I would like to share my overwhelmingly positive experience at Bury Lodge Nursing Home. The standard of care and the compassion exhibited by both the management and staff had a profound impact on both my mother and myself. Knowing that your loved one is in a safe and nurturing environment provides an immense sense of comfort during such a challenging time. I wholeheartedly recommend this home to anyone in search of the exceptional care home. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff for their unwavering dedication and hard work.
My mum was a resident in Bury Lodge from 21/12/22 to 02/02/23. Although a short stay (she passed away) the care she received was excellent. I visited nearly every day and the staff were friendly, approachable and professional. The care and compassion they had was truly amazing and I knew she was in good hands. Even after mum passed they showed compassion towards me and were extremely helpful when I was going through a difficult time. I made the right decision by choosing Bury Lodge for mum's care especially during her final 2 weeks as she was safe and well cared for and they ensured she kept her dignity, more importantly she wasn't left on her own for long periods as they took the time to sit and chat to her even though she was unable to talk. I know this as many a time I would visit (at any time) and they would be keeping her company. A lovely home with lovely staff so once again a big thank you to all.
Excellent food and drink. Never in six weeks of visiting my wife each day, seen anything but kindness shown by the staff to all the residents. Would recommend the nursing home to all I know.
The staff at Bury Lodge looked after my mum in the last 6 months of her life. The staff are warm, friendly and professional. My mum was very happy and joined in with activities. Visiting was hard during the pandemic but the staff would let me WhatsApp/facetime my mum, she was always happy. The staff couldn't do enough even at the end of life. They made sure mum had her dignity always even after her death. Thank you to all at Bury Lodge.
From everything we have been able to see due to covid, the home is clean,s staff are kind and caring. Dad is well looked after. We feel he is well cared for and safe.
I would just like thank all the staff at Bury Lodge for looking after my sister-in-law (and by extension, our family) in regards to her care for the last 4 years. A special thank you to two particular members of staff for looking after my sister-in-law for the last 4 years, the activities coordinator who goes above and beyond in not only organising events at the home, but also interacting with all patients/family members. As a family we will continue to support Bury Lodge in the future and will continue to support the fairs/events. We eventually found my sister-in-law a home from home where she was happy due to the excellent staff and manager. Thank you all so much to all the staff, management/owner for everything you did and have done over the last 4 years, truly taking a weight from our shoulders and always easing our worries.
An excellent home with dedicated, caring and professional staff.
The staff have a lot of patience and are very friendly, they know the patients likes and dislikes of food and drink etc and are mostly cheerful and happy in their jobs and have good personal care for the people giving them regular baths etc.
All staff are friendly and polite and caring. Activities lady amazing but not enough! Need more one to one in free times.
A small-scale well-run care home in a town setting with views of a well-kept garden filled with plants and flowers. Individual rooms provide everything needed for the comfort of residents and their visitors. Care staff and nursing staff always seem adequately numbered to cover the needs of residents and all are approachable and amiable when relaxed from duties. Food is well prepared, varied and tailored to the needs of each resident. Care staff supervision during meals ensures that those residents who need help get it. As a family, we have no regrets or complaints and feel fortunate that we have found such a caring environment for our needs.
My wife has been a resident of Bury Lodge for over two years so far and I can say that they have been two years of contentment for me knowing she is getting the very best care she could ever hope to receive. She is treated with respect and loving care by all the staff and they are allowed a very great deal of freedom of choice be relaxing eating drinking or just doing what they want within the medical constraints of their conditions. The main comment must be that although she has no memory recall at all she still has a great deal of quality of life and they are all treated as members of one big family.
Bury Lodge is outstanding in every way possible. I am a regular visitor but do not have set times or dates when I can visit and the standard is always the same, which is excellent. My father has been a resident for approximately two years and I have peace of mind knowing that his home is Bury Lodge, as he is so well cared for and he never smiles as much as when he sees any member of the staff coming to help him or working in his sight, he is treated with such dignity, always clean and well cared for and his room is so comfortable and welcoming The manager and team are so helpful, cheerful and most importantly, compassionate to the needs of the residents and visitors, which is important as it is a very tough time when your loved one becomes so ill. I would recommend this home to anyone and want to thank care home UK for allowing me the opportunity to share this information.
All the staff are very caring and pleasant. The food is good, there is a choice and enough to eat. The place is always very clean and tidy. The rooms are cosy and comfortable with private toilet facilities - which is essential. It is nice being able to have some of my own things from home.
Caring staff, my husband has a rash which flairs up regularly and staff keep me informed about this at all times. The staff make time for all the residents, my husband loves where he is and is happy. The home and residents are kept clean, also they provide entertainment and lots of activities which help stimulate the residents. This care home has a family feeling.
My wife has been at Bury Lodge for 3 years and the level of response to her deteriorating condition has been proactive and caring. The staff are proficient at their job in a friendly and caring manner. Improvements to the home and its facilities have been made on a regular basis. The atmosphere from the moment the door is opened is friendly and welcoming. It is in every sense of the word a home.
My mother has been at Bury Lodge for approximately 14 months and consistently throughout that period I have been impressed by the warm and caring approach of ALL staff, from the manager down through all levels of the team. Smiles prevail! Any issues are readily and positively approached and feedback is quickly provided (by telephone if necessary) in cases of illness, etc.. Residents appear to have individual attention as and when appropriate. Similarly relatives and friends are encouraged to visit and embrace all aspects of the home. Regular, and well organised, social events take place, i.e. Spring fairs and Christmas functions, which all helps with the general good atmosphere at the home. I am sure my mother could not be in better hands at his time.
The home is situated in lovely grounds, as soon as you walk through the door you have a lovely feeling that this is a homely place. The staff are just fantastic, they give more than 100% in care, time and love. All I can say is that I am sure there are not many places as good as this one, and I think my mothers words that she says many times "They treat me like a princess" says it all.
My wife aged 76 who was sectioned 3 in August was admitted to Bury Lodge in September 2015. Since being there she has gained weight and calmed down enormously. She was very aggressive before. The manager has been more than helpful and I am kept fully informed of my wife's activity. I have seen my wife relate to the staff positively. The Lodge staff all among activities both in house and visiting places of interest to ensure my wife's life is worth while although she has full dementia. The staff treat my wife as if she was their own mother and it makes me happier knowing she is safe and well. Also they allow a great deal of personal freedom to her when you consider it is a secure Lodge. The staff are the most professional people and are kind and very helpful both to my wife and myself and make me considerably happier that she is in there. I would like to emphasise the staff and especially the Matron are exceptionally cooperative in keeping me up to date whatever happen and also looking after the welfare of my wife. They provide a quality of life where I thought it was all gone.
Staff are very friendly and helpful. The residents are well looked after, they have freshly prepared home cook food daily. There are daily activities and entertainment to take part in if the residents want to. Residents rooms are a lovely size, and you can add a few personal touches to make them feel like their own home.
My husband has been in this care home for nearly seven months and has never been happier. He is clean, well fed and looked after very well. The staff are friendly, caring and efficient. He is stimulated by the various activities going on. I cannot say enough about how "excellent" this home is. It makes me very happy that my husband is well and happy.
