View Full Details of Brendoncare Knightwood CourtA lovely place for respite care, my father needed care whilst my mother recovered from an operation. We found Brendoncare Knightwood Court a lovely caring environment, with plenty of activities and amazing staff. Thank you all for looking after my father.
I have been here four weeks and have found everyone very kind and helpful. I have been impressed with how clean everywhere is. One thing to complain about is the poor Wi-Fi reception.
The staff were wonderful in arranging a respite break for my mother. She had an enjoyable time and is fully agreeable to having a repeat visit later in the year. She particularly liked the polite, accommodating staff and the very pleasant surroundings.
With my father's failing health after a fall, Brendancare took him in to The Court to give him the additional care and support he needed in his final weeks. You could feel the care when you walked in, often to find a carer just gently talking to him or stroking his hand. It gave us all great peace of mind that he was in safe hands for his final journey.
My stay was unexpected due to respite after a hospital visit. Staff have been amazing, very understanding, thoughtful and kind and have greatly aided my recovery. Due to my age, did not expect a stay in a care home but all concerned have made my stay a pleasant experience.
The staff are lovely and helpful. The volunteers are wonderful. I am very grateful to them. The wi-fi is terrible and needs sorting out, it is impossible to communicate with my son and my grandchildren who live abroad.
My mother has been a resident here since July 2020. I have always been impressed with the care she's getting there and the experience for me as a visitor. The latest CQC report singles out the high standard of the food. I've not yet tried it myself! But before moving in, Mother kept piles of sweets and crisps by her bed to have at night as she wasn't eating properly during the day. That doesn't happen now - she's eating really well. From what I can gather, she's generally first in for breakfast in the mornings, which is a good sign. I know she appreciates the choice on offer and the fact she can have something "off the menu" at any meal.
I have been to Brendoncare Knightwood Court Care Home for the last five years, visiting and supporting a friend, first in her apartment and now in the care home. I can not praise enough the teams upstairs in the apartment and the teams in the care home they all do a fantastic job, in fact more than that.
I would like to express my gratitude to all the staff who have interacted with Mum during her fourteen months at Knightwood Court Care Home. I appreciate there are also lots of people that I wont have met such as caterers, cleaners, volunteers and administrators. Thank you to everyone. She was very happy at Knightwood and told everyone about the delicious food and lovely staff who helped her. She also talked a lot about some of the other residents who became her friends here. A particular thank you to the carers who looked after Mum, and me, while she was on her end of life care pathway. Their kindness, empathy and professionalism will remain with me for a long time.
This care home is amazing. The management and staff are very caring and patient with everyone. My mother is happy there and feels safe. The staff seem happy and there is not much turnover of staff. There are lots of activities for the residents to take part in. I feel really lucky we found a place for my mum which is so nice and homely. I think Mum would like a few more trips outside the home if it was possible.
We have been deeply impressed by the kindness and positivity of the carers, especially reassuring, is the relatively low turnover of staff. Those who are long serving, provide a continuity of staffing, which is a great benefit. The security of the site is perhaps not as tight as it could be, as public access is open right up to the individual patio doorways. A gated perimeter would be an advantage. Overall, our experience of Brendoncare has been entirely positive and we have recommended them to others seeking a positive solution to care for the very elderly.
My Mum has been in Brendoncare Knightwood for 3 years and has always been really well looked after by the carers and staff, developing a good relationship with them. She is treated with kindness, attentiveness, compassion and care and her dignity is respected. When I visit, everyone is really friendly, helpful and kind to me, and the management team are always happy to chat when I need to discuss anything with them. My Mum is encouraged to participate in activities and is helped when she struggles. The building and individual rooms are kept very clean and nicely decorated and the gardens and patios are well maintained. Knowing that my Mum is well cared for and in a secure environment means that I don't worry about her and this makes me very happy. The procedures and controls during the pandemic have been excellent, and there have been no Covid cases. I've received regular communications throughout and have always been able to visit. The whole team have been absolutely fantastic.
