My son, who had severe MS, was a resident in the Thalassa Nursing Home for over 10 years (he recently passed away). During his stay in the Thalassa he was treated in a friendly, compassionate manner and the fact that he survived for over 10 years with this most demanding medical condition is testimony to the standard of the superb care in the Thalassa Nursing Home. There is simply no better Nursing Home in the area.
My wife has been at Thalassa for just over 10 years, in that time mainly due to Covid there have been many changes of personnel. The home has recovered well and the overall care is now excellent in all respects I’m pleased to say. The new manager has brought the facilities and decor up to a much better standard, it feels more comfortable and homely. The staff overall are very receptive to the needs of the service user and listen to any constructive suggestions I may make. The owners of Thalassa are very approachable and visit the home on a very regular basis so communication is extremely good and they appreciate your input as a regular visitor.
My mum was transferred 5 weeks ago to this lovely nursing home. I have to say how very impressed my brothers and I are. Mum and us were given a warm welcome, staff are so very friendly, lots of smiles and laughter and go that mile to ensure Mum is comfortable. Also the care they are giving to our mum is excellent. Management and admin are very informative, helpful, and friendly. I highly recommend this nursing home.
My father spent his last 9 months of life in Thalassa care home. I cannot thank all the staff enough for the love and care they showed to my dad and the wider family. Nothing was ever too much trouble and my dad was cared for so much, until the end.
My father spent his final weeks in Thalassa Nursing Home, upon his arrival to his passing he was treated with the utmost respect and care. The management and staff were extremely helpful and friendly. I went every day to see Dad while he was there and never once was I made to feel in the way. I must add the home is extremely clean and always smelt fresh and the residents' rooms cleaned every day, the House keeping staff were lovely. The kitchen staff were also excellent and the food looked lovely. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I wish to thank each and every one of the staff for looking after my dad with the respect and care he deserved.
My late mother was a resident at Thalassa for several years, she received exceptionally good all-round care to end of life. I, therefore, was delighted that a room was available for my elderly friend for whom I hold POA. My friend is 87 years old and was admitted to hospital suffering from self-abuse and severe weight loss. She lived a life of seclusion and was very nervous at the thought of leaving her home. How ever, within a week of care and support from the manager led team at Thalassa, my friend was in tears with happiness and declared “ I am so happy and never want to go home “. The care given to residents in so many ways is very good, respect for confidentiality and privacy, good, plentiful home-cooked meals, professional nursing care and most importantly for myself communication. Yes, it is not the most modern building with glitzy decor but that is overshadowed by the caring and homely atmosphere. All of these components give me peace of mind that I made the correct choice.
My mum became a resident of Thalassa in November 2017 following the closure of another care home (she had been there only 6 months). From the start, the manager and her team were extremely welcoming and supportive, especially to my elderly father who visited most days. Mum suffered from advanced Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia, among other things. Through his own failing health, dad joined mum in June of this year as a resident. Sadly we lost mum just recently in October, but throughout, the entire team have been helpful, supportive and frankly, like an extended family. If I had to make the decision again of where to put either of my parents, I would not hesitate to choose here. They continue to support dad, keeping a closer eye following the loss of mum which allows me to sleep soundly, knowing he is in their safe hands. Following the loss of mum recently, Thalassa were kind enough to offer to host the wake following mum's funeral which was a lovely touch, but even more than that, they offered to cater for the event to! How thoughtful is that!
The staff here are absolutely wonderful; they have treated my Grandmother with incredible care and dignity. My Grandmother is provided with excellent home cooked meals which have brought back her appetite and she is looking well nourished. Her room is wonderfully clean, light and airy. I cannot recommend this care home enough; a wonderful place.
My mum moved into the care home at the end of December due to ill health. The care she received was wonderful. Nothing was too much trouble from the nurses to the care assistants. The food was plentiful and a good variety. Prior to moving into the home my mum was in hospital. She was very happy while she was in the Thalassa and loved all the staff who often just popped in for a quick chat in between doing their duties. My mum passed away in early April and during the last week of her life, I could not have asked for more. The staff all showed total respect and genuine love towards her. It was a difficult time for my family and myself but the staff helped to get us through each day. I cannot thank the manager and her team enough for the care they provided. I would not hesitate in recommending the Thalassa.
Dad went to Thalassa after a spell in hospital. The care he received was top class. The staff are so friendly and caring, nothing was to much trouble Food was excellent and plenty of it. The home was very clean and comfortable very welcoming.
