit has been our loved one's home for four years and every staff member who cares for our loved one is friendly and respectful, we are informed of any changes and can see that our loved one trusts the staff. They are supportive to us when the days get difficult and challenging. We are more than happy with the care received.
The staff have been very kind and helpful in every way. I have benefitted from my time here in my recovery from a broken femur. My only concern is that it is very noisy a times, particularly from other people's televisions and conversations. Also, other residents shouting and banging at night. The time spent on the grounds was particularly enjoyable. Overall a good experience.
We attempt to visit every two weeks but only on a Sunday so are unable to comment on activities as we haven't seen any. In the early days of our visits, we noted that our relative was often unshaven with un-washed hair and in need of a manicure. However, this has improved in the last several months. Some members of staff are particularly helpful when we visit for which we are very grateful.
Mum has been here now for 4 months and I have found the care team very welcoming and extremely professional, mum had suffered quite a lot of trauma before moving here and understandably will take a while to settle and recognise her situation so with the help of the care team and my family we will do everything to make her comfortable.
I can not put into words how much my family and I appreciate all the help and care given to our mum on a daily basis, she always appears happy and relaxed when we visit her. She will often say herself how lucky she feels to be where she is! We recently celebrated a great milestone birthday with mum, which was a wonderful occasion, the staff on the Windsor unit couldn't have done more for us to make the day extra special. Many thanks to all of them.
When she was first admitted to St Mark's, we were all filled with dread as to how she would cope away from us all, but that fear changed to relief as we saw how she was treated. The staff from bottom to top all appeared to make it their main aim to make sure she quickly settled and became part of the happy group of residents, nothing was too much trouble and the personal care she received was outstanding. the staff are excellent and always had time for us family members as well as their priority, the residents, completely recommended.
My partner has been in St Mark's for 18 months. I visit every day and I'm very happy with the care he receives. He is very content here.
My mother is in the specialist dementia unit, where she has lived for 4.5 years. I am consistently impressed by the quality of nursing care, the attention to detail, the personal relationship the cares have with my mother and particularly the low turnover of staff which means that my mother's individual needs are understood. I can't thank the team at St Mark's Care Home enough.