My mother has been a resident at Brendoncare Knightwood since 2017. She has always received a very high standard of care and the staff are welcoming and keen to help. The accommodation suits her perfectly as there are no stairs to negotiate between her room and the restaurant, day room etc. She also enjoys a garden view with a small patio, ideal for family visits in the current climate. As well as chatting to the other residents, there are many activities available for her to participate in and the food is varied and caters for her specific dietary needs. Overall, Brendancare Knightwood is a safe, friendly and positive environment for my mother and I would highly recommend.
My mother is very well looked after and she says herself that she couldn't be in a better place. All the staff are so kind and helpful. It is very comforting for me, living abroad and not being able to visit so frequently and now because of the corona restrictions, to know that she is taken care of in every possible way. Last year when she became 100 they made a special celebration for her. She has her hair done every week at the hairdresser who comes to Brendoncare, something which means a lot to her. I haven't any problem recommending Brendoncare.
My Mother-in-law has been in Brendoncare Court now for several years. Prior to Covid, we had the luxury of visiting every night, as we live opposite to the home with my husband and 10-year-old daughter, who would often perform a song or dance, much to the delight of the residents. We would end up making teas for 6 or more residents and most of the staff, whilst chatting and laughing, it was a real family atmosphere. We got to know most of the residents, and loved spending time with them, and looked upon them as family. The staff are amazing, and it's great that there isn't a high turnover, so we've got to know them well, and look upon them as our friends. Sadly Covid hit, but Brendoncare handled the situation well, and kept us up to date and well informed.
My mother was a resident at Brendoncare Knightwood Court for over two years until she sadly passed away in February. Mum had led a very independent life until at the grand age of ninety eight, she fell and broke her hip and had to go into a care home. We are so pleased we chose Brendoncare Knightwood Court it is an excellent care home, nothing was too much trouble and all the staff were so thoughtful and caring. Mum was lucky to celebrate her one hundredth birthday last August and although it was difficult with lockdown restrictions, all the staff went out of there way to make it a memorable day. We were able to visit mum regularly as we lived nearby, we were always made so welcome with cups of tea and the staff were always happy to talk to us about mum's day. My mum had a wicked sense of humour, a cheeky smile and we know during her stay at Brendoncare Knightwood Court she never lost that, which shows that she was happy and well looked after. We cannot thank the staff enough for all they did for mum, they always showed great kindness, care and compassion.
My mother was a resident at Knightwood, where she lived for six years until her death in October. Throughout the years the staff treated her with respect and kindness. They understood her desire to maintain her independence and were sensitive to her wishes, and supported her choices. Recently, it was both sad, and yet a lovely experience, as I sat at my mother's bedside for several days as she transitioned towards end of life. To bear witness to their kindness, respectful nursing care and above all compassion towards my mother was truly exemplary. It was evident that they too were saddened by her decline and they would share some of their conversations and challenging experiences they had with her in the past! They were respectful of ‘our’ time and were never intrusive, but a welcome ‘visit’. Their team spirit was evident and supportive of each other. No team bonds without a ‘leader’ to provide guidance and support. They were all ‘giving’ of themselves and ‘present’.
I have been extremely pleased with Brendoncare Knightwood since my mother became a resident 18 months ago. They made her initial assessment very friendly and easy and this made her transition into their care very smooth. All the staff, both admin and carers, are very professional and friendly - superb really. Also, their procedures seem really good - e.g. for issuing of medication and the associated record keeping etc. They've also been really prompt at calling in the GP for my mother when the need has arisen. Additionally, the quality of the accommodation and facilities (for assisted bathing etc) are really good. Finally, they've made a great job of managing the current covid situation and have been really communicative to me about this via regular letters. All in all, highly recommended.
Brendoncare Knightwood Court was home to my mum for just over a year and she was treated with kindness, care and respect. Knightwood Court has a lovely, bright sitting room and dining room but, as Mum's health has failed she just wanted to be in her room. While staff encouraged her to take meals in company while she could, they respected her wishes when she decided she preferred not to do so. She's now reached the point of needing a higher level of nursing care and the move to Brendoncare Park Road has been handled very smoothly. Mum and I are both very satisfied with the quality of the service provided by Brendoncare and the support she is continuing to receive as her needs change.
The whole team at Bredon Care have been so very supportive to my mum. She was made very welcome from our first visit. Each staff member has been so very thoughtful and caring. Thank you so much for everything you do.
