View Full Details of Godden Lodge Care HomeMy mum has been in Godden Lodge Care Home for just over a year, she has advanced dementia so can be very challenging but the staff are amazing. Her personal care is so good even with Mum's constant complaining, It doesn't matter what time of day you go the home is always spotless, the staff sit and do various activities, it has surpassed my expectations and I can't thank all of the staff highly enough.
From the moment my mum was settled into Godden Lodge, myself and the family felt that Mum would be safe and happy there, which was a huge relief. All the staff were caring and kind and Mum told us frequently how happy she was and that the staff really cared for her. We always felt very welcome to visit anytime and Mum loved it when we brought our dog to visit her too! Anytime we had any worries or concerns the staff always were happy to discuss things and take any necessary action. I often thought if I ever needed 24-hour care I could be so happy there, as Mum was until she peacefully passed away.
It was my mum's birthday and the staff gave my mum a cake with candles on it, sang happy birthday and took some pictures. One of the pictures is on the notice board, that was brilliant. I didn't ask them to do it, so that made it even more special, not only for Mum but for me as well. A massive thank you to all the staff. Mum has favourites but they change each time I see her, so to me, that shows how brilliant each one is with my mum. Thank you.
Our Mum came into this home for end-of-life care. All the staff were very kind, respectful and caring to our Mum and our family in the last few weeks of her life. Can't praise or thank them enough.
After a very stressful time getting both my parents into a care home, we found Godden Lodge staff amazing. Nothing was too much trouble and they worked so hard to ensure that the family as a whole was welcomed and looked after. I can't recommend them highly enough.
Following my Father being admitted into Godden Lodge, we were very pleased with both the quality of the home and the amazing staff. This was then followed by my Mum being admitted due to palliative care. The staff worked hard to get them on the same ward, which is incredible having been married for 73 years and never separated, what more can I say.
Having both parents admitted to Godden Lodge within 2 weeks of each other, it was a great relief when they were allowed to be placed in the same ward. This was very helpful to my Mum as she is palliative, and to my Dad who has dementia. A perfect set up. Fantastic caring staff.
The lodge is always clean and tidy with the staff providing a friendly welcome on arrival. The staff are helpful and always willing to help whenever we visit and also know when to leave us for some 'family time'. Everyone seems to know our father-in-law throughout all the staff and always makes sure he is provided with good care.
This home is a caring environment. Recently changed management has turned this place around. Staff care for the residents and there is good interaction, food is good and constant supply of tea, snacks, etc. Staff always provide a warm welcome and any issues are dealt with immediately. I would recommend this home.
We have been very happy with the carers caring for our brother-in-law
We have been very happy with the carers caring for our brother-in-law.
We are so reassured that Dad is being looked after at Godden Lodge. Dad is very well cared for and treated like family. Dad is always kept clean and they look after his specialised needs so well. We can now rest and feel calm that Dad is in a good home. I cannot praise the staff enough on how they make Godden Lodge feel like a home from home. It is always clean and the food is lovely here.
My father-in-law is safe here and treated with dignity and respect. The family are encouraged to make themselves at home too and are always offered a drink. We are happy he is here.
Extremely dissatisfied, have moved my relative to another care home. Many concerns, including care staff, management, care records, over-reliance on agency staff and lack of staff, particularly one nurse only in the unit and that often being ad hoc agency nurse.
My Mother has only been here a short while and has been treated with dignity and compassion. The staff all seem to be caring and conserved.
My experience with Godden Lodge staff and management, they are utterly exceptional, loving, caring, loyal and professional. Well done to the manager and team; you are amazing!
My dad is always happy and well looked after. The staff could not do enough for my dad.
My husband has now been in Victoria House for 1 year; I can say as a family we could not be happier with the care and attention he receives from all the staff. They are all so kind.
My mother resided at Godden Lodge for 18 months. Firstly, I do want to praise the carers on Boyce Unit who cared for my mother well during her residency and were very kind after she passed away, hence the 3 stars. However, the last few days of her life were not to the same standard of care. I spent a great deal of time tracking down nurses and talking to management, who showed no empathy, when I should have been with my mother holding her hand. There were issues with the administration of the prescribed anticipatory medicines, irregular mouth care and a general lack of communication with us regarding my mother’s condition leading up to her passing. This made a very difficult and sad time even harder. I have provided feedback and hope this will help the home make improvements going forward.
Dad was resident at Godden Lodge for the last 2 years of his life, at which point he needed 24-hour nursing care. Without exception, the staff were excellent, kind and considerate. As a family, we feel the CQC judgement was totally unwarranted. Godden Lodge deserves to be rated outstanding!
