Visited my father who was recently given a room at Ashby House. Lovely room, friendly helpful staff, light airy building.
Great improvement since being in here, good environment helps a lot. Happy Staff.
Just before Christmas my husband was discharged from hospital but, due to his needs, wasn't able to come home. A friend recommended Barchester Ashby House Care Home. I am just so glad that she did. From the moment I was shown around by one staff member in particular, through interview with the manager, and my various dealings with other staff, I was impressed by an atmosphere of warmth, friendliness, kindness and helpfulness. To have to find respite care just before Christmas is not easy but Ashby House stepped up to the mark making a difficult job run smoothly. My husband has been cared for wonderfully well over the past weeks, is happily settled and is full of praise for the kindness and respect shown to him by all the staff. Unfortunately, he will not be able to return home as hoped but I feel happy leaving him there knowing how he and I are treated. Getting to know staff better is a great experience, as is meeting other residents and their families - everyone is friendly and nice. I would highly recommend Ashby House.
The manager visited me in the hospital after showing my partner around Ashby House Care Home. She gave me lots of helpful information and agreed that I could go there the following day. On arrival, I was very warmly welcomed by the manager and various members of staff. I had a cup of tea and a biscuit in my room and was then given a tour of the corridors and day spaces in a wheelchair. It was then lunchtime and I had an enjoyable lunch with other residents. Throughout my week's stay, I was very well looked after. All staff were very friendly and helpful during the day and overnight. I would recommend Ashby House Care Home.
Staff are excellent at all levels - care and attention to patients amazing. Please save a place for me!
Very helpful. lovely staff. Very clean. My husband settled in straight away.
Care, kindness, compassion and love describe the end-of-life care given to my mother and the ongoing care given to my father, who is also a resident. The whole team made this very hard time as good as it could be and continues to give us support and confidence.
Barchester Ashby House Care Home has looked after my mum for over three years now, they are absolutely wonderful, everyone is caring, compassionate and friendly, I am so pleased my mum is in Ashby House. Mum, sadly, is now in respite care and the team has been marvellous at moving her to be near the nurse's station and making her welcome and comfortable and keeping me informed. Thank you so much for giving me peace of mind, it means so much.
My husband is a long-time resident - now four years. Always been very happy with care and support. No real concerns to report - always kept informed if he is not so well. Some days, recently, feel less than usual staff available but those that are available are always so kind and friendly and work so hard. When occasional visitors accompany me, they always comment on the cleanliness with no stale toilet or cooking smells and welcoming staff.
My mum had to be moved to a home in July and finding the right one was a stressful time. The team at Barchester Ashby House Care Home were amazing and from the first phone call with the administrator through to getting Mum settled was a great experience. The team really cares and have gone the extra mile to make sure that Mum was settled. The room is lovely and the facilities are well-kept and the open spaces are welcoming. Only small glitch is that the wi-fi in some rooms is not as strong and maintaining contact is not always possible. That aside, it is a great place and we are very happy Mum has a new home. I can fully recommend Ashby House.
My husband has been staying at Barchester Ashby House Care Home since early January. I find that he is getting good care from the staff. He is being kept safe which is important to me. I am happy with the standard of care and the carers are well-trained and capable. My only concern is that there seems to be a shortage of staff, resulting in residents having to wait quite a long time to be attended to, especially in the morning.
Respect and kindness shown by every singled member of staff to my father and myself have been wonderful. From the kitchen staff, housekeeping, maintenance and admin to the superb nursing staff, the professional and friendly care is first-class. Barchester Ashby House Care Home has helped the family cope with a stressful time and continues to support the family.
I find all the staff very friendly and if my dad is unwell, they contact me.
My wife was agitated and distressed prior to admission and the staff turned that around incredibly quickly. By the time of my first visit, she was calmer than she had been in months, content and actually eating again. I have nothing but praise for the staff, they are patient and kind and seem very fond of my wife. She feels safe and mostly calm again. My only criticism so far is that recently when I picked her up to take her for a hospital appointment she didn't have the right incontinence pads on so an accident in the car proved to be very messy.
When we visited her she was so happy and talkative. It was so good to see her, when she was at home was not as happy as here. She asked me about my family.
The manager and another particular member of staff are brilliant.
My friend has been in the house for more than a month. Is great to see she is happy and in good spirits. She is much calmer than before she came to this home. So glad she remembered me and called my name when she saw me.
Very helpful team and they are looking after my mum very well. Happy with the service being given.
On bringing some of my husband's long-standing friends from Norfolk. They were very impressed with the home. I am also more than pleased with the home. The entrance is really lovely.
