View Full Details of Castlemead Court Care HomeExcellent care of my nan. Lots of activities for both residents and their families. Special occasions are always celebrated.
My mother has been treated with real care and kindness by all the staff. She is full of praise for their kindness and support and I have delighted to see that the staff have been able to help her join in with activities. Staff were always ready to support me too, which is really appreciated in responding to my requests. We feel she is safe and happy.
My wife has been in Castlemead Care Home since June 2024. She is being very well looked after. Whilst she was in hospital, they were very concerned about her eating. Now she demolishes a meal. There are many varied activities to keep her body and mind active. She has dementia and walking difficulties.
My husband has been at Castlemead for 3 weeks, suffering from Alzheimers, staying in the Poppy section. The staff from the manager, carers, activity organisers and reception have been amazing, very kind and helpful. They have made a very sad time for our family easier to come to terms with. The atmosphere is homely and cheerful, the food is very good and we are made welcome when visiting. I would recommend the care home.
I visited my good friend who went to Castlemead Court Care Home for around 7 weeks on their Poppy unit. The staff were amazing, always cheery and attentive, and I cannot thank them enough. They made me feel welcome each time I visited, the staff were always trying to encourage residents and visitors to join in with the activities, from playing board games to dancing and singing. All I can do is thank you to everyone there for making the time my friend spent at Castlemead a lovely one and keep up the good work. It's a shame they couldn't stay as it is a beautiful place, and everyone I met were so friendly.
The activities team at Castlemead Court Care Home go above and beyond to create different and exciting activities. Always something happening from fun days, days out, flower arranging lunches. The activity staff are absolutely amazing, funny, friendly and very caring.
My nan came in for 2 weeks' respite in June so I could go on holiday and also give my mum a little break. The care my nan received from staff on the Daisy unit was excellent, and me and my mum really appreciated it. My nan loved being there, and we were in talks about her staying for longer as she enjoyed it so much, but she sadly passed away before the end of her respite. Both I and my mum want to say thank you to all the staff on the Daisy unit for making the 2 weeks special for my nan.
I am very happy with the way my Mum is cared for at Castlemead Court Care Home. The staff are very friendly and professional and keep me well informed of my Mum's well-being. Castlemead has to be one of the best care homes in the Milton Keynes area, as my Mum has stayed in a few other care homes before coming to Castlemead and I'm glad she is there.
Moving Dad into a care setting was very distressing for him and our family because he has always been so independent despite being totally blind. I had many concerns about how his complex needs would be met. I have been encouraged by the staff and manager to raise any concerns I have and have felt listened to. Over the six months he's been at Castlemead he has settled well and seems so much happier now. I sense my Dad is treated as an individual, with dignity and respect.
My husband came to Catlemead at the end of 2023. The care and attention he is given is second to none. I can't praise the staff highly enough. They are all very caring and supportive and that support has also been extended to me. The manager is trying to include him more in the activities by seeking more ways to provide stimulation for him. I couldn't ask for more!
I have been visiting my elderly friend at Castlemead for over 12 months and I can honestly say that I am happy and confident that my friend is being cared for in the best way possible. It's not easy leaving a loved one in a care home, but when this time comes due to them needing 24-hour care and supervision then you need staff who are kind, caring, compassionate, and empathetic. I have found all of this at Castlemead and I am so very grateful to all of the lovely staff there who do a fantastic job. I am extremely grateful for all of the hard work and dedication of the staff at Castlemead.
My friend was a resident in Castlemead Court for two years. Throughout that time she was very well cared for. When friends visited, we were always warmly welcomed by both her and the wonderful staff. Modern facilities and a wide range of activities, along with friendly people, encouraged and enabled residents to live and enjoy life as they chose. No care home is perfect. There were times when things were not as we would expect. However, we were always listened to and the hard-working, dedicated staff did their very best to help put things right. I will always remember the time, kindness and loving care given to my friend during the last two years of her life. Thank you.
Over the past few years, I have visited a friend in Castlemead. I never announced myself before calling and I have never seen Daisy Unit anything other than clean, friendly, calm, homely. Of course, this is due to the manager and staff - all of whom are kind, professional, caring, unflappable and smiling. Upon returning to the home on a hot day with my friend after a walk on the grounds, no greeting of 'How was the walk', the staff on reception zeroed in on my friend and straight away offered her the use of a hand fan, it brought a welcome relief, I had not noticed; and that staff told me she is usually in the office! I just hope to God that if I need to leave my home, it will be to go to somewhere like the home called Castlemead - if they'll have me! Many of the staff were at the funeral and even there the manager offered the resident's son to not be a stranger and drop in at any time as healing takes a while and they would be pleased to see him.
Everyone in the home is very friendly and will try and answer any questions we have. The car park could be better, people not parking very well within spaces (taking up two). Very clean, my mother-in-law looks well cared for.
My husband lived at Castlemead for 2 years suffering from Parkinson's and dementia. I cannot fault the care that he had whilst he was living there. He was well fed with freshly cooked food and went from being bedbound to joining in all the activities and spending a lot of time outdoors in the summer. When he became very ill and was admitted to the hospital and after 1 week came back to the home for end-of-life care. In his last 4 weeks, he picked up and started to join in things again and was treated with the utmost love and care. When he did die the care staff were nothing but amazing looking after me while grieving themselves. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
Our mum was transferred from hospital directly to the home as she could no longer care for herself and the 4 home care visits she was getting at home were no longer mitigating the risk of her hurting herself (she lived alone and suffers from dementia). I have found the care home to be a very high standard, with very well-trained staff and high-standard care is given at all times, the care home is also very clean and well-organised and my mum comments she really enjoys the food and the daily activities. I am a health and safety practitioner and my personal opinion is this home is very safe and is up to date with all health and safety laws.
Thank you to Castlemead staff for all the effort made with the decorations and Christmas lighting switch on event. Such effort for the residents is much appreciated. I could see many residents and families of residents enjoyed the event and the provision of food and drinks.
Very happy with Castlemead Court. The home is always clean and lovely. My husband is treated with great care and dignity, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. The staff and management have also been a great support to myself and family members at this difficult time. I am so glad we have Castlemead Court.
My Mother was moved to Castlemead in July having been very unhappy in a previous home. I can't thank all the staff enough for the love, care and support they have given my Mother to help her settle in and take part in activities. Her severe dementia makes things difficult but she often tells me how well she's looked after and how kind the staff are. The hard work and dedication by all the staff is exceptional, I am so glad and relieved to be able to know that my Mother is so well looked after. Thank you to everyone, but particularly to the care home managers who go above and beyond in their work, and helped my Mother and I go through a difficult transition from the previous home.
My parents have recently moved to Castlemead Court. They have been made very welcome and much care has been taken to enable them to be together. The staff are friendly. The food is very good and there are ample activities. There are day trips locally, which were enjoyed. A very good start.
