View Full Details of Brendoncare AltonMy Aunt was wonderfully cared for during what proved to be the last months of her life. She had vascular dementia, worsened by a recent a stroke, but was still very much herself. She joined Brendoncare Alton after a less than ideal experience at a home elsewhere. From our first visit and the warm welcome at Reception we could tell the atmosphere was very caring and positive. The Assistant Manager was excellent, explaining how everything works. The admin office was also marvelous and patient at sorting out the admission, contract, billing etc. We visited often and were impressed each time by the senior medical staff and the care team who were all kind, thoughtful, calm and cheerful (something I'd rarely seen before). They very quickly got to know my aunt and her needs. The local GP support was also excellent. We were happy that she was so content and well cared for and I can't recommend this home and its team highly enough.
Dad was reluctant to go into a home but after 2 weeks of respite care, in Brendoncare Alton, he was more than happy to stay. He is looking healthier and happier and is very pleased with the way all the staff look after him. When I visit him, the staff that I meet are all polite and helpful and happy.
A huge thank you for the wonderful care given to my husband during a short stay for palliative care, weekend 23rd to 27th August 2024. He was cared for by a team of kind day and night nurses, until he died on the 27th. I and my family were dealt with love and dignity from all other members of the staff whilst looking after my husband too, we cannot praise them enough. Brendoncare is a wonderful place very welcoming, warm and friendly in a lovely setting.
My mother-in-law experienced a fantastic eight months at Brendoncare Alton. They "get" dementia. She went from lying in bed at home to partaking in activities she enjoyed in a loving community. I would have no hesitation in recommending this care home to anyone with a relative with dementia. Highly motivated, caring staff who really want the best for those they look after and their families and friends.
I have watched the carers on the wing many times as I visit my wife. They are all endlessly busy, they look for anything that needs doing, anyone who needs help and leap in always with a smile. Thank you so much.
Coming in for the first time, a lovely welcoming atmosphere, 'home from home', lovely ambience. My friend has only been in for a short time and has settled amazingly, food is really good. I shall be booking my place! Perfect room with lovely en-suite.
I thoroughly recommend and thank all the staff Brendoncare Alton for their care, courtesy and understanding help to both resident and family of resident.
My father is 94 years old and has been a member of the Brendoncare Alton community for approximately eight years. He started out in a residents private flat with optional care levels which rose over time. More recently, he has benefitted from close care as his health and ability to get around has deteriorated. At all times of his stay, he has enjoyed a fantastic level of care and attention from the staff and management. They have gone above and beyond what would normally be expected of them. I would definitely recommend Brendoncare Alton to anyone considering moving to a care home of its type.
My wife, who has been a resident here for several months, died today. The kindness, consideration and sympathy all the staff have shown today and throughout her stay has been exceptional. Towards the end of my wife's life, she required frequent attention but at not time did anyone show the slightest annoyance at her constant need of attention. Everyone showed the greatest care and did all they could to ensure her comfort.
My mother has required two periods of respite care when recovering from a hip replacement. We chose Brendoncare because my father is a long-term resident in the home. We were not sure how it would go but it has been a great success. For my father, there is the comfort of knowing that his wife is close by. For my mother it has been easy to visit my father. But each time my mother has come out looking a completely different person. She is a big fan of the food and has put on a few pounds which is a positive. My mother has early stage dementia but it is not easy being in a home when most residents have advanced dementia, despite this, the staff have given my mother all the support she could have wished for and she has coped well, which is a huge testament to the quality of the care that she is receiving.
An excellent facility for dementia patients and their relatives - very compassionate and flexible in helping accommodate, temporarily, the wife of a friend of mine with dementia and cater for her needs as well. She also reports delicious cuisine!
Brendoncare Alton helped us at a difficult time. They were friendly and encouraging from our first meeting. Our mother agreed to leave her home and move. We felt confident that Brendoncare would take good care of her. Every member of staff we met was kind and charming. The nurses worked so hard to stabilise our mother when she arrived and make her last few days more comfortable. Without exception, all the carers were lovely too. Another example of the kindness that runs through Brendoncare is the chef who really wanted to give our mother something to eat that she would enjoy and on the last day of her life, got some delicious ice cream to give her a boost. Our mother loved it and ate it all. I am sorry that our mother didn't have long to settle in and enjoy her time as there is obviously a very positive and lively life to be had. When she died, the night staff were again so kind, reassuring and professional. We had great confidence in them caring for her with dignity.
My mother was a resident at Brendoncare Alton for nine years. Every step has been wonderful. From the moment we arrived, my mother's mental and physical health improved. Through her multiple remissions and illnesses, the standard of care and attention were exemplary. Communication has always been clean and open, any queries quickly and efficiently answered. Access to visit is outstanding. In my mother's final days, the care and respect were of the highest quality. Thank you for providing my mother with a wonderful finale to her life.
I cannot speak highly enough of the experience we have had so far with Brendoncare Alton. They were so supportive with the transfer from another home, meaning our mum is now closer and we can spend more time together. So far we have experienced very kind staff members and a very high standard of cleanliness. There has never been an unpleasant odour, which I feel reflects their commitment to keeping everything hygienically clean. I would recommend Brendoncare Alton to anyone that is looking to find a caring, comfortable home for a loved one.
Brendoncare looked after my brother wonderfully in every way. They went above and beyond our expectations with their kindness, diligence and understanding. We would not hesitate to recommend Brendoncare to anyone needing residential care for both nursing and dementia.
My partner only stayed for four weeks, but everyone was very professional but also very caring. The food was very good and plentiful. The staff were very good at anticipating problems. The facilities were also good.
My mother was a resident at Alton Brendoncare for six years, including five years in the dementia unit, and it was a very positive experience. The staff are incredibly caring and regularly go the extra mile to make a difference for the residents. We looked at other homes before choosing Brendoncare, but I know we made the right choice. Recommended without any reservations.
Spent three weeks, Care was excellent.
It wasn’t an easy decision to place our elderly Dad into a care home but after 3 years with full-time live in care and his health declining, a care home seemed the best option. From initial enquiry, to visiting the care home and to the day Dad went into the care home was seamless. It was a worry how Dad would transition into a care home environment but he is so happy there. The staff are friendly and interact with him and involve him with activities. The best decision was to place him into Brendoncare Alton as the family have peace of mind and know his needs anre being met and Dad is happy and safe in his environment.
I would just like to say that everyone at Brendoncare Alton was amazing. My husband was looked after wonderfully with true care and attention. All the staff were warm and oh so thoughtful and nothing seemed to be too much trouble. Hig progression was superb and although he has loved coming home, he wouldn't be where he is today without everyone's care. Biggest thanks.
