View Full Details of Durban House Nursing HomeThe care my father is currently receiving at Durban House is excellent. The care shown to my father by the team is remarkable given the number of residents they have in their care. I can speak for both my partner, sister and mother whom all visit regularly and nothing is too much trouble for the carers.
I loved the way the staff cared for my dad always tending to him and trying to make him feel safe making him laugh and encouraging to join in activities until he got poorly he was always up and dressed and eating with the others mixing and joining in as best he could the staff put one hundred percent into the job and did there work with love dad has now passed and I know he had the best care. Thank you Durban House for all your hard work.
My Father-in-law has been at Durban House since May 2024, sadly he died yesterday but I just wanted to thank all the staff for their care, compassion and hard work. It is much appreciated and although he could be a little difficult at times they were so patient and caring and for that I thank them from the bottom of my heart. My husband and I agree this is by far the best Home he was in and was as happy as he could be. They made him as comfortable as they could in his final days and made us feel he was really cared for.
Mum settled down very well after a few hiccups. Some days mums is fine and others she is not but the carers seem to cope with her moods. Some carers seem very busy but others sit back. Medically she is cared for very well and its nice they keep us in touch. Nice to see the garden being done.
I love it here. Thank you for all you do for me - thank you.
My friend was transferred to Durban House from another nursing home by his wife, this was because of the lack of care. From what I have observed over the last few visits I have made to Durban House, the staff and level of care are so much better. The staff I have seen show such wonderful compassion and interest in the residents. I saw a vast improvement in him today; he was much more animated and seemed happier. This was such a joy to see. Thank you to the staff, I know it's not an easy job, but I can see you care for the residents.
My father is so happy, the staff are great. He knows everyone and they make him feel normal if you know what I mean, they treat him as normal. Nothing is a problem, we ask for help and they support the family. This is the best care home he has ever been in. He is safe and it's the best for him, even on bad days they really help him.
My husband has been at Durban House for a year. I am very pleased with the care he receives. There is a lovely, warm homely feeling about Durban House. There are lots of activities and the food is very good. The staff are lovely, caring, and kind, and always ready to help with any questions I have. My thanks to all at Durban House.
Overall, very pleased with the staff and the kindness shown to residents, the time they give to help each individual. Very clean, warm and welcoming. Mum is always clean and tidy and well-fed. Daily tea trolleys with cake and fruit are encouraged for residents.
All staff have been caring, friendly and very willing. Mum has been at Durban House for over two years and I have nothing but admiration for the way all staff go about their daily work. They are always so cheerful and there is a very homely atmosphere!
Father had been there a few months, certainly, the right place for him to be, couldn't ask for better. Staff are always polite and friendly.
Very pleased with Mum's care. We receive regular updates for Mum and the home. We used the bistro recently for Mum's birthday, and the family were made to feel welcome, and the home made a cake and the staff sang Happy Birthday.
My mum has been treated extremely well, and all staff have been so caring both to my mum and her family. My mum has been extremely ill recently, and her husband has died, but due to Durban House's care and attention, my mum has just started to enjoy life again.
Mum spent nearly 3 years at Durban House. She arrived there during covid which was difficult for all concerned but once she settled in she was very happy there and well treated. The care staff and management were extremely kind and good to her. From my point of view, I was treated very well by all concerned and kept well informed. At the very end of her life, her care couldn’t have been better and was a great comfort to me and my wife.
I can not thank all the staff at Durban House enough, they are kind, considerate, empathetic and gentle. They have cared for my father impeccably with love and grace. The home has a real sense of calm and warmth. Management staff are also professional, kind and efficient. A special thank you to two staff members in particular, such wonderful people. Many thanks to you all.
I feel my mum is very well looked after at Durban House. The staff are excellent and so very thoughtful and caring. There is a good range of activities for the residents and as a family, we are kept well informed. They have many themed days with the kitchen linking in with the dining options. I would like to thank all the staff a Durban House for their outstanding care.
Mum was at Durban House for six months and sadly passed away on New Year's Eve. I cannot say enough good things about the staff at Durban House. Mum was transferred from another nursing home after a bad stroke in December 2019. Immediately the staff started helping her to do rehab so that she could move better, this is what she very much wanted but hadn’t received at the last nursing home. The two activity ladies are brilliant, they do group activities either in the lounge, the specially equipped room or in the residents' room. They arranged for her to be seen by the mental health team to confirm her diagnosis of vascular dementia. They were very good at tailoring her medication so that she was not too sleepy but as calm and happy as possible. When she was unhappy they were very kind and could easily calm Mum down. They were very flexible with visiting so that we could help Mum with her food when we could. The staff always kept us informed on what was going on.
It is very hard to answer as we were not able to visit the home. I don't know anything about the staff because I can't meet them. I can't answer all of these questions. I'm sure the inside of the home is perfect. The room my wife is in is very nice.
Dad entered the care home system during Covid lockdown, we were unable to view the home prior but are so grateful to them settling him in during such difficult times. He has always been well looked after and we are always updated with progress and of any changes. Thank you.
Having moved Mum into nursing care following a hospital admission for Covid, we have been thrilled with the level of support and care from the team at Durban House. From the daily care to the entertainment provided and even celebrations laid on by the staff for her birthday the team have always gone above and beyond to ensure the residents are treated with care and dignity. The staff also acted very promptly when Mum required further hospitalisation. I would strongly recommend this nursing home.
