View Full Details of Westacre Nursing HomeAfter my mother having very poor professional care before coming to Westacre, not eating, drinking, mixing, with no quality of life since being at Westacre, she has a new quality of life thanks to the care she now receives. She is eating, drinking, joining in the many activities and making friends. She now has a very happy and active life which I can't thank all at Westacre for enough.
The nursing home at all times exceeds most expectations with a friendly family, inviting, nothing is too much trouble attitude and all staff go above and beyond their normal duties to please both residents and relatives alike in aspects of dealing with a vastly complicated and fully time-consuming change in your loved one's new life requirements, whatever they may be! Every resident is treated with equally loving and genuine respect of both caring and mentally, providing for all needs and open to all opinions and suggestions.
The staff At Westacre are amazing. They go above and beyond to ensure that my father is happy and well cared for. The home is very well set out, there is a garden the residents can enjoy. There is lovely artwork on the walls. It has a home-from-home feel.
The atmosphere on entering Westacre is always welcoming and friendly. The staff ready to oblige, the place immaculately clean, the residents appear well cared for. Each resident is treated individually according to their needs, with kindness and patience.
My husband was admitted in January 2023, straight from hospital. It came as a shock to me. I was unable to be there the day he was moved, but the next day, when I saw him, I just knew I had nothing to worry about. All the kind and very helpful staff made me welcome. I was shown around, introduced to various people and everything was explained to me. I was told I could stay as long as I wanted. Members of staff put on activities every day. Residents can join in if they feel up to it. Every other Wednesday afternoon there is live entertainment, a singer, musician etc. The joy music brings to all, singing and dancing, is terrific. To me, it is like coming home. Almost every time I arrive, I smell the most wonderful foods cooking, (wish I was eating here too). I’ve yet to see someone standing idle; they are assisting residents or cleaning and dusting. You could eat off the floors, Westacre is spotless. I wish Westacre well and thank everyone from the bottom of my heart.
A very clean and tidy nursing home where patients are kept safe and very well cared for. The staff are very kind and interact well with the patients. Also whilst I have been visiting I have seen many different activities going on during the day. I would highly recommend Westacre Nursing Home.
Westacre provides a lovely calm environment and was always spotlessly clean. The staff were welcoming and kind. We felt complete confidence that my mother was safe and well cared for. The staff were so caring and gentle with my mother and were very good at communicating with us about any issues.
Westacre Nursing Home is a very pleasant place to visit and I am very satisfied with the care my mother receives there. I've found everyone to be immensely welcoming, thoughtful and kind. The nursing staff and carers are attentive to my mother's comfort and safety and demonstrate their interest and concern for her well-being at every stage. It is very reassuring to know my mother is in such good hands. I can't thank the staff - management, reception and administration, nurses, carers, cleaners and everyone else - enough. They are very special people.
Staff at Westacre Nursing Home are professional and polite whilst maintaining the dignity and safety of residents within their care. The cleanliness of the home is excellent and does not have the “stereo typical nursing home smell” it has a bright airy homely feel to it, I have peace of mind that my Nan is being well looked after with person-centred care being upheld at all times.
The home is clean, warm and welcoming. It really has a homely feel to it. The staff are always kind, considerate and professional. You can tell they are passionate about what they do and the difference they make to peoples lives in a positive way is immeasurable. The standard of care my father has received has been exceptional and they truly see the individual. The home-cooked food always smells lovely. I absolutely would recommend Westacre Nursing Home. The home manager is always approachable and kind and keeps me fully updated which I truly appreciate and value. I can not speak highly enough of the whole team. As a family, we are very grateful that my father calls Westacre home. We know he is well looked after and cared for and the peace of mind that gives us is priceless.
My mother moved into Westacre in mid-July and she and her family are delighted with the home. Its strong reputation in Winchester for kindness and for respecting the dignity of its residents is richly deserved. The staff, starting with the manager but running through the whole operation, could really not be more caring or more kind. Nothing seems to be too much trouble, and they have been outstanding in working with my mother's GP and our family in making sure that her complex medical needs are met. On the evidence of the first six weeks, this is a compassionate and highly competent operation.
My Uncle was admitted to Westacre Nursing Home after been in hospital for several weeks and it was sadly decided that he would no longer be able to live on his own. Westacre came highly recommended by a friend of my Uncles. The care he has received has been exemplary. The staff are really caring and thoughtful and my Uncle has settled in very well and seems to be happy there. Thank you so much for the wonderful care and attention he is receiving.
My Mother has been a resident of Westacre since November 2019, after suffering a stroke and the onset of Dementia and unable to live independently. A reluctant resident, to begin with, all staff have worked with Mum and me to settle her. Staff caring for Mum are always kind, gentle and treat Mum respectfully. Staff have listened to me and taken onboard Mum’s likes, dislikes and her idiosyncrasies in her personality and worked with them to make Mum’s life a happy one. Communication during Covid-19 has been helped immensely by staff taking the time to FaceTime and supporting Mum with visits through the window. Grateful to all staff who keep Mum safe throughout the pandemic and promote Mum’s health, wellbeing and humour. Westacre’s management of Mum and their communication has been excellent. The best of Westacre are the carers, who have been consistent since Mum arrived. The home is clean, bright and welcoming. Cannot rate Westacre highly enough.
I have found the staff to be very pleasant and helpful. Westacre is very tidy and clean environment. The rooms are a good size. The food is excellent and there is a feeling of safety and security.
Occasional lapse in communication from management regards doctors assessments/falls etc. Day staff/carers very helpful and caring/attentive towards parents. Patients are not encouraged to go outside, a short walk around the garden may be beneficial?.
I was made to feel very welcome and at home. The staff were friendly and helpful and were very patient when dealing with 'difficult' residents. Nothing was too much trouble.
My relative is well cared for and we receive phone calls when necessary. An ideal place where my relative is happy, where everything is done for them.
My mother arrived at Westacre extremely distressed and anxious due to her dementia condition. The staff have been fantastic with her, incredibly caring and always around to talk to me through my concerns. My mother was previously at another local care home which could not provide such a level of service. There is a consistency of staff and they work hard at providing a stimulating diverting environment.
Mum is beautifully looked after. She feels safe and secure and the staff treat her with great dignity. She was recently in hospital and was able to come back to Westacre after three days and nursed back to health. Her care was of the highest quality. We feel very happy she is looked after so well in Westacre.
Westacre is a caring and friendly home with extremely professional staff both nursing and caring.
