View Full Details of PJ Care Mallard House Neurological Care CentreI visited my son on the day of the summer barbecue. The atmosphere was very friendly, the food excellent and the staff very attentive to the patients without visitors. We were lucky to have a sunny day so all the patients were able to sit or walk in the garden!
PJ Care looks after my wife very well despite her challenging behaviour. The day rooms can get quite noisy. A quiet room for the quieter residents would be good. Communication with staff, I'm not always sure who to speak to to get a full update on my wife. A nominated member of staff for each resident might help.
This home is a wonderful place full of caring and compassionate staff at all levels. They have treated my husband with the utmost dignity and strive to meet his needs daily. I would thoroughly recommend this home.
Friendly, professional staff that are always helpful and welcoming. They treat our son with kindness and care while ensuring his dignity.
My father has been a resident at Mallard House since November 2006 and in that time he has hands down always been treated with dignity, care and respect. I have grown up seeing him well looked after in a facility that always surpasses my expectations - 10-fold! The current management has supported me whenever I visit and I know the care dad receives is second to none. Thank you!
My brother has been cared for at Mallard House for 18 years. I have been happy with the care and the compassion provided by the staff. He is treated with dignity and kindness. His health is monitored well and treatment provided as necessary. Communication between PJ Care and family is generally very good. Regular updates and opportunities to meet and discuss any issues/concerns resolved very quickly.
The staff at PJ Care are very kind and helpful. They know my brother and other residents very well and treat him (them) with great dignity and respect. The barbecue event on the 10th of August was excellent. A lot of time and trouble had been taken to make the event a success. The food was delicious and plentiful. The music was great and really added to the positive atmosphere. Thank you very much.
My father has been at Mallard House for six years. He has been well looked after, in what is a calm and friendly atmosphere. The specialist teams helped him enormously to live a full and happy life, as independently as he can, while still watching over him and keeping him safe. The trips out, plus the entertainers who visit are all very talented, friendly and stimulating. A wonderful team.
They do everything they can to make patients comfortable and for them to receive the best care possible for their conditions. The staff are great, fun-loving and kind. Family's are updated and welcomed. I know my mum's condition would be much worse without them.
I would like to emphasise how wonderful the carers and other staff at PJ Care, Mallard House are. I have visited my sister in the safety of the pod since March 2020. Although I miss visiting her in her room and having hugs, the home has done its best to assist me in maintaining contact. My sister is cared for in a kindly and friendly manner by all staff ensuring she is always happy. She may not be able to communicate however I can see in her eyes she is happy. Thank you to everyone at the home for taking care and making it fun for my sister.
I am very happy that my mother is at PJ Care. The staff are so friendly and make you feel welcome. She feels happy when they take her on day trips too. A very friendly and safe environment. The only issue we've ever had was a dinner issue where she was fed rice on 3 occasions and wrote down beforehand that she can't eat it. Other than that small issue, I couldn't feel happier with any other home.
Prior to placing my mother in Mallard House we visited and reviewed c. five different care homes/facilities. Everything from the initial assessment, facilities, staff, cleanliness, etc. stood Mallard House on a higher league to the other homes. The level of knowledge, care, staffing is excellent and really helped to ease my concerns.
My mother has been at Mallard House since the middle of May 2017. She suffers from LBD (Lewy Body Dementia) and although only officially diagnosed in January 2017 has deteriorated very rapidly. She has moments of real highs and lows emotionally, displaying challenging behaviour, then tears, then laughter. A real roller coaster for her and the people who care for her. She also has trouble with her speech and now requires one to one care for all her daily needs. We have nothing but praise for the care that she has received so far at Mallard House. The staff are all so very kind with her, despite her challenges, and she is very well looked after and cared for. She settled very quickly into her new environment when she moved there, and it was clear from the start that the staff are highly trained and used to looking after people with varying degrees of mental illness. It is a relief knowing that she is in a safe and caring home.
