View Full Details of The Oaks Care HomeDad's been here for a year and from the first his care has been exemplary. The staff, whatever their role go above and beyond; be it medical or personal care, dietry assistance, greeting, answering queries of all kinds. Every staff member is cheerful and helpful. Since beginning this, Dad has passed away. The night staff helped and comforted us so well and looked after Dad's last hours like family. Thank you so much.
Mum is very happy at The Oaks Care Home. She has wonderful carers who have now become her friends. The nursing care that she receives is excellent. She enjoys her food and the reception staff are always friendly and welcoming.
My husband was discharged to The Oaks from the hospital in July and I think has settled very well. The staff have taken time to get to know him, they are very friendly to us as a family and welcome us all with a smile, even the dog who he misses. Initially not very compliant, they persevered and he is now up most days and enjoying the company and activities that are provided. I have to add a word about the reception staff. Always a smile when they open the door. A good start to a visit.
In my time in The Oaks Care Home, I have found all the staff very helpful and caring and always put the residents first.
Very clean and comfortable. Friendly staff and I am happy staying here.
My mother moved into The Oaks in September 2023. She was 93 and has several medical issues. We found The Oaks provided exceptional care and was spotlessly clean. All the staff were very caring and made her stay as comfortable as possible. Nothing is too much trouble. Sadly Mum passed away after 6 months. Thank you to all the team at The Oaks in all departments.
I am beginning this review of our experience of The Oaks with the first few moments after we arrived to visit my brother who had been admitted about an hour earlier by ambulance direct from the hospital. We asked about certain things being allowed. The answer: "Of course, it's his home now", touched us deeply. He had been very poorly and confused. The difference from then to the present is largely down to the kindness and care he has received and he is much calmer and contented. Smiling faces greet him and he often tells us how lovely the staff are to him. Facilities are important but the all-important factor is the staff. The Oaks is special!
A very comfortable care home with good amenities and lots of outside space for residents to enjoy. The staff are all very friendly and welcoming to visitors. I really cannot find anything negative to say.
As a family, our review of The Oaks Care Home is one of satisfaction and a warm, lively feeling whenever we come through the doors to see my dad. My mum is here daily and cannot put enough praise on how our dad is being cared for. The facilities, staff and assistance to go that extra mile are very good and thorough. A period of change and uncertainty for my dad, and it's really good to leave off on each visit knowing he is being cared for. Very settling. Thank you all.
My wife was discharged into The Oaks Care Home from hospital in May. I had been wanred her chances of survival were not good and she was on end-of-life care. She has advanced dementia. However, thanks to the love and care of all the lovely Oaks staff, she is still with me. She has put on weight, she eats and drinks, and can now be put in a wheelchair. I cannot thank enough all the levels of staff and nurses at The Oaks for their kindness and love.
From the start me were made very welcome, it is not a bit like a medical establishment but more like visiting a good friend's home. The resident's every need is catered for with love, respect and dignity. The meals are well presented with a good variety and choice. Residents are encouraged to join in stimulating activities, entertainers are invited and also animals visit. They celebrate special occasions and have lots of little treats. They also enquire about the well-being of their visitors. Would be hard to find anywhere better. We are truly blessed.
My husband has been a resident at The Oaks for 7 months. He has Alzheimer's, loss of sight and other physical problems which have rendered him bed-ridden. Our experience is that all the staff from reception to the nurses, carers and house staff have all been endlessly kind, caring, understanding and helpful to us both. There is therefore a special atmosphere of community in the home and inevitable staff changes in the current climate have been absorbed well. There is currently a programme of necessary redecoration in hand by the house staff which is welcome and refreshing the environment. My husband's illnesses preclude him from any participation in group entertainments and activities but generally there seems to be a lot going on. He particularly enjoys his meals which are well cooked and there is a good and balanced variety. It might be helpful to receive regular care plan updates but staff have been willing to discuss queries when requested. Our contact with management has been limited but necessary procedures seem to be in place. I am reassured that my husband is well cared for, comfortable and as happy as his condition allows.
My uncle had a short stay at The Oaks Care Home and as a family, we were very happy. The manager was very comforting and approachable and we felt very safe with my uncle being cared for at this home. I would highly recommend this home to others from our personal experience.
Such a quick turnaround from enquiry to assessment to admission. All staff are very helpful and polite that we came across. We visited the care home and were given a very informative show round. The manager was helpful and the information provided was helpful to our situation. Given the situation, this was a positive experience compared to what we have come across so far.
Wanted to say a big thank you to The Oaks Care Home. Couldn't have asked for a better team to look after my grandad. Every member of staff from nurses, carers and housekeepers to kitchen etc were kind, caring and always welcoming. The manager always had time for a chat and any questions we had were always answered. Thanks once again, you're all amazing.
Lovely care home, as a family we looked at several homes but this one felt right from the moment we walked into the building. Friendly staff who were able to answer all questions asked. The home smelt lovely and was very clean. All residents we saw looked very happy.
My mother needed emergency respite care, from the initial enquiry to admission the staff were extremely helpful. All questions asked were fully answered and we were given a great sense of reassurance. We looked at several homes but The Oaks stood out above the rest. We were able to admit my mother the day after the initial enquiry which was fantastic. When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly smile and shown to my mother's room. We were able to settle in and were given time with the nurse, chef and the manager. We were very grateful and happy with our minds at rest knowing we had made the best decision for my mother to stay at The Oaks. The staff were very friendly, caring and always made us as a family feel welcome. We would highly recommend this home to relatives and friends.
My grandmother was a resident at The Oaks care home for a short period of time. The care both she and my family received was outstanding. All staff were friendly, caring and most helpful when we asked about my grandmothers care. We were always greeted with a smile and nothing was too much trouble. Our family would highly recommend this care home.
My mother was taken into The Oaks Care home in May 2022. The care she was given was second to none. She had a spacious room with a view of the garden. My mother was bedridden and to make her stay more interesting the care staff set up a bird feeding table outside her window, so she could enjoy the birds coming and going. The meals she was served were excellent and she really enjoyed them. One day there was pasta on the menu, which she didn’t like, and mentioned this in passing to a nurse who promptly sent the chef to her room to ask what she would like instead - amazing service! So I would just like to finish this review by saying a huge thank you to everyone who cared for my mother. She sadly passed away on 1st July but had been really happy with the excellent care she was given.
Overall, very happy with the care that my mum is receiving. It has been such a hard 9-months during the pandemic. The face to face visits are going really well, and it's so lovely to be able to hold Mums hand. The staff are all so caring and loving towards my mum, and she seems settled. We are so looking forward to the home helpfully being able to open up more.
