View Full Details of Little Holland HallMyself and my family are truly grateful to the staff and the carers for looking after mum, they are so kind. She always looks lovely and well cared for. We can't thank them enough. I would highly recommend this nursing home.
Came to see my sister and was very impressed with the way she was being looked after, the cleaning of the place. The staff were so lovely, nothing was a problem, kind, happy and pleased to help. Well done to you all.
Recently moved my Great Uncle to Little Holland Hall Care Home and are extremely pleased we did. This is very different to his previous care home in Colchester and even one in Epping before. I hope other families and residents here see how hard the staff work whilst keeping friendly and supportive. At Little Holland Hall Nursing Home the weekend staff we meet are welcoming, caring and want to know about their residents and their family. My uncle does not have dementia or issues with understanding but has a wide range of physical needs. At this home he is treated with respect. They listen to his dietary requests and have even moved his bed towards the window so he can watch the world outside. He is much happier here. The home is nicely decorated, clean and has a lovely garden. It is a world apart from similar ones a few miles away. The only issue we had was leaving - which shows how safe and secure it is. Thank you to all the staff there: you all are important in making a home.
My first impression on my first visit to Little Holland Hall was cleanliness and good routine by staff. Care and attention were very good in making residents comfortable with help at meal times if required. Close attention was also given to medication needs at regular times. Staff never failed to be polite and gentle towards residents and nothing was too much trouble. All in all a thorough 'caring' service.
Dad was placed at Little Holland Hall in June 2022 after a deterioration in his health. He had been in two other homes which we were not happy with. We were welcomed and made to feel part of the family immediately. He settled straight away. Everyone was very easy to approach, and nothing was too much trouble. His food was always good, even with his restricted diet. He was always clean and well cared for, and as a family, we felt finally he was in the right place. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated further and he passed away in August. While on end-of-life care, the worst week of our lives, we were all cared for with such love and compassion. We are so grateful to all the staff at Little Holland Hall.
Very good service
We chose Little Holland Hall to provide a few weeks of respite care for Mum, who has dementia. Our experience has been a positive one, with a noticeable improvement in Mum's nutritional intake and plenty of social interaction with both staff and residents. With the addition of personal effects, the room is homely and comfortable. The daily menu is varied with a number of choices, and the food is good. The staff are helpful and respectful, and we are comfortable with Little Holland Hall continuing Mum's care.
Last year my mother spent some time at Little Holland Hall after a hospital stay. She improved so much that she was able to go home after a few months. We were so impressed that we now have both our 101-year-old aunt and 97-year-old father at Little Holland Hall. Having spent many hours night and day with our father I know 1st hand how genuinely kind and respectful the staff are to patients and family. It is spotlessly clean and the food is great, and nothing is too much trouble. We highly recommend Little Holland Hall to anyone.
My nan was on respite care for a good few months and the care Little Holland Hall has provided during the time was amazing. A group of dedicated caring staff under wonderful management who knows the meaning of compassion and care, I would say the least. We were made very comfortable as a family, especially in the difficult times of covid, nan after the respite was able to regain her normal and moved back to her own flat. We have recommended the home to a couple of other people who then informed us about the great care too. Much better than so-called star homes with all facilities needed available and I would rate Little Holland Hall 5 out of 5.
My mum has been a resident here since late 2017, she is very happy here and the staff treat her like she’s part of their own family. All the staff are lovely and like a big family and nothing is too much trouble. I live over 2 hours away in Surrey and they always keep me updated on mum. The food is lovely and caters to mum's diet and her many comorbidities. We still do regular zooms with mum, as we started during Covid and kept it up even when open again mum recently was Ill, no chemist had meds she needed, staff rang around all the chemists till they closed but nurse said mum should go to A&E for urgent treatment. They kept us updated all night, whilst waiting for the ambulance, mum went in at 8:30 am, got given meds in A&E and taken back to the home with her and was back to the home by 15:30 as hosp said she was best treated at the home with meds, so the home gave mum meds and she made a full recovery from what was considered a life-threatening event. Mum has dementia and she was kept calm throughout by the staff
The staff are always there if mum needs them. They would do anything you asked. Mum feels safe with them around. If she was to ring the bell, they would be there straight away. They are all very friendly. The food is excellent and a good variety of drinks.
Since my mum entered the care home in June last year she has been looked after extremely well and her health and well being have improved, remarkable in that she was on end of life care when in hospital before joining Little Holland Hall. We cannot praise the staff enough for their care and dedication and for the companionship they have given Mum during the period that the family were unable to visit as a result of COVID. It is so lovely to be able to see her now and appreciate how settled and happy she is. Well done to all at Little Holland Hall - Mum and all the family are so grateful for everything you do.
We are pleased with the care and service. It shows improvement and compassion as every day passes. It has a welcoming atmosphere and visitors pod for short visits. Room is clean and quite big. It's facing a lovely lake. Staff are approachable and they know they are doing.
My father was at Little Holland Hall nursing home for nearly a year, including during COVID. The staff and the manager took amazing care of our father and kept us informed of how he was doing, giving us peace of mind when unable to see him. My father formed great friendships with his carers and I can't thank them enough.
My poor mum was here for just two weeks after they gave her too much medication and she had to go to hospital as they couldn’t wake her! Uncaring home with incompetent staff. Dirty and quite poorly kept building. Very bad communication in all aspects. Do not put your relatives here.
My much-loved dad received wonderful care at Little Holland Care Home. The staff were always welcoming when we visited even throughout Covid-19. We knew as a family that he was being cared for with professionalism, kindness and dignity of which we are grateful for.
My mum was a resident in the home in Holland-on-Sea for 18 months. She always felt safe, valued and cared for. The home atmosphere was warm, happy, friendly and welcoming. All the staff from the manager to the cleaners were polite, helpful and approachable. Her care during her final days was exemplary and as a family, we too felt cared for. I cannot give then enough praise. Thank you so much for everything.

The care was outstanding and she was treated with the greatest of respect. She said she felt safe at Little Holland Hall. I could not exaggerate how good the care has been and I am so very grateful.
'I don't want my dad in a home' I said - how wrong was I! My dad was greeted with such kindness and care from day one and over the 4 months he was there, the care he received was brilliant. The staff became friends on first name terms and made my dad feel at ease and kept his dignity. His choice of food was great and if there wasn't anything he liked, the chef would find something he did want. Everyone, from the manager to the cleaners were lovely. I couldn't have asked for my dad to be treated any better than he was. Fabulous - thank you Little Holland Hall.
All the staff at Little Holland Hall - the manager, nurses and carers have looked after our mother with such kindness and love. Nothing has ever been too much trouble and all the staff always go the extra mile. We will bever forget the kindess and love shown over the 2 and a half year stay up until she very sadly passed away. With heartfelt thanks to all the staff at Little Holland Hall.
