View Full Details of Kingfishers Care HomeAt Kingfishers, the staff seem to be really pleasant and very attentive.
My Mother has been at Kingfishers for nearly one year. I am so grateful she is in such a wonderful nursing home as the staff are caring and very kind. Kingfishers have two reception rooms, and an oak panel dining room with a lovely, well-tended garden. The residents can sit out in the summer on the terrace with sun-shading umbrellas. I could live here too!
Most enthusiastic, welcoming stay. Always cheery and knowledgeable about residents' well-being. Lovely patience with residents providing constant amusements and diversion. Tireless and sympathetic. Activities are imaginative and seasonally relevant. Other occasional visitors are also very impressed. Nursing staff are extremely conscientious and familiar with conditions.
All staff have been amenable and extremely helpful.
My Mother came to Kingfishers a month ago and I cannot fault anything at the home. The carers are so caring and kind and the residents are never left alone at all times. All the staff are very friendly to all residents and to all visitors. The entertainment team are great, they do activities with the residents daily and keep them very occupied and stimulated. The good at the hone superb and they have drinks and snacks during the day as well.
My husband's two-week respite care at Kingfishers was a great success, so much so that he will be rethinking for further stays, particularly as they were able to call on their in-house GP when a medical issue occurred, which they dealt with kindly, promptly and efficiently by him and the nurses.
Reception always very friendly, very helpful and courteous. The residents appear very content and well looked after. There seem to be various activities in which all can participate and frequent sing-songs. Overall a most favourable impression was conveyed.
They look after me very well and I always feel safe. They accommodate all my visitors well.
We are very satisfied with my mum's care. The staff are lovely and my mum is very happy.
Staff have been over and above to help my friend through the difficult transition between her home and the nursing home, they have made her feel so welcome and expressed genuine love for her by physically holding her hand or giving her a much-needed hug, I have been extended the same caring courtesy allowing me to help her enjoy stability and ensuring her continued health and wellbeing.
My father was a resident of Kingfisher and they cared for him when his Parkinson's disease had become severe until the end of his life. He was always treated with great dignity and respect by the staff and kept comfortable. Now my mother is a resident of Kingfisher. She too is well looked after and happy with the care that she gets.
Mum is happy. Activities team is excellent, as is the food. People at the desk are helpful.
Have not got satisfactory answers from the care home manager, who I have emailed and spoken to several times. Need to speak to someone higher. Not happy with lots of things. Do not feel my mother is getting the correct treatment.
My dear father called Kingfishers his home for the final year of his life. Suffering from an insidious, slowly progressing case of Parkinson's, he truly needed the support and care afforded by the home. He loved the staff. They were so kind to him and he really enjoyed speaking with them, everyone from the nursing staff to the tea ladies. He was free to come and go in the early months, but in time he was able to welcome his friends for morning coffee at his home. I particularly want to thank the nursing staff who became his advocates, fighting to get him the care he needed from the NHS when it was not forthcoming. My father's needs evolved over the 12 months and Kingfishers was up to the task of adapting to those needs. He was very happy there and knew he was in the right place.
My dad has been at Kingfishers since August 2023. He has settled in really well and is comfortable and happy. Although his room isn’t the largest, it has everything he needs. He is looked after well by the carers and nurses, and the activity staff are great at keeping the residents busy and entertained. Everyone is very accommodating, kind and friendly, creating a lovely relaxed and happy environment. The food, however, isn’t consistently good and doesn’t really reflect the fees payable.
My dad is happy and very well looked after by all the staff at Kingfishers. They are very kind and caring. The activities have always been good, and my dad has been taken on a few outings, but more recently, there have been some different in-house activities that my dad has got involved with and has really enjoyed. We have also just enjoyed a Christmas Party for residents and relatives with lots of lovely food and singing entertainment. Lots of fun was had by all.
A well-managed care home where my mother has been resident for five years. She is well looked after and joins in daily activities. The recent addition of a minibus has enabled trips out of the home. In particular, it enabled mum to attend her sister's funeral with the help of carers arranged by Kingfishers.
On Monday 30th January 2023, my mother needed paramedic assistance because she suddenly passed out. The ambulance arrived in good time, and the paramedics got to work. The help from the home was fantastic - first class. Everybody helped, and before long, my mother was ok. Very impressed with the way the team at the home responded; it was an emergency, and each and every one of them treated it as such. The patience of the staff is to be admired.
My father spent two weeks at Kingfishers Home in Bourne End. He was very comfortable and happy during his stay. The staff were excellent and very caring. We have booked him in for another respite visit in March.
My mum spent 3 and a bit weeks at Kingfishers for respite. She was understandably nervous to start with as this was her first experience in a care home, but the lovely staff soon eased her mind and she settled in really quickly. The home is very well run, and has a very friendly/calming atmosphere, with activities put on to keep everyone occupied and entertained, the Jubilee party was particularly enjoyed by my mum. She was well treated and cared for by all of the team. Highly recommended.
