View Full Details of Abbotts BartonI have been visiting Abbotts Barton for over 3 years. It is by far the most caring and person-centred home from home. The activities are stimulating and fun. The staff work together to provide the best.
My mother had a lovely, quiet, peaceful time at the home. Thank you for everything.
I have found all the staff very helpful and polite.
I have stayed in Abbotts Barton many times due to accidents, I always found them to be excellent in all areas. I am now a permanent resident.
Abbotts Barton give residents of all ages the "home" they will always appreciate, the comfortable personal rooms, service rooms and lounges give pleasure. Physical and mental activity is important and residents receive the best. Strolls and sitting out in the garden is very welcome.
My mum came to Abbotts Barton Care Home in March 2024, discharged in quite a frail state from hospital. She has quite complex needs and is mostly non-verbal. The care, compassion and professionalism of carers and 24/7 kindness to my mum has facilitated a stable and happy lifestyle for her. I visit often at various times during the day and evening and at all times she is being looked after in the most wonderful way.
What a fantastic home Abbotts Barton is! The team have delivered amazing nursing care for my dad who was sadly in hospital following a long period with home care. Everybody has made him feel so welcome, including the other residents, and the support both he and I have received from the staff has been invaluable. There is clearly so much that goes into making the residents feel safe and happy and I feel confident that every detail is covered. The staff are knowledgeable, professional and their communication is very good. When I recently went on holiday, I felt I could relax as Dad was in good hands. In only a month, he has experienced so much more than he ever could at home and is the happiest I have seen him in years. After lunch in the dining room with his fellow residents, he loves sitting in the beautiful garden and is looking forward to the next minibus trip! High praise for all at Abbotts Barton and a big thank you from Dad and I.
I have visited over 3 consecutive days as I live a long way away. I have been impressed by all the staff I have contact with. My friend is not as well as she has been and nursing staff and care staff have been attentive and kind. They also helped me organise wheelchair trips out. My friend has lived here for several years and we have never had any concerns and appreciate the care offered. The carers nursing staff and manager have all been really helpful. Thank you.
It is always a pleasure to visit this care home, where the staff are welcoming and friendly, the environment clean and homely, and there is a lovely sense of community. Residents' spiritual needs are respected, and for those who miss being able to be part of a church family, the monthly communion service and room visits (when requested) seem to be much appreciated.
My experience as a volunteer visitor is always good and I am made welcome. Not all those I visit are happy to be there but all are well cared for and respected.
Excellent experience.
I’m sure that this home is lovely if you are relatively mobile and can do a few things for yourself, or you’re just staying for a short respite while you get better. It’s nicely decorated and has lovely gardens. Unfortunately, my experience over quite some period of time is that the staff did not know what to do with my relative’s very significant physical disabilities and deteriorating condition. I had to prompt them for virtually every single new step they needed to take as needs changed, they were just not proactive enough. The communication between staff was awful. I had to tell staff individually because they didn’t pass messages on or read messages left by others. I put notes up in the room with instructions for staff that were routinely ignored. They damaged things and were messy but no one confessed to it. I had to complain at frequent intervals with little change, I was just constantly reassured that staff were well trained and had my relative’s best interests at heart.
My father originally stayed at Abbotts Barton for a period of respite care, and thoroughly enjoyed himself, taking full part in almost every activity on offer. About two months later, after a fall at home, he returned and was immediately made to feel very welcome. He needed considerable support at that stage, but with gentle encouragement from the staff regained his strength and confidence, and was finally able to walk again. He (and we) have much appreciated the kindness and infinite patience of all the staff, the quality of the catering, and the friendly atmosphere within the home. We feel very lucky that he was able to stay at Abbotts Barton, nothing was too much trouble.
My uncle resided at Abbots Barton for over 18 months, during which time he was offered the privacy he desired while receiving the discreet support he required. Staff were responsive and flexible in making his daily routines and surroundings homely and comfortable. As my uncle became more frail and his need for care increased, the transition from general assistance to full nursing care was met seamlessly with exceptional professional expertise and compassion. I cannot overstate my admiration and gratitude for the kindness and every one of the lovely, caring and dedicated people at Abbotts Barton.
My experiences using the facilities here are first-rate and thoroughly recommend them.
It is now a pleasure to visit my father since he has moved to Abbotts Barton. He is very happy living here.
My mother has recently moved into this wonderful home and from the moment we entered the building she has been shown so much care. Kindness and support from all of the staff. It has only been a week since she moved in and already she feels part of one big happy family. As her daughter this fills my heart with so much joy to know that Mum is so happy and well looked after. Thank you all so very much.
Abbotts Barton has been very welcoming to my 95 year old mother and very supportive to her family. They keep us well-informed and are also very good at managing her complex health issues. I have recommended this home several times and well continue to do so.
My sister and I have been so impressed with Abbotts Barton whilst trying to settle our mother into her new home. The thought and care that has clearly gone into every facet of the home and its daily running for the benefit of all the residents is astonishing. We have witnessed genuine care, concern and politeness from all members of staff that we have encountered. Attention to detail seems to be at the core of your service which is not only fantastic but rare - so rare that we felt it must be publicly acknowledged and praised.
I originally came here for a 2 week trial period but soon realised this was the perfect home for me. I've now been here three weeks and looking forward to staying here permanently. It is such a happy well-run home, the staff are all so cheerful and helpful. You can just feel the warmth of the place when you walk in.
