View Full Details of White RockMy mother-in-law was a resident at White Rock for nearly 3 months, until she passed away in her 95th year. She was bedridden, and in a very poor state of health during that time, but the home manager and all the staff looked after her with great care and compassion. We could not have asked more of them.
Very caring and welcoming. Supportive through a very difficult time, not just for the resident but also the family.
Always made to feel welcome when we visit mum. The staff are all very friendly and cheerful. Mum seems to be happy and loves doing activities like singing, making scones etc.
We find the home very welcoming and homely, Mum has settled in very well and not only is she happy every time we visit, which is several times per week, she always comments on how well she is cared for and how nice the staff treat her. We find the care excellent and the staff genuinely caring, nothing appears to be too much trouble and visiting is not restricted, which is a blessing for us. We are always welcome with the offer of drinks and an update on Mum's situation, if ever there are any concerns we are contacted immediately. We are so pleased we chose White Rock for Mum.
My wife has Alzheimer's disease, she has been a resident at White Rock nursing home for two years. I visit her regularly and have observed that her treatment by the medical team and carers is carried out to the highest of standards and she is very happy there. With her having this disease she is not very responsive to what is going on but the carers always include her in all activities to help stimulate her. They keep her clean and tidy and help her with food and drink intake. I am very pleased with the home in every way.
A very friendly and caring team that strives to ensure a cheerful and happy atmosphere prevails. Excellent nursing staff that do everything possible to resolve whatever issues arise.
I have known my friend for many years. She now suffers from severe dementia. Her care and welfare are excellent, although she can be extremely difficult. The staff are always welcoming. The nursing home is clean and every resident I have seen is receiving the care that is appropriate.
Dad was transferred to White Rock from hospital for rehabilitation after a broken hip. The care he received was outstanding, sadly dad was too weak and did not recover, but in the time he was there, he was cared for with respect and kindness. Additionally, the care and support given to myself and Mum by all the staff during this difficult time was appreciated and made the situation more bearable. The building may not be new, but the care given by the staff was outstanding and I doubt you could find better.
I would, with all my heart, like to say a huge "thank you" to all the staff at White Rock for the genuine kindness, care and compassion that you showed to my darling husband from the moment he arrived until the day I lost him. Nothing was too much trouble, especially towards the end when he was never left on his own. There was always someone by his side, holding his hand, offering kind and comforting words. Everyone has been so kind and supportive towards me. I have been truly touched by your kindness and care. My husband couldn't have asked for better care. He was very happy with you. I will never forget what you all did for him and me. God bless you.
White Rock is simply the best care home I have come across. I work with dementia patients in my job. My father is currently a resident at White Rock. I am so very impressed with every member of staff, not just the manager's care staff but the people who don’t get much praise ie the cooks, gardeners, domestic staff who are the backbone of a home that makes it clean and welcoming. The activity staff are second to none. In a day and age where homes are under such scrutiny and many are highlighted for there failings, White Rock has taken on these challenges and provides a comfortable, safe, kind and relaxed environment where residents are able to spend there remaining years being looked after.
I never thought mum would have to go into a care home. Always fiercely independent, even with her dementia, the thought of a care home was never even talked about. Sadly, after a long stay in hospital and rapid deterioration, the truth hit me and a nursing home was the only way forward. Now the difficult task of choosing the right place for Mum. I was incredibly emotional and found it all difficult to come to terms with. On both my visits to White Rock, I received a warm welcome and made to feel that this would be right for Mum. After only a few days, as a resident, it was clear that I'd made the right decision. Mum would be happy here and well looked after. All the staff, without question, are incredibly caring and it's obvious they enjoy and take a lot of pride in what they do. I have no idea how long Mum has but I do know that her quality of life couldn't be better than it is here. Thank you White Rock.
We have received nothing but excellent help, advice and support since our first contact with White Rock. Their standards of care over the past three years have been consistently higher than we had ever expected from a care home. As we do not live nearby, knowing my godmother is so well cared for gives me peace of mind. Highly recommended.
Our mother has severe dementia and White Rock has been wonderful. The staff, of which there are plenty, are very attentive, supportive and kind. This is a nursing home that prioritises care and stimulation for its clients/patients. The staff turnover is very low too which really helps Mum and is more evident of a "happy ship". I would most happily recommend White Rock very strongly.
We are happy with the care my mother has received over the period she has been in White Rock. The atmosphere is homely and welcoming and the staff are dedicated and know the residents well and anticipate their needs accordingly.
All the staff are very supportive and show much kindness to the residents, even though some of the behaviour is challenging. All the residents are very clean and appropriately dressed.
I live near Manchester so don't see my friend very often. I am very satisfied with her care at White Rock nursing home.
White Rock has always genuinely cared for Mum; she couldn't be in better hands. Always made to feel welcome whatever time I arrive. All family members welcome. Also, even great-grandchildren. Always kept informed of any doctor appointments etc made for Mum or any change in her condition. Always lots of entertaining things happening too, although, sadly, Mum can't participate.
My mum has been a resident of White Rock for 10 months. When she first moved there, I was very nervous and unsure on her behalf. Sadly, she is unable to make any of life's decisions for herself anymore. I need not have worried, she is looked after by people who time and time again show how much they care and respect her, she is now having to be cared for in bed. I know that I can trust all at White Rock to make my mum's final days as happy and as comfortable as possible.
This wonderful nursing home has provided a caring environment for my dad to reside. I've witnessed a noticeable improvement in my father's dementia symptoms during the first few months of his stay and I put this down to him feeling comfortable, happy and safe. I visit on varied days and times and the ethos instilled in the staff is amazing. They obviously care for the residents as far as their daily needs but it's obvious to me that they really do care. The rapport and banter with the residents, each one an individual and some with challenging behaviours, shows an understanding of their personalities and backgrounds which, I feel, makes the elderly residents feel valued. This has been our second experience with a nursing home for dad and I wouldn't hesitate in strongly recommending White Rock to anyone I knew with nursing home requirements.
My father was made to feel welcome and cared for from the beginning. The staff were really good at understanding his needs and giving him a sense of autonomy in his care. I always felt the staff went above and beyond to ensure my fathers last year of his life was as comfortable and reassuring as it could be. I am extremely grateful for the high level of care he received.
