View Full Details of The HeightsActivity team always make me feel wanted, happy and secure with my husband. It helps me to cope with his dementia which is very hard to manage at times. I can feel anxious but they help reverse that and make me happy.
Visiting a friend, very welcoming, excellent staff. Over a period and a birthday party for a friend.
I was honoured to be asked to be a judge in The Heights Talent Show. It was a most enjoyable event for us all. The activities team worked hard to put on a really good show and the participants were very good and you could see the joy in their faces and how happy they were to take part. The bar was high and I wanted to give everyone ten points! My mum really enjoyed the day and mostly we all had a lot of fun. Thank you to everyone for putting this great event together.
I was immediately impressed when I walked into The Heights Care Home. Greeted as I arrived with a smile. The place was warm and clean. There was a nice atmosphere, it was friendly and caring.
I have visited The Heights on several occasions. In the past I have visited many care residencies. The Heights is one of the best care homes I have visited. Its spacious lounge is well laid out with comfortable furnishing and tasteful decorations. Patients' rooms are kept clean and tidy. The whole building and gardens are kept in excellent condition. Every member of staff shows kindness, compassion, patience and understanding when dealing with residents. They are kind and friendly to visitors. They deserved to be recognised for their commitment to what must be a very difficult job.
My husband has been at The Heights for almost six months. It was hard to let others help him, but I soon realised that he's got a lovely home, where he can be loomed after safer than I could keep him. The caring staff are fantastic. In fact, all of the staff are great, especially the friendly receptionists and the excellent entertainment manager. I definitely recommend this home.
Lovely summer BBQ this afternoon. Good entrainment, food and drink. Thank you to all the staff. Care here is always good, catering for all care and nursing needs. My dad is happy even though his family cannot be with him all the time.
The summer BBQ was a great afternoon with the chef and his team of helpers doing a lovely spread. There was a very good celebrity impersonator who managed to get the residents and guests to sing away and stir up fond memories. Every member of staff went over and above their duties to ensure the residents were well attended to and had a lovely time.
The most impressive (and important) thing about this care home is the staff. From my very first visit, they have all shown a high level of compassion and care and do all that they can to make the experience as positive as it can be for both residents and visitors. They make the effort to get to know the residents and their families and always make you feel welcome when you visit your loved one. A particular thank you to the entertainment team for the weekly Bingo sessions that coincide with my visit to my Dad (and for saving me a seat every week!) It is a great comfort to know that my Dad is being cared for by such a friendly and compassionate team.
My wife only entered The Heights under the illusion of being a respite visitor as she refused it being a permanent issue. After that she was told she couldn't go back home for safety reasons due to her condition. She wasn't happy but has accepted the situation, helped by the compassionate staff.
The Heights is like a second home to me, with the wonderful staff a second family since my husband became a resident 2 and a half years ago. He lives in his own silent world and is unable to walk, but he is treated with much kindness, respect, patience and understanding. I cannot thank everyone enough. The current managerial team are very approachable and have made considerable improvement to the running of the home. Relatives meetings are more frequent, with family members encouraged to attend so issues can be discussed and our voices heard. Increasing the number of carers in each house is often raised. The activity team continue to entertain the residents with their fun and games and more weekend activities have been introduced. We were recently treated to an amazing group of singers who sang well-known songs. My own family and I are so grateful to the heights for making us feel so welcome with their warmth and friendship. A huge thank you to everyone, you are all very much appreciated.
This particular home feels more cosy and intimate than others. Particular positives are the activities, which occur every day and normally include residents from all the houses, and includes those that cannot partake but are included for stimulation. This is due to the activities manager's positive and interactive attitude. Other outstanding notes are the carers and their positive, happy attitude to residents, whether bedbound or not. Without these positives I may have chosen a different home, but am glad that this is where my wife resides and would give it 10/10 for these items alone.
My Father, age 103 spent the last 6 months of his life in The Heights, House 5. The staff of House 5 were amazing, caring people, who showed respect and kindness to my Dad. He formed a great relationship with several of them/ The carers and nurses work so well together. The residents are encouraged to be out of bed and to join in with meals and the excellent entertainment downstairs. This nursing home is excellent. I would particularly like to mention two members of the care staff, two members of the nursing staff, and the entertainer and express sincere thanks to them and all the staff.
My husband was admitted to The Heights in January of this year he was immediately made welcome and felt at home. Myself and all the members of the family were treated with kindness and respect. He gradually deteriorated untiled he became bed-bound and nonverbal but was always kept clean and the staff went above and beyond when trying to feed him. It was easy for me to feel part of a second family and feel there are not enough words to express my thanks and gratitude for all they did.
We like to thank each one of the carers who looked after my husband. We appreciate the patience and dignity with which they took care of my husband. We recommend the Heights to any future residents.
Imaginary Bus Tour. What a great afternoon we all had was so much fun with everyone singing and laughing. Our granddaughter came to see her grandad was her first time and she was happy to see what a wonderful place he was in, we have to thank the entertainment team for making the afternoon so funny we didn’t stop laughing, you left everyone on the Bus wanting more!
My mum is well looked after. The staff are wonderful and very helpful. I am always updated with my mum's care. The Heights is an excellent home.
My mother was a resident at The Heights for sixteen months. In that time, the care given was exemplary in every aspect. She was happy. Also, the care and support given to me and the information regularly given to me were gratefully received.
We had a lovely visit with my friend. We always find the staff very helpful on our arrival, very welcoming. My friend says she is being very well looked after and certainly looked good on her 95th birthday today. Many thanks.
When you enter The Heights you come into a warm and friendly atmosphere. The reception staff there are always ready to help. The activities are well delivered. The basic care of the residents, to ensure they are clean and comfortable, is good. However, the staff have several duties other than doing their best for each person. As important as it is to keep detailed records up to date, a lot of time is spent writing these whilst on duty. Time that I feel could be spent exploring ways to communicate more with those in their care, wherever possible. The activities are well delivered.
