View Full Details of Highclere Care HomeThe staff transformed my Aunties wellbeing during the time she was in their care, almost 2 years. All the staff were friendly and helpful, especially if I was concerned about my Aunty. The communication, regular updates, and phone calls were reassuring. Living in Highclere was such a contrast from her home environment. She blossomed! Her physical and mental state improved dramatically. Good nutritious food, excellent stimulating and fun activities, kindness and excellent nursing care. As I didn't live close enough to pop in. It was a comfort to know my Aunty was in such good hands.
Sadly my dad only spent a few days in the home before being admitted back into hospital where he passed away. I was sure that had my dad got better he would of been very happy and would have settled well there, as during my visits I was very happy with the staff and the general feeling around the place.
Having spent 6 weeks in hospital, I was concerned for the ongoing care of my mum. Her condition had vastly deteriorated and I felt she had been neglected. The care she received at Highclere Care Home was completely opposite. All the staff from the administrative nursing staff, cleaners and kitchen staff showed my mum devoted care and consideration. They also took time to show kindness and consideration to all mum's relatives and friends. I cannot emphasise enough how pleased and thankful we all were with the care given to my mum at Highclere.
We would just like to thank everyone who made our mum's 90th birthday on 11th September, so special. We really appreciate all the care, love and support that you give her and our family.
My grandmother came to Highclere just before her 100th birthday, she wasn't best pleased to be leaving her own home but needs must. The staff were all helpful, caring and friendly, whatever time we visited. Always happy to help and talk with us about concerns. In the end nanny adjusted and began to enjoy activities, which she wished she had joined sooner. The lovely staff cared for her and our family till the end of her life.
My father was initially at Highclere for a temporary stay after being in hospital but decided to move in permanently after finding the care he was given was excellent. He never had a bad word to say about the home of the staff. On my visits I always found the staff to be very friendly and caring. My father was looked after very well to the end of Highclere and I would thoroughly recommend it.
My mum was diagnosed with terminal cancer in the summer of 2023. In October she was no longer able to live at home and so moved into Highclere. Sadly she died in early February but as a family, we feel so very lucky that she was able to spend her last days at Highclere. We have nothing but admiration and gratitude for all the staff who cared for her as if she were a member of their own family. We always felt Mum was receiving the best care possible – from the manager to the nurses and carers and everyone else. The staff were also extremely welcoming to us as a family as we became regular visitors. In fact, we have all said how much we're going to miss everyone there. We also have the nurse to thank for calling us back in late one night when she saw Mum take a turn for the worse. Thanks to her we were able to be with Mum in her final hours. Overall, we cannot thank the staff enough for how they treated Mum and us as a family. Really top class.
I can't speak highly enough of the staff. They went above and beyond when looking after my mum for her last few months of life. They got to know her, took time out of their busy schedules to talk to her, paint her nails and did everything they could to maintain her dignity and comfort at a difficult time. Our family feels so lucky and grateful to have found Highclere.
The staff at Highclere looked after Mum with such love and kindness and when we came to visit, we were given the same love and kindness. We never had to worry whilst Mum was at Highclere and for that, we are so incredibly grateful. They became our friends and we will miss them all dearly.
A very nice, clean, friendly home. By far the best that my wife has been in during the last thirty-plus years. I can thoroughly recommend Highclere Care Home.
I have always found the staff friendly and helpful. It is always clean and tidy. My mother is well looked after and refers to everyone as 'family'.
My aunt was in the care home for nine years. She was well cared for during this time. the staff were at all times, kind and respectful to her as she found it difficult to adjust. As her health deteriorated she relied on more and more help which she received. In her final days, the kindness and care that she received were wonderful and her last days were very comfortable and stress-free for everyone. Thank you to all Highclere staff for making a sad time more bearable.
My sister and I are very grateful for the loving care my mom has received since she came to Highclere. All the staff are lovely, and nothing is too much trouble.
I cannot praise Highclere and all its staff highly enough. Mum has been here for over 5 years now and is so well cared for and content I could not ask for more. All the staff are so warm, friendly and caring they have made Mum’s time at Highclere so special and happy for both of us. Thank you to the manager and all the team at Highclere.
My mother has been a resident at Highclere for over 5 years. During that time, she has received excellent care for the vast majority of the time, enjoyed the activities provided, and been treated with dignity and respect. Added to that, the carers and nurses genuinely care for the people they are looking after. It is not just a job for them. She died this month, July. I was quite overwhelmed by the genuine concern and support shown to her and the family. There was nothing I could say to the staff or management that was not taken into serious consideration. It felt like we were a team together, as one of the nurses said to me and it was true. My only reservation is the cleanliness of her bedroom at times. Overall, we are hugely appreciative of the staff and management at Highclere and would recommend it to any of our friends.
I have been very well treated by all here and would be happy to recommend it to everyone.
I didn't know what to expect but was pleasantly surprised. The accommodation was not suited to my condition (dislocated left shoulder). The grab handle and toilet roll were on my left-hand side. My bed was difficult to get out of. I would have preferred the hand basin in the bathroom, so I could wash my hands after using the toilet.
Sadly, Dad was only at Highclere Care Home for three weeks but I could not have wished for anywhere better. The care he received was second to none. There were nurses and attendance 24 hours a day. Everyone was so friendly, caring and professional. The home had a lovely atmosphere. The rooms were spacious, encouraging you to bring in all your home comforts. I would not hesitate to recommend Highclere to anyone.
My father moved into your nursing home for the last seven weeks of his life. Your nursing staff were excellent. Very caring, professional and always kept me up to date with his health. The care staff were helpful and friendly and treated him with dignity and the right amount of personal friendliness. All in all, it was a very positive experience, under difficult circumstances. My father said he was in the best place and felt cared for.
The care and compassion are 100%. The staff listen to you - you are treated with dignity. The cleanliness is outstanding. If you have a problem, they will do their best to help. I will recommend anybody to Highclere Care Home for care and or treatment.
