View Full Details of Mountdale Nursing HomeThe family would like to thank all of the staff, both nursing and carers, along with the management of Mountdale Nursing Home for the excellent care, kindness and attention they gave to my aunt & the family during the 3 months she was looked after at the home. The high quality care and continuity of all of the staff, along with the exceptional food, all played a significant role in helping my aunt recover both physically and mentally. With the support & care given, my aunt was able to make a good enough recovery to enable her to go home and live independently again. This was a great achievement, given her condition upon arrival at the home, after a extended period of illness & stay in hospital.
Our dad was recently moved to Mountdale. He was poorly with dementia and had been for some years, he was also difficult to deal with. The staff at Mountdale have been outstanding with him. Patient and caring. Unfortunately today he passed away , but the family have received kindness and consideration to the family. We can't fault this nursing home and would highly recommend to others considering placing their relative here. Many thanks to all staff.
My husband has been in Mountdale Nursing Home for about three and a half years and in that time there have been many improvements and the staff have always been very helpful and friendly and always willing to help.
This home gave my mum tremendous care, with all the staff contributing to her well-being. Having nurses on site meant the NHS district nurse was not required to visit. This, and the excellent local GP, meant any issues could be diagnosed quickly and any further medication swiftly administered, minimising discomfort. The meals are mainly traditional British food, but as my mum liked other types of meals - curry, for example - the manager bought some meals, especially for Mum. Mum required a seat air cushion and the manager promptly purchased a new one. Mum's stay was only short, but the care and then the palliative care were outstanding.
My family and I are so very grateful for the devoted care shown to my late husband. He sadly passed away in the home after just two weeks. The support given to myself and our family was wonderful, we are truly thankful for their kind devotion and for making my husband's last few weeks so comfortable.
After many weeks in hospital Mum was discharged to Mountdale Nursing Home. A member of staff called Dad the moment Mum arrived, even though it was at the busy tea/drugs time, saying we could visit Mum any time that evening to see that she was settled. Mum spent the next 2 weeks there before sadly passing away and I cannot fault the care and dignity that all the staff showed mum. It was obvious that they spent time with her and talked to her as they got her personality spot on within a day or so. Their care, professionalism and compassion shone through, from a smile to greet you at the door to the support we needed at the very end they really could not have done more for Mum or us as visitors.
My mother was cared for with kindness, respect, dignity and professionalism. My son and I were treated very compassionately and the family are forever grateful to the manager and his team for their fine standards.
My mother was a resident at Mountdale Nursing Home for the last ten days of her life. The management and staff team were exemplary in all aspects of her care. She was treated with respect and dignity at all times and I was made to feel welcome too. It was a difficult time for me and I was fully informed in all aspects of my mother’s care. My questions were answered and my wishes were respected. My mother was able to rest peacefully and calmly for which I will be eternally grateful.
My Dad had colon cancer that got worse very quickly with delirium which is a very distressing condition for us all. Unfortunately, he was only in Mountdale Nursing Home for eight days until he died, but the place is very, very homely and the staff are just incredible. They are so friendly and professional and nothing is too much trouble for them. We were treated with total respect and given space to be alone together when it was needed. I spent the final 24 hours with my lovely Dad holding his hand, the staff were just terrific and offered help to us throughout the night. I recommend Mountdale without any reservations at all - it was perfect in every way for our needs. In my sorrow at losing my lovely Dad I am so sure I made the right decision for the last part of his life and that does bring with it a certain amount of satisfaction that I could not have found a more caring and accommodating place for my father to end his days in, surrounded with respect, dignity and love.
The whole journey happened so fast for my Grandad. The owner was incredible from start to finish. Grandad was only in the care home for a matter of days - but it was the most compassionate, caring last few days anyone could wish for. I cannot tell you how wonderful the care home staff were - I cannot thank them enough for the incredible dignity you showed Grandad. Respect to anyone with a care job! They always smiled and gave us all hope, they talked to us as if we were friends. The love and sincerity involved were simply impeccable. The home is clean and DOES NOT SMELL. No request was ever too much. Thank you, to the owner, his son and his team. They made a very hard time for the nearest and dearest a much more capable task.
Our family were so grateful to all the staff at this Nursing Home for the wonderful care and support given to our late mother. Not only was she looked after with compassion and love in the last few weeks of her life, but when the family visited they were made welcome and nothing was too much trouble. We have already recommended a friend to have a look at the home for his elderly father.
My Mum was only in Mountdale for a short period of time but the quality of care she received was outstanding. Nothing was too much trouble for the manager and his excellent staff. My Mum was really worried about going into a nursing home but she was very happy there and they ensured she was very well looked after.
The end of life care my mother received was outstanding. I am a recently retired nursing officer and I could not fault any part of my mother's care. All the staff were lovely, not only to my mother but to me as well at this difficult time. It was clear to me that all the staff had been trained to a high level and their manner whilst carrying out their work was excellent. Nothing was too much trouble in regard to the care my mother received and all written records were always done to a high standard. I was kept informed by the nurses at each vital stage in regard to the end of life plan of care. I cannot praise this nursing home enough as in my career I visited homes that I would not have been happy for my mum to go. Thanks so much to all the team for looking after my mum for the last six weeks of her life.
The care and compassion shown to our Mum was absolutely outstanding. When I came to visit Mountdale while looking for a nursing home I was instantly struck by the caring, genuine staff that I met. I knew instantly that this was where I wanted Mum to be. Sadly she was only here briefly before passing away. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for helping Mum to die in such a dignified manner and thank you for your support to the family as well.
