View Full Details of Westbury GrangeYou hear a lot about the quality of care homes in the UK being poor quality and I can honestly say that my experience with Westbury Grange has been wonderful. From the moment I first visited looking for a place for my mother I was welcomed and was listened to. When mum moved in everyone was so welcoming and she settled in very quickly. The quality of care is outstanding - and the food is home cooked, varied and excellent. The staff are caring and interested in the residents - and my mum enjoys the activities - which are really well organised and fun.
Having had the dreadful experience of four nursing homes in twelve years who were quite incapable of looking after our daughter with very complex nursing needs, we can say with confidence that Westbury Grange can now meet her needs with professionalism, kindness and understanding. This home has excellent, permanent staff giving continuity of care. They understand the need for stimulation with two activities people plus a trained music therapist each week. The food is beautifully cooked and presented. We feel extremely fortunate to have found this excellent home. The manager and her staff are totally dedicated to making this home perfect for some of the most vulnerable people in society. This home deserves the highest level of commendation.
My mum came to need full-time dementia care following a fall and stay in hospital, which made it impossible for her to go back to living alone. The lady was so helpful and supportive during a very difficult time moving mum. All the staff are so caring and take their time, and Mum never feels rushed. Mum has really settled wonderfully and is very well and happy. I have now gone back to being her daughter and my visits are lovely. I have been as well looked after by everyone at Westbury Grange as mum has been.
My mother is extremely happy in Westbury Grange. She moved from a Retirement Village with sporadic care and was lonely and depressed. She moved into Westbury Grange just under a year ago and her overall health has improved, she is cared for considerately and is stimulated as far as is possible with her condition. This move is the most positive outcome I could have hoped for.
Needing to find a care home can occur unexpectedly and is another complication that compounds already testing times. We went through a very trying experience when a parent became ill but I'm so pleased we found Westbury Grange. It most definitely fits the category of a care home that provides compassionate and effective support care for a dementia sufferer. The home itself is well-appointed, comfortable and very welcoming for residents and their families. The carers are all friendly, good-humoured and took the time to get to know me personally. When I visit, everyone greets me by name, including relatives of other residents at Westbury which makes me feel so at ease. Westbury is run by experienced, compassionate people who understand what residents and their families are experiencing. I'm happy my relative is well looked after at a well-equipped home, that keeps me advised of developments and works hard to ease the trauma (and occasional hassles) whenever possible.
My mother moved into Westbury Grange in January. The staff could not have been more welcoming in helping her to make the transition, welcoming her with flowers and encouraging her to take part in a range of activities that take place in the home. The staff have also shown her great care and love, identifying any illnesses and making sure she gets the right care and always communicating with me quickly and clearly. I feel very comfortable with the care my mother is receiving.
My wife was in residential care with Westbury Grange with end of life care. Sadly she passed away in May. During her time there she was safe, comfortable and looked after very well. The staff were friendly and worked very hard. Westbury Grange has a homely atmosphere and you can visit any time day or night. Also the staff were there for me as well supporting and praising me.
I was very pleased with all the care and support my husband received. There was a very friendly atmosphere every time I was visiting. The staff were always supportive and helpful towards me as well.
Nobody wants their mum to have to be in residential care but with Westbury Grange, we do at least know that she is safe and cared for. The staff are like family and treat her like they really care for her as a person, not just a resident or patient. People know her likes and dislikes and what she can and can't do. Westbury is comfy and homely and although we still feel guilty that she isn't at home, we know she is in a good place.
Westbury Grange is a charming care home with exceptional management and staff who are compassionate and caring and seem genuinely interested in each and every resident. There are frequent and stimulating activities arranged by internal and external personnel, and visitors are made to feel very welcome. I cannot praise or recommend Westbury Grange too highly for the care and attention they give to their residents.
Mum who is in her 100th year was having home care but gradually it became a necessity for her to have 24/7 nursing care. Having reviewed the care homes available in our area and taken reviews from fellow users who had or have elderly parents with care home needs we went with Westbury Grange. The initial introduction and meetings with senior personnel went well and Mum was comfortable with what was going on. Mum moved in the beginning of March and the nervousness of moving out of her home was an issue but staff in Westbury were very kind and Mum gradually settled down. She has significant age issues and requires help which is always available both nursing and carers.
Mum has recently started staying at Westbury Grange. I was no longer able to manage her care myself and it is very close to my home. Mum has so far settled really well. She has a lovely room with a sizable en-suite and the unit is big enough but not so big that she would get lost or disorientated. The manager, admin and care staff have all been wonderful and Mum’s care is fantastic. She is joining in all of the activities offered and is enjoying all of the food she is given. I have worried so much about this transition but Mum seems really happy.
I would like to praise the manager and all the staff for the excellent care they took of my mother during her stay before she passed away on the 19th of October 2022. They made her feel very welcome and comfortable, giving her lots of personal care and love. They were always very helpful to me when I visited, giving me very informative updates regarding my mother. I was reassured that my mother was receiving the best care and attention which put my mind at rest, knowing my mother was very safe, cared for and loved. I can't thank the manager and her staff enough and would recommend Westbury Grange to anyone looking for a friendly, helpful and caring care home.
My mum has been at Westbury Grange for several years now. The staff were amazing before Covid. During Covid, they had to deal with so much. It was hard not being able to see Mum. However, they excelled in her care and I really feel that they love her too. The manager, as well as others, often stepped into different roles - chef, nurse or caterer. Can’t recommend them enough. It is fabulous now I can just go in unannounced with doggie. Would book myself in now but not quite there yet. Thank you to all staff who have and do care for my mum.
Whenever I visit my mother-in-law I am always comforted by the cheerful, caring and attentive attitude of all the staff. My mother-in-law is clearly well looked after and we are grateful that her dementia-related anxiety levels (which were rapidly increasing) appear to have stabilised and reduced since she came to Westbury in May 2021. Many thanks to the manager and the team!
As I see it as a visitor, Westbury Grange is a superb care home. The staff are always welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is always someone to talk to, should I need to ask any questions. Very friendly atmosphere. Staff always seem very caring. When I visit I always see several members of staff going about their daily work (which I do not see in other care homes I visit).
The staff always welcoming, informative and most importantly kind to Mum. Very reassuring to know Mum is safe and well cared for. The efforts made to include all residents in various activities and ensure everyone is happy are fantastic, thanks to all.
All the staff provide the utmost care for my mother. They provide very good emotional and physical support for her needs. The surroundings are very relaxing. There seem to be lots going on or planned for the residents as Westbury Grange opens up again. Thank you.
I am so pleased to have gained a place for my Mum at Westbury Grange. Friendly and competent staff, providing care second to none. I feel Mum is safe and life has improved for her since she arrived there.
My mother is very happy and content living at The Grange, all staff have been very helpful and accommodating during these very difficult times. The care she has received is second to none and we are so grateful to all the staff for keeping her safe.
