View Full Details of Cedar Lawn Nursing HomeI moved here from a sheltered home in London. Everyone here is so kind and I feel wanted. The food is excellent.
I have always been welcomed by the staff when visiting and treated with respect. The staff are cheerful and friendly. The care was managed very well at the end of life and every comfort was available. The resident was entirely satisfied with the help he was given.
The staff are very welcoming always happy to have a chat even the chefs. Always clean and tidy. If anything wasn't right that was upsetting to my mum they will do their utmost to sort. They has a lovely fayre recently and was thoroughly enjoyed.
My Aunt has been warmly welcomed into this care home and very quickly said she wouldn't want to go back to her old home. All staff are friendly, have helped her settle in, they ensure that she eats well, and encourage her to join activities. Her friends were happy to visit too as they weren't sure what to expect. Thank you to you all.
The staff was very helpful from the initial visit through to managing admission and the settling in period. Nothing is too much trouble and communication is good. Such a relief! We are very happy with our choice and it is indeed a home from home. Thank you!
Cedar Lawn is a very caring home and has a real family atmosphere. The food is all cooked on-site and they cater to all needs. Currently, there is a lack of outings due to a minibus not being available - this needs to be sorted. It will make such a difference to the residents to be able to go offsite. The carers are always friendly and listen to any concerns. When visiting I am always made to feel welcome. I feel that the organized activities are fun and interactive. They do their best for all the residents.
The staff are caring and provide care and emotional support which has made the transition from home to Cedar Lawn much easier than I expected. Overall a very nice place to reside.
My sister was cared for at Cedar Lawn from the 9th of February after her discharge from the hospital. The manager and her team looked after her extremely well. The food was excellent, the staff caring and attentive and she was very comfortable there. Having seen several nursing homes over the years Cedar Lawn is one of the best I have been to.
Cedar Lawn Nursing Home was so much the perfect place for our mum. She wasn’t in a good place when she arrived there and was on the decline. Sadly, within two weeks she passed away, but during her short time there the care, compassion, professionalism, and respect shown to her by every single member of staff was first class. From the manager and her assistant, the lead nurse and her staff, the carers, the auxiliaries, through to the cook, the maintenance guys, every one of them were kind, thoughtful and considerate in their approach to their roles. Thank you Cedar Lawn for making Mum so comfortable and cared for in her final days. My sister and I, and our families, are so grateful to you, hopefully from this you can work out who we are!
My mother moved into Cedar Lawn nursing home during covid restrictions but settled quickly because the staff are kind and thoughtful. The rooms are clean and nicely decorated and mother’s room has big windows overlooking the lawn. The Chef cooks meals which are always freshly cooked and appetising and the residents eat together in the dining room. The nursing staff deliver excellent care and I am informed immediately of any medical issues. The activities coordinator provides a cheerful atmosphere with creative activities which are ability appropriate, this is key to keeping residents engaged and mentally active and is a difficult task with a group of elderly residents who have different levels of physical and mental capacity. The activities room is airy with plenty of light and space to store craft materials. I am always made to feel welcome and many of the staff have worked there for several years as there is a happy family atmosphere where people care about each other.
Cedar Lawn is a lovely and caring home, and my aunt is settling in well. She found it strange initially to be away from home, but the staff could not have been kinder. Her room is lovely, but it is the staff who make the home so special; they are all so friendly and caring. Various events have been arranged with lots of thought to make them special. And finally, the food is amazing! The chef prepares restaurant-quality food and bakes the most beautiful cakes. I am very happy with the care provided at Cedar Lawn.
I would just like to say that I thought the coffee morning here was absolutely lovely. The staff were so kind and attentive. The cook had made delicious cakes and it was all beautifully arranged. Thank you all so much for a lovely morning.
My uncle was transferred to Cedar Lawn following a fall and surgery for a broken hip. Staff could not have been more helpful; an assessment visit was arranged immediately and a room made available pending his transfer. A potentially very stressful situation was managed to perfection. Staff were always very accommodating and welcoming, with some going above and beyond to provide companionship, enrichment and care.
My husband has COPD, bladder cancer, kidneys have packed up, he is 81 and was taken into hospital on the last day in May. He is at end-of-life and I thought I would always have him at home but things escalated and the doctor told me I couldn't manage anymore at home. He hates being at Cedar Lawn but this is not a fault of them, they have done all they can in every way but it's not home. Security is good but no money is left there. Activities, he is just in bed but I can see the staff do their utmost.
My mum became a resident at Cedar Lawn Nursing Home in January 2023 following a hip fracture. From my first phone call and visit, I felt a very friendly, helpful and warm welcome from all the team. I have had excellent feedback on how Mum has settled in. Questions and issues raised have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. The 'resident of the day' opportunity to share about Mum is a positive initiative, I found it very useful. Thank you all for your care shown to Mum
Cedar Lawn NUrsing Home has been amazing at looking after and caring for my mum in the final months of her life.
