View Full Details of Homefield HouseMy husband arrived here early December, and we have both been me with kindness. The care is so wonderful and the staff show so much devotion to their work. It's like a home from home, lovely clean rooms, dining rooms and lounge kept spotless. The main central area is so bright and inviting, you can help yourself to tea and coffee, and meals on request for a small fee, which is great as I spend a lot of time there.
The house is outstanding, the staff are absolutely fantastic, would not want my Dad anywhere else. The care he receives is next to nothing. The care they show him is fantastic. It's clean, smells amazing and I am over the moon he is safe and well cared for.
I wasn't stopping because I wanted mum to settle in but wanted to take a couple of photos/video to take home for my father to see. A member of staff took me to her room I was so amazed at how relaxed mum looked (and comfortable). Sat next to her was beautiful staff member helping her with her tea. It was so wonderful to see how content and happy she looked. She glanced over to the members of staff as if they were familiar loving faces and she even spoke! One member of staff politely returned the banter to her which would have been just an everyday occurrence to the staff member but meant a lot to me it was special. In fact, she was so 'at home and happy there' I had almost forgotten she'd only just arrived about 3 hours earlier! To record the moment and take back to my father made him happy to see as well. Conclusion is that everyone is very happy. Thank you all so much.
The past few months have been totally positive. My husband settled in quickly and is very relaxed with his new carers and nurses. When I or family members visit, we are treated with a smile and made to feel welcome. We are kept updated on my husband's health and are invited to join them for some activities.
I have nothing but praise over the past few months for the entire team. They are always well-informed and keen to share positives and things that have been more difficult promptly. The greatest testimony of all is how long some of the staff have worked at Homefield. You wouldn't stay for all those years if this was not a great experience for residents and staff. Thank you all for everything you do.
Quite happy here. Staff are all very pleasant. I enjoy the food. I enjoy taking part in the activities offered.
My mum has been in Homefield since 2022 and the care provision has been outstanding. She has very specific needs and these are taken care of in a very professional and caring manner. I couldn't have hoped for more. More recently my dad has joined her and, again, he is being looked after with great care and attention and he has settled in very well, despite previously being very anxious to maintain his independence. It is comforting to see them both together and my dad gets to sit with his wife whenever he likes. A marvelous service and a fantastic environment. Everyone working there deserves a medal.
I am always greeted well. Staff are very friendly. The ones that look after my mum are always very kind to her and make her laugh, smile - when she is awake. My mum cannot do any of the activities as she is bedridden and, unfortunately, sleeps a lot of the time. There is a mat by her bed which if stood on will set an alarm off.
My mother has settled well into Homefield House. The staff are brilliant and are very caring towards all in the home. The kitchen produces really good food for all. All staff know the residents and chat as they pass through the home. My brother and I are more than happy with Mum's care and we are always kept informed of Mum's care. A warm and comfortable place for all.
This care home is excellent. My mother has been a resident with dementia here now for 3 years. The home is managed very well and the carers know my mum's needs/ways inside out. The nursing staff are great and a GP is always consulted for any signs of illness. I love the fact that this is a small facility which provides a cosy and homely atmosphere. Homefield House has recently been refurbished to a very good standard with much consideration to the residents. They have done a great job in updating the facilities including redecoration and alarm system amongst many other things. There are regular activities and fun events for those who wish to join in at the home including parties, pantomime, regular small activities during the week with a trained member of staff and animal visits. They recently went on a boat trip, enjoying fish and chips on the way home. Mum loved it. My mum is settled and I am content to know that she is in very safe hands. Thank you all.
The care provided at Homefield House is honestly the best I have ever come across. The carers really know each individual patient and their ways, what they like and dislike. They provide the personal touches that make the residents feel at home. It really is like a family. The carers always have a smile and are simply there, providing assurance to the residents. The layout of the home is neither too big nor too small, with a walkway through the middle which many a resident enjoys. There are shows, owl visits, parties and other activities providing fun for those who want to join in. Or they can sit quietly listening to the radio. The management team are always there to reassure, provide advice and answer questions for which I am really thankful. Thank you everyone for making my dad feel cared for and content in his last years.
My experience of my care home is excellent. I am well cared for by all carers, nurses and management.
This is my mother's first experience in a care home. She is currently being assessed for mild dementia and severe mobility issues and is in rehab care. She is very complimentary about the staff and the care she receives and is enjoying the food. She joins in with arranged activities and visitors and pets are warmly received by the team at the home. Children are also welcome. The home itself has recently been refurbished and the fact that it is quite small adds positively to the overall experience. Mum's overall health has visibly improved during her short stay here. I would recommend this care home to anyone with a family member suffering from dementia issues.
My mum moved into Homefield last month and has settled in very well with the staff very welcoming to me as mum’s previous main carer. They’ve been so accepting of tips on providing the best support for mum’s needs. All the carers have been so caring and gentle with mum who suffers from severe dementia and anxiety.
I like living here, I get on with staff.
My wife and I have much experience of care homes and the family atmosphere of Homefield House Care Home is its major asset. It is a pleasure to visit as all the staff make you most welcome.
When our family member was transferred to Homefield House after a long stay in hospital we could see really quickly an improvement in their appearance and well-being. Our family member is not the easiest to deal with, but the home has found ways to deal with him in a dignified manner.
It is difficult to say how my Father is as he is in the late stages of dementia and is often very confused. Sometimes he is exhausted simply by the process of getting up. Although I love to see him I sometimes feel that he has been got out of bed just because I am coming to see him and I would rather he stay in bed and sleep as this is the only respite for somebody as poorly as he is. The team are caring and he is obviously treated well as he has smiles for everyone.
My mother has been resident in Homefield for the last 18 months. I have worked for over 20 years in services for older people and so am very familiar with a range of nursing homes and I feel really fortunate to have found Homefield House. There are some really good, caring staff and I've always had a warm welcome and feel satisfied that my mum has good care. I think one member of staff is particularly brilliant, initially in our time, as Deputy and now Home Manager. I don't know how she does it but she has always been calm, sensible, responsive and helpful despite what I imagine can be quite a busy and challenging job at times. Thank you.
Mum was accepted for care and support into Homefield, during the start of covid restrictions in March 2020. During her stay at Homefield, she received professional care and emotional support from your great staff and colleagues. Your dedicated staff brightened her way of life during her stay with you, and the family thank you so much. We were so fortunate to see mum during her stay, as was located in a front room of Lavender, which provided family relief during this so difficult time of covid and also raised mum's spirits. Would certainly recommend Homefield, as have a caring team who provide a so important service for our loved ones.
