Amazing care for our sister, she is happy when we see or phone her, the staff always go above and beyond with her care and also for us who have many questions when we are visiting or phoning. The home is very clean, warm, comfortable and above all a safe environment for our sister.
I am writing to express my gratitude for all the help my mum receives from your staff during her time of need. I always find them very polite and sympathetic. You should be very proud of them.
Joined my dad on Saturday, September 21st for an Open Day event and had a fabulous time. It was evident that much thought, time and preparation had been undertaken. Great atmosphere, delicious food and loads of fun things to do. The singer on the second floor was brilliant! She had us all singing and dancing and we even did the Conga! All staff present were warm and inviting and were also thoroughly enjoying themselves. Thank you, we made some truly beautiful memories.
We are extremely pleased with the care and support provided to our mum at Oak House. From the moment she moved in on the 5th of July, the entire team has been incredibly attentive and compassionate. The recent refurbishment has transformed the home into a very inviting and comfortable place and the cleanliness is fantastic. Although our mum has only been a resident for a month, we wanted to thank some members of staff here to show our appreciation and spread the word about how amazing they are! Our mum is on the ground floor and we often meet a number of staff on our visits. Their professionalism and dedication have made such a significant difference in our mum's life and she feels safe, respected, and genuinely cared for, which brings us immense peace of mind. We couldn't have asked for a better place for our mum to spend this stage of her life.
My mother went to Oak House for one weeks respite care. Her feedback was that she really enjoyed her stay. She said the staff that looked after her were lovely. She felt well cared for. The only thing she didn't like so much was the food. She is of Caribbean origin and enjoys Caribbean food more than English food. She was thankful to have the opportunity to have a bath on her last day there which is something she can't have at home. Overall a positive experience. Thank you.
Visiting an old friend. We'd only ever seen our friend in their own home environment. A free spirit and strong-willed. Was so pleasantly surprised to see them, calm, happy and nicely groomed in a safe environment. The staff were genuinely so caring towards our friend and towards other residents. I particularly liked their engagement skills. Treating people with dignity is something important in this setting and close to my heart. They were trying so hard. Our friend's room was spotless. Freshly made bed, clean and tidy with no trip hazards.
Lovely care home with wonderful kind staff. They always make me feel welcome when I am visiting. My nan loves living here, she enjoys doing activities and always looks forward to the entertainment. The new sensory room is amazing and opens out into the beautiful garden where my nan often likes to sit and relax when the sun makes an appearance. I couldn't be happier knowing my nan is well cared for and most importantly she is very happy. Thank you Oak House!
I visited Oak House for their 15th-anniversary open day on Saturday the 27th of April, the staff had really put on a show, there were refreshments (even beers!), snacks, a waffle stand, games for kids (I maybe had a turn too), a Tombola, face painting, a petting zoo, a BBQ and even an ice cream truck, all free of charge. Quite impressive, the residents were all smiling and taking part, there was probably someone there from age 0-100, and the atmosphere was just buzzing the whole time, it felt like an old-fashioned Jubilee party or something, it was nice. The staff were super helpful and welcoming. Being an open day I of course got the chance to look inside and it was bright and clean and of course very warm. I am looking for a place to look after my Mother and from the local ones I've visited, this left the best impression by far.
My mum has been a resident since January 2024 and has settled in very well. We are pleased with the care she receives and the staff are always friendly and chatty, Mum calls them her very good friends which is lovely. Oak House is always clean and very well presented and looked great when it was decorated recently for Saint George's Day.
Both Mum and Dad are well cared for. They enjoy the many varied activities that they are encouraged to join in with. They mostly like the food and have even started to eat things that did not previously eat. As regular visitors, we are always made to feel welcome. The staff are very friendly and always spare the time to talk to us.
I always enjoy visiting my nan at Oak House. The staff are always so welcoming and polite. Nan is very happy there and loves the activities especially when they have singers. We always enjoy a cup of coffee and cake and chat with the lady in reception.
My father is at Oak House and everyone there is amazing with him. They joke and laugh with him but more importantly, they take good care of his well-being. They are not just great with Dad but also with us, my sister, myself and our close families. I so appreciate all the hard work they do and the fact that Dad is well looked after. It is wonderful to know that when my sister and I are not there Dad is in safe hands. I would recommend Oak House to anyone looking to place a loved one.
My sister and I are thrilled with the level of care shown to our father who has been in residence since August 2023. We can relax in the knowledge that he is being cared for, has regular meals, is warm, clean, has company and is happy. If anything untoward happens, ie a fall, sore eye or anything they feel we should know about, then we are contacted immediately and reassured that whatever has happened he is checked over by paramedics. There is always something going on to keep him stimulated and we are incredibly grateful to every single person working there. It is a difficult and often thankless job but the carers always have a smile and take time to talk to us too to make us feel comfortable. Oak House is kept in beautiful condition and we couldn’t be happier that our father is in the safest hands. We thank you all.
My grandmother loves it at Oak House. She is always well-dressed and tidy. She enjoys her meals, especially the pudding. As a family, we are always made to feel welcome and particularly enjoy the coffee and cakes in reception. All the staff are friendly and approachable and happy to talk to us when we want to.
Since my friend arrived at Oak House we have been made to feel extremely welcome. We are always greeted with a smile and a homely feel in the reception area with a lovely coffee and cake area. Staff are helpful in the unit and always offer us support. It always smells lovely and fresh and is always clean and tidy. The food always looks appetising and my friend enjoys the variety.
Everyone is so friendly and happy, feels like an extension of family. Really nice coffee area. I always feel welcome when I come. Entertainers have been good and they get everyone involved. It always smells clean. I like that we can also join with activities especially the cinema room.
I enjoyed visiting Oak House care home when I went to visit a friend who resides there. The atmosphere was very nice and the cakes and coffee at the main reception were very tasty. I have also had the pleasure of viewing the sensory room (namaste) which was very relaxing and looked very beautiful. The lounge was very clean and the staff are very nice on the ground floor.
I have visited a few care and nursing homes over the years. This one is outstanding. The care and attention my aunt receives is first-class. Every time I visit, she is always perfectly dressed. There is always a nurse or carer very close by. The food looks wonderful. There is a cafe to take my aunt to with tea and biscuits. The staff are always happy and friendly, from the receptionist to the carers and nurses, catering staff and cleaners. I cannot rate this home highly enough.
I was extremely pleased with the Santa visit that my mum received in December. It really made her Christmas - she was thrilled! Thank you to one particular lady and her family - such a thoughtful thing to do for the residents.
My mum went for respite care for the first time at Oak House. All staff, from reception, care staff, cleaners and management are all very friendly, and you can see that they all care about the people in their care. Mum was very happy while staying there, and it’s peace of mind for the family to know that she is being looked after so well - it’s like it’s a second home for Mum. Thank you all so much for all your hard work and dedication.
