View Full Details of Kitnocks HouseThe staff are excellent. The care and nursing staff are helpful, kind, hard-working and extremely good at their jobs. All the other staff; cleaners, kitchen staff and maintenance team are all excellent with the residents, treating them with kindness and consideration. My husband has been at Kitnocks for about 3 months and he settled quickly and is as happy as I hoped for. I am very grateful for his excellent care.
One small criticism is that the two lovely terracotta tubs on each side of the main entrance were full of weeds when we arrived and made a poor impression on arrival. I was delighted to be allowed to plant them up and am happy to continue as I have been told people appreciate the flowers. I do wish there were more activities which involved handicaps but am not sure my husband could take part. Thanks.
My husband has only been a resident for 1 month and therefore it is still very early days. This obviously means that my review is based on limited experience of Kitnocks House at this stage and thus I have left a couple of options blank in the ratings. I have been impressed by the helpful, friendly approach by all members of staff whom I've so far encountered and although my husband is still not entirely happy being a resident I can tell he is well cared for and treated with dignity and respect.
Good check-in (my relative) and greeting by a friendly, helpful receptionist, guided and admitted by staff member (who unlocked five doors) to room, pleasant, clean atmosphere and surroundings, attractive pictures, TV in room controlled by patients. Comfortable visitor seating. Tea transported by staff member who adjusted well to head height and supplied feeder (against spills). Tea offered to visitors. Carers competent, showing link with patient, spoke competent English, and available at end of visit to conduct us on return to entry point. Adequate car parking available. Seasonal flowers at entrance. Good impression of brightness and efficiency.
I welcome this opportunity to say a big thank you to Kitnocks House for looking after my husband. It is such a tremendous relief to know that his needs are understood and are being met with not just the right kind of care but with loving care. Our family also feel this. We know he is in the right place. Bless you all.
I cannot speak highly enough in regard to Kitnocks House. My mum has had the very best of care and I can see just how much that has affected her feelings of comfort and safety as well as my own. The staff are just incredible, they go above and beyond and make sure the residents and their families are looked after. I can relax knowing Mum is in the best place possible. Thank you, just doesn't seem enough but I do thank you all from the bottom of my heart, you are all 'Angels'.
My husband has now been at Kitnocks House almost eighteen months now. At first, he was very aggressive but due to good care, has since settled down a lot and hopefully will continue to do so.
Staff too busy inputting data into electric devices to know where all residents were. Sister-in-law was in her room in bed waiting for a sling review. She was not given a drink or access to a drink all the time I was there until I asked. Other residents in the lounge were showing signs of irritability, not picked up by staff. Resident stimulation needs to be addressed, not just nail painting and television. The home generally has poor leadership. I appreciate agency may need to be used but adequate supervision is a priority.
The care and dignity shown to my husband is second to none. Staff are very kind and friendly and have also helped me a great deal at such an emotional time. My husband settled in very well which removed a lot of my stress. The garden is beautiful and activities are great. I would not wish my husband to reside anywhere else.
First thing you notice there's nice staff to book you in. It's clean and no unpleasant smells. The care staff are very friendly and the people seem yo be happy.
Care homes have had some bad press since the pandemic, this care home is exceptional. Always a smiling face and all so thoughtful.
My wife, myself and our two adult sons were extremely concerned about my wife moving into Kitnocks House. These concerns were removed within 30 minutes of entering the front door. The management team and staff put my wife and family at ease. We are treated like family now and the staff and management are so caring and considerate. Thank you so much.
With Mum having been diagnosed and living for just over 10 years with dementia unfortunately the time came reluctantly to place her in a home. It felt like a lifetime, but 4 homes later she entered Kitnocks House and was finally in the right place. Not only did the staff look after her with true care, but they were able to put a smile on her face despite the dementia and both my sisters and I could finally feel at ease knowing she was safe.
My husband was moved to Kitnocks House in October 2017. I cannot recommend them highly enough. They treat residents with the utmost dignity and care. My husband has been so happy here and it’s all down to how the staff treat them like their own family would want to be treated. Well done Kitnocks House.
My father has been a resident at Kitnocks House for approximately three months now and I cannot fault the care he is receiving. He has complex needs and all the staff just take this in their stride in what can be very stressful situations. They are all extremely friendly and treat the residents with respect and indeed the families. They keep you informed of everything and are only too happy to chat things through at any time. While my father will never improve, he has looked the best and healthiest I have seen him since his accident 12 months ago. The last 18 months have been difficult times for Kitnocks and while I have not been involved until recently, I gather that they have had problems with some of the policies they have had to implement but I am sure they have done their utmost to keep residents safe and tried their best to accommodate families to the best of their abilities. They do not deserve to have these issues as it seems they go out of their way to help both residents and families.
My sister and I have been so grateful to all the staff at Kitnocks for the care, compassion and affection they've given to our mum. She loves the pamper sessions and enjoys sitting with the staff chatting away whilst they do their work. This period during lockdown has been testing for everyone, but it's been such a comfort to know Mum was being well looked after, and I was able to still speak to Mum on the phone or over organised FaceTime calls. Thank you!
I am forever grateful and thankful for Kitknocks House where my husband is living. He has lived in Kitknocks since May 2020. I can not thank the manager enough, the nurses the family liaison officer and the amazing and hard-working care staff for the awesome support they have given my husband to settle in a new and unfamiliar surrounding which have turned out to be a fantastic home for him. It has been an extremely difficult year for all of us but has been bearable due to the dedication, care, love and support from the manager and all staff at Kitknocks. A very huge thank you once more to an amazing team. I feel that my husband is safe and professionally cared for. Thank you, great team.
The care my dear husband has had is of the highest quality with all aspects of his daily life taken care of. I speak as a loving wife and a retired nurse. My sincere thanks to every single person.
The home is lovely, easily accessible and clean. Moreover, the carers are amazing. They give care in a thoughtful and compassionate manner. We have been lucky to have our father here.
I have visited Kitnocks House many times and have always found the staff to be friendly, efficient and polite. On the downside, there is a nasty odour when you walk through the men's section.
