View Full Details of Hulcott Nursing HomeMy husband received the best care throughout his time at Hulcott Nursing Home. Staff have treated him and myself fantastically and I can not fault any of them. I can definitely recommend this care home to anyone who needs the love and care we experienced.
Hulcott has been a very welcoming environment not only for my mum but for all the family and friends. It's been such a huge weight taken off my shoulders. Thank you Hulcott for all you do.
My old friend has been at Hulcott for 5 months. She has blossomed with having all the lovely staff around. The activities she had been encouraged to get involved in have been brilliant for her mental health. She looks healthy as now she gets good food and plenty of it. She now says Hulcott is home now which is lovely to hear.
I'm so happy with the nursing home for my dad. He has settled in nicely and the staff are so nice and helpful.
Our experience has been good. Very helpful and caring for my mum. Always happy to discuss Mum's care and anything to help her quality of life.
Our first visit to our friend who is here. We were greeted by wonderful, helpful staff and we met the chef, who was very sociable. Our friend was warm and comfortable and it was evident that he was well cared for and the staff were very kind and attentive.
My aunt has been a resident for some months now and is physically so frail she cannot move from the bed. The staff have been very friendly and patient, coping with varying moods and managing her failing physical health and memory, and working to meet her rather limited food preferences. The activities organiser has done her best to make her feel included, visiting her room and organising birthday celebrations, which my aunt really appreciated. The manager and the weekly GP are very approachable and the receptionists easily available and helpful. Optician, dentist and audiologist visits have also been arranged. Having a second relative now also end of life but still at home, it is a relief to know that my aunt is safe and well cared for in a homely environment, day and night, with nurses on hand when required. I feel happy that my aunt will end her life here, and not in hospital.
Very pleasant setup of rooms. Staff very helpful and congenial in the main. The meals ok but the sandwiches a bit bland.
I have found Hulcott Nursing Home to be of a very good standard for the last 2 years. From reception to nurseries, care workers and cleaners and management. Their bright and friendly ways are what makes this home my choice for my wife for the last 2 years. I thank all at Hulcott for their very good work.
My experience of Hulcott has been very good. Although my wife does not participate in the activities available at Hulcott, she is both comfortable and happy. Due to her current physical and mental state, I cannot ask for anything more.
Hulcott Nursing Home has a very homely atmosphere. The staff are incredibly friendly and supportive. The activities available to the rest of the family have all been a lot of fun, creating happy memories for us all, with some very tasty cakes.
My sons and I are very pleased with the care and attention given to my wife during the 14 months that she has been at Hulcott. She arrived for assessment after being in hospital suffering from delirium in addition to dementia, and now her general health, apart from dementia, is very good thanks to the excellent care given at Hulcott. The nurses always respond quickly to any medical matters that we raise and the care assistants treat her with respect. A GP visits weekly and sees every resident monthly and in between when required, as assessed by the nurses. The daily activities are varied and brilliantly run by the wellbeing coordinator. We are very impressed with the hand-held recorders, used by the care assistants and nurses, where all aspects of care, and food and drink intake are recorded electronically, far superior to a paper-based or centrally-based system.
We have visited our friend twice in the last week or so. We have found Hulcott to have a positive happy atmosphere. The staff are invariably friendly and welcoming. We are so happy that our friend is being cared for in such a nurturing environment.
It is always difficult for a resident to leave their own home to move, however, the team at Hulcott Nursing Home has been excellent in making the move as easy as possible. This was seen especially as it was her birthday and the effort the team went to, to make it special was very much appreciated. There are always things to improve in any business but the team at the home are always open to listening and taking the appropriate actions. Well done all!
I would like to say that all staff go beyond their duty of care including reception staff, especially the wellbeing activities coordinators maybe consider a pay rise!
Mum had a wonderful 2-week respite while I went on holiday. The care, kindness and attention have been wonderful. The activities have been fantastic, Mum joined in with encouragement and never thought she would. The food was delicious. Everyone was so very caring, and happy and nothing was too much trouble. She will be back again.
I originally came here for two weeks respite but got pneumonia so I have stayed longer. The whole atmosphere has been instantly friendly and everyone is very kind. I have a delightful room and I'm very comfortable. The food is as good as any first class hotel. The dining room and lounge are comfortable and there is a lot of entertainment for those who want it. I am very happy here and feel privileged to be in such a lovely and well-ordered place.
Thank you to everyone involved in looking after my Mum so well. I know she is comfortable, content and happy. She loves the view into the garden and field where she is currently watching the lambs and sheep, the massive pheasants, squirrels and birds. She enjoys the food and all the staff are friendly and very caring. It’s a shame she doesn’t want to be involved in the activities as I know a lot of effort is made for the residents. Thank you as well for supporting me and guiding me through everything. Very much appreciated.
I was very happy with my father’s care at the home. The staff were very kind and supportive and kept my dad comfortable. They were always cheerful and caring and kept me in regular touch, particularly during his end of life care. It was a real weight off my shoulders to know he was being cared for so well.
Mum is not able to participate in many of the activities, her choice mainly, so she has a quiet existence at the home. But that existence is safe and secure, she is wonderfully looked after, cared for and loved. To be able to leave the care of Mum in the hands of such wonderful staff is such a great relief to my sister and I.
