View Full Details of Elmcroft Care HomeI have not written a review until now, as I feel this does need to be addressed. The home does not look inviting; first impressions do count. There is very much a lack of communication between staff and management; there has/were a lot of cover-ups with care and some neglect. The assistance bell was not answered efficiently. The food is not desirable, and care needs are not being supported. I would not recommend this to any of my relatives and/or friends where care is required.
My father was admitted to Elmcroft on 12th July after 5 weeks in hospital. He was in a poorly state of health. In the time to his move to a more local home he received the best possible care from day 1. As this was our 1st experience of a care home we were naturally concerned. My father regained his health up to leaving Elmcroft. I have been very happy with everything that was done to make his stay a pleasant one. Many thanks to all the staff. Thank you again.
Mum first went in back in July. The staff were very friendly, kind, caring and did their best to settle Mum in, they really are all so lovely. There was really only one problem with the home at the time and that was the manager - zero communication, lack of empathy and quite rude. Since the new management the communication has completely transformed and they have become the face of Elmcroft, always visible, always ready to listen and so friendly and making Mum a number 1 priority. Any concerns the new management have gone above and beyond and I know my mum loved interacting with them. The nurses, carers, cleaners, facilities staff and one member of staff, in particular, have all been wonderful and amazing from day one and I will be so sad not to see them anymore as they always made an effort to say hello and chat to me as well as keeping me up to date on Mum. The cleanliness of the place is second to none, always immaculate and super tidy. The food is outstanding and of excellent quality. Thank you so much to all the staff for looking after my mum.
My husband has only been in this lovely home for a few weeks after looking after him myself until it was no longer possible I was reluctant to let anyone else take care of him. This home is amazing, the staff are lovely and so very caring so I really needn't have worried. Visitors are always welcomed and encouraged to join in any functions that are going on, the staff interacts with the residents. The home is spotlessly clean, my husband is always clean and tidy and dressed in his own clothes. If you have a relative needing care I would recommend this home.
After seeing my father-in-law very difficult at the hospital, Elmcroft took him, and within days, they had settled him in. The staff are friendly and caring. Very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. We feel quite happy to leave him here after a visit. He seems happy. Overall, the management of the care home is excellent. I'm glad he's in here. It's a very good care home.
My brother was treated with dignity, and the care was excellent. The staff were kind and professional. The experience was good despite the circumstances. Exceptional care by all concerned.
The care for my father has been exceptional; we couldn't have asked for any better in his last few days. Thank you all for all your care and attention.
Everyone in Elmcroft has been so kind and helpful in dealing with my dad and members of our family. Every care has been given. They have kept him clean and comfortable. They have always addressed him by his name. I cannot fault the care of my dad. Wonderful staff. Thank you all for making Dad's final resting place so peaceful.
I was so upset when my dad had to go into a care home as his awake through the night with his dementia, but I was pleasantly surprised! My dad settled in quite quickly. The staff are lovely and caring and already know my dad's ways. The food is yummy, and they show respect for my dad, who, at times, can be very difficult. Overall, I can go home knowing my dad is safe and well looked after, which is a huge weight off of my mind. I would recommend Elmcroft Care Home without a doubt.
Management and staff/carers are very caring, helpful and very polite and professional in all aspects. Their attitude to the family could not be better. I could not wish for my husband to be treated any better; they have been wonderful. Courteous and loving in his final days/hours. Well done, Elmcroft, you're the best.
Mum is usually clean, warm and comfortable. She sleeps most of the time now so we don't know what she's like or what she does between visits. Mum's glasses, a hand-stitched blanket and other named items have been missing for several months. This is not uncommon! The admin and/or management is erratic. Emails are not often answered. Appointments to visit are not often confirmed. The meeting minutes are not forwarded as promised.
Staff are very friendly and considerate towards Mum and her welfare. Staff always contact me when they have any concerns with Mum or her wellbeing. There is a big improvement since new management and more staff visible.
Much improved, keep it up.
My wife is always clean and warm, does not complain about food. Generally happy about her residency.
The home is set in a lovely location and all residents have access to secure gardens and grounds. All residents appear well cared for and contented. The staff are excellent, there is good interaction between staff and residents. Recently, activities have increased with the re-introduction of outings. Music and dancing are particularly important to my husband and it is lovely that the staff find time to dance with him. Meals are good, with all diets catered for. I am pleased with the care my husband receives at Elmcroft.
The improvements this past six months have been astonishing. The team at Elmcroft go above and beyond for my mum. They are understanding of her needs and encourage her to join in activities etc. My mum's demanding and more so as the dementia increases. Thank you.
I feel that since my mom moved to Elmcroft in August 2022, she has improved and seems very happy. Mum has a good relationship with the staff and definitely has a few favourites. When any problems arise, I find the management team assist and rectify what I have asked. Overall, I find the staff friendly and helpful and the home very clean.
I experience a nice, friendly and professional service.
My mum is very well looked after, but I feel the home needs more staff.
I was made to feel very welcome. The home is clean and calm, with a lovely atmosphere. My aunt and uncle are comfortable and well cared for. Thank you.
