Absolutely amazing care given, the staff are absolutely wonderful and treated my mum with the care and respect needed. Sadly she was only here for 5 weeks before passing away. Highly recommend, the care needs they give are above and beyond.
My sister came here for her final few weeks and was made very comfortable. I'd like to thank the manager and her team of nurses and carers for their kindness and dedication to caring for her and the support they gave us. We fully recommend this nursing home.
My ex-wife was sent from hospital 2 months ago and was afforded the utmost care and attention. The staff could not have been any nicer to visiting friends and family, all of whom were very impressed by the attention to detail regarding the needs of the patient. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to any needing palliative care.
I have found this to be an excellent nursing home, the care and compassion shown to my mother and my family is very good. I would recommend this home to anyone. The manager and staff should be very proud of the service they give.
My aunty received a great standard of care throughout her 7-month stay at Great Wheatley Nursing Home. All members of staff were professional, sympathetic and considerate in the way they dealt with my auntie's needs on a daily basis. The admin and nursing staff provided a good health plan taking into consideration all aspects of care required for my aunty. This care plan was implemented effectively by the nursing team. The catering staff provided good nutritional meals and my aunty often commented on how she liked them and that she always looked forward to meal times. When my aunty was near her end of life, the care she received was both dignified and compassionate. I am extremely satisfied with the care my aunty received at Great Wheatley Nursing Home from the moment she arrived until she passed away.
This beautiful nursing home called Great Wheatley Nursing Home in Rayleigh took great care of my nanna who passed away on the 15th of December 2022 and was 86 years old. The Sister and her nursing team were so very professional, kind, loving and caring of my darling nanna and my family are so very proud of them. Heartfelt thanks and appreciation for everything, you are totally our family from this day forward. We won't ever forget you.
The manager and her staff treated my father with great dignity and respect and his room was always kept spotlessly clean. They were equally caring and sympathetic to us, as family members, and could not have been more accommodating of our visiting needs. We will be eternally grateful for the level of care my father received during his final days.
My brother was an end-of-life patient at Great Wheatley Nursing Home. He was extremely well cared for with dignity, by the very caring and efficient staff, led by the manager. The family were able to visit and was welcomed warmly by the staff.
My mum who’s 97 was admitted to the hospital with a mini-stroke. After a catalogue of problems developed, the heartbreaking decision for end-of-life care was taken. After eight days of end of life, they decided that she should be discharged and the best option was a nursing home! A place was found for her at Great Wheatley Nursing Home. The manager and her staff are the most caring, kind and compassionate people. They have cared for my dear mum as if she was their own. I am warmly welcomed, able to visit and sit with my mum for as long as I want. When I leave I am comforted in the knowledge that she is extremely well cared for and that I will be contacted immediately with any changes in her condition. Mum's stay at Great Wheatley is only going to be a short one but she will depart this world with dignity due to the excellent care of the manager and her team.
Very thorough service, staff were kind and responsive. This is highly recommended for anyone in search of a home in the area. The covid 19 procedures were upheld keeping residents safe from exposure.
We arranged for my father to be admitted here for end of life care. The home was recommended to us and we definitely made the right choice. All the staff that we met were competent and compassionate, not only towards Dad but also to my Mum and wider family. Caring for Dad in his final days presented some challenges but the team were more than equal to them. The residents were at the centre of all they do. Communication with ourselves was excellent throughout. After Dad died Great Wheatley still remained supportive to us. We remain very grateful.
After a lot of research, I found Great Wheatley nursing home for my Nan who needed 24-7 Palliative care. I visited with my mother, our first visit we were welcomed with a warm face and heart from the manager. We viewed the home and within 48 hrs my Nan was a resident. The staff and management couldn’t have done anything more for my Nan than feed her, build her up and make her comfortable. Unfortunately Nan in her last days she refused food and drink, tried with a tube but unfortunately her life was ending. Today we lost our Nan. But I thank the manager and all staff for their tender loving care.
My mother was resident in Great Wheatley Nursing Home receiving palliative care from February 2016 to May 2016. In this period, I visited the home many times and always found it to be a friendly welcome environment. The personal care provided by the carers for my mother was excellent and they developed a rapport with her and me that made me feel confident that she was well looked after at all times. It appeared to me that the home was managed with personal care at the top of the priority list and although I had only had experience of one other care home for my mother, Great Wheatley was by far the better in terms of personal care for residents and the rapport achieved by the staff with each other as well as the residents and visitors.

The level of service provided by all the staff is exceptional. You are always greeted with genuine warmth and any matters of concern are immediately addressed. The level of care and attention to our father's needs were met with respect and dignity. As a family we are delighted with the service provided by the manager and her outstanding team. We are confident and happy to recommend this nursing home and high standard of care they provided for our father, right up to his end of life.
