View Full Details of Ashbrook Court Care HomeMy mothers experience was not good. Following an assessment by social services, they said that interim care was a good idea and stated that Ashbrook House confirmed that they had availability. Obviously we were anxious for mum to be in a safer in environment, however it took nearly 2 weeks for them to assess and admit her. When she arrived there she was placed in a terrible environment for her, with poor dementia patients wandering around when my mother has fully capacity. On this wing, she had strangers wandering into her 'private' room, there was loud music blaring in the corridors. She wasn't allowed to chose her own outfits, and finally, she didn't like the food. Trying to contact my mother here was very problematic, very often excuses were made, and on one occasion I was connected to a stranger. Finally we transferred mum out of here, she had no discharge papers and they had 'binned' her prescription meds, leaving her without necessary medication for 24 hours.
Once we moved our mother into Ashbrook Crt we soon realised it was a perfect move. All the staff was so accommodating, supportive and friendly. We now sleep at night with no worries as we know she is being cared for as best as she can be. It just feels like a big extended family.
I cannot fault anything to date. Staff were supportive whilst viewing and amazing when we brought him in. They have kept us updated and nothing is too much trouble Dad has settled in well and seems happy and always says how lovely everyone is. A very difficult time for us as a family but we know Dad is safe and sound. Thank you
We are extremely happy with this home and would recommend you put your loved ones in here staff are all caring and lovely. The entertainment for residents is excellent, everyones birthday is celebrated with a party. There are regular outings. All the carers are kind and caring to residents it is clean and friendly. It's amazing they keep you in touch if anything happens to your loved one.
Overall very happy! Reception staff always friendly and happy. Staff in lounge always happy to talk and help with any questions we may have (Oak Lounge). Lunch (this is the Main Meal we see during our visits) looks delicious. Support staff - hairdresser, maintenance, housekeeping, activities all fantastic. Nurses, always about to answer questions.
1) Reception staff - always friendly, helpful and cheerful. 2) Day time care staff - Oak Lounge - always friendly, professional and attentive to my mum's needs. 3) Hairdresser - Bring extra 'cheer', care and friendliness to the environment. 4) Nurses - communication, updates and next step chatted (senior carer) about regularly, but, they are always answer any questions. Very friendly and professional. Cleaning staff, maintenance, mini bus driver, activity staff are all very dedicated to their allocated duties. Good menu/diet.
I am very happy with the care that Ashbrooks Court give my partner. All the staff are very kind and considerate to residents and always have a smile. They are also very supportive when it comes to the residents' families.
I'm really happy my mum is in this home the staff are attentive and caring. Everyone is happy to see you and the management are very accessible. My mum has dementia and doesn't really know me anymore, my visits are sad now but the staff are very reassuring. Everyone works hard to look after our loved ones. Thank you. I would recommend this home to anyone.
The staff are caring and make sure all resident's needs are attended to. They are always welcoming and will deal with any specific issue. There are organised activities and outings and the residents are encouraged to join in.
My mum moved into Ashbrook Court in November this year after a bad experience in a previous care home. I can say so far all the staff and the manager have been amazing. My mum looks very well cared for and is very comfortable in her lovely room. All the staff work extremely hard looking after all the residents and we as a family very much appreciate the care and kindness our mum is receiving.
I honestly can't speak highly enough of the staff and management of Ashbrook Court. From the warm welcome on arrival to the in-depth social, emotional and medical support given to all residents. My close friend has lived in other care homes before Ashbrook Court but I'm so glad we moved her here. Her needs have been 100% met with consideration and care. I have no hesitation in recommending this wonderful care home.
An outstanding care home, with lovely caring staff from not only the nurses but right through to the activity staff, carers, office staff and cleaners, all very lovely people. I am so pleased I chose Ashbrook, I can relax knowing my darling father is being looked after so well and treated with love, care, respect and dignity and get constant updates. If anyone is considering the prospect of having to place their loved one in care, this is the one.
My wife of over 60 years has been a resident of Ashbrook Court for over one year now. Her previous home could not handle her uncooperative outbursts. Suffering from Advanced Alzheimer's, and totally deaf, she presented quite a challenge for the management and staff there. She remains a feisty little lady but the entire staff show patience and empathy to which she responds favourably. Initially, I was concerned about the high turnover of nursing staff but that seemed to have settled down and I'm now reasonably happy with the medical care she is receiving. One particular pleasing aspect of the care she receives is the way that staff treat each resident as an individual, with specific needs, and react accordingly in a prompt and pleasant manner. Family and friends are frequent visitors and all have expressed how happy they are with her standard of care at Ashbrook Court.
The care home is well run by the management staff, nurses and care support staff under the manager. The standard of food is good and a variety of different dishes is offered to the residents. A good variety of activities is offered and special days like birthdays of residents are celebrated. Overall the care staff from the management downwards really care for the residents and make them as comfortable as possible and cater for the resident's needs. The whole decor of the building, rooms and utilities are designed to make the residents feel at home and to cheer them up.
My friend/neighbour was bought into Ashbrook Court in February and since then has not only improved in her general health but has settled down nicely. The staff are very kind and caring and keep us informed at all times. I would definitely recommend Ashbrook Court.
Very happy with Ashbrook Court Care Home but there are a few things that could be a little better. My mum's room could do with a good freshen-up. The flooring in her room is a bit grubby. The food could do with a change with good old-fashioned food like shepherd's pie, cottage pie, sausages mash and so on. I know I ask for ham egg and chips for my mum but not every day and not to give her salad in the wintertime.
I used the service for the first time on a week respite for my husband. My experience - welcome environment, staff friendly and approachable. My husband was relaxed and showed no sign of anxiety in my presence. If I had concerns and asked, no problem getting clarification.
I feel my uncle is well cared for and encouraged to participate in activities. The staff are always very friendly and tell me things my uncle has talked about when I go, I know he doesn't know me anymore, but I'm told when he does have a chat with someone he sometimes mentions me... he is often asleep when I go. I like to look at the social media page and when I spot him enjoying baking or holding an animal it's so nice.
Ashbrook Court Care Home provides excellent care for my father, with dignity and respect. They show care, patience, empathy and understanding. The staff make him feel at ease and every staff member I've been in contact with has been supportive and helpful, including reception staff.
Ashbrook Court Care Home continues to be very supportive of my friend, who has significant mental health issues. Management and staff are attentive and patient. They also communicate well with me and answer queries very promptly. I am very happy with the care that my friend receives.
