View Full Details of Ashview Nursing HomeMy mother was a resident at Ashview for nearly three years before sadly passing away in September. She had a number of health problems including dementia which eventually meant that the care she had been receiving at home had become inadequate. She very quickly settled at Ashview and we soon noticed a significant reduction in her anxiety levels which had been a major cause of concern to us whilst she was at home. The nurses, carers and staff at Ashview are very competent, caring and friendly, the care given to Mum throughout her stay was second to none. Communication with the nurses was excellent and they always found time for a chat about Mum's health. For us as a family the peace of mind we had during Mum's stay at Ashview, knowing that she was safe and well cared for 24 hours a day was invaluable. Ashview is a little gem!
The staff have always been very helpful but they surpassed themselves with Mum's 100th birthday. They arranged for a room to be decorated and welcomed over 18 visitors to celebrate with her. Nothing was too much trouble and all of those who came to the home were extremely complimentary about the atmosphere and attentiveness of the staff. I cannot say how much we appreciate the care and support given and the reassurance that Mum is very well cared for is invaluable to us.
Nothing ill to report, all staff are excellent! Across all grades - has been throughout the years.
Excellent care home where the quality of the care for my mother has been consistently excellent not only during the last 12 months but also the last 6 years. Not only is the care excellent, and delivered by committed carers, the care home also support the residents and their families by ensuring special days (birthdays and wedding anniversaries etc) are celebrated in style. A truly excellent care home.
I will forever remember the happy atmosphere at Ashview Nursing Home created by the lovely helpful, caring and professional staff. The nurses, caring assistants, kitchen, administration and maintenance colleagues all made me feel that my mother was settled, safe and properly looked after day and night. I was impressed with their use of technology together with their caring instincts to monitor my mother's health and mobility. They kept her interested by organising many themed days involving making decorations and serving special meals. The house itself is a lovely old building with a few challenges but fit for purpose and always warm and comfortable. Thank you to everybody.
From the moment I arrived at Ashview, in a very unhealthy state, I was cared for impeccably. I was treated with love, respect and dignity. I feel well and completely together. Thank you to all the staff at Ashview.
My uncle was resident at Ashview for around four years. Sadly he passed away in February. I want to thank all the staff at Ashview for looking after him so well, for the whole duration of his stay, and also at the end of his life. They were most compassionate and caring - we could not have found a better place for my uncle to spend his last few years.
My aunt was a resident at Ashview for over 15 months on end of life care. The staff were always on hand to discuss her condition & her care was second to none. They always displayed kindness & compassion & nothing was too much trouble. Her last few weeks were managed with care & dignity & she passed away before Christmas in peace. Thank you to all the staff & it was lovely to see two members from Ashview at her funeral. Highly recommended.
My 98-year-old Mum went to Ashview Nursing Home at the beginning of July and had been dreading this time coming. Right from the day she arrived the service she received from all of the Ashview team was fantastic. Everyone was caring, and kind nothing being too much trouble. She was able to enjoy the lovely garden fete and Hawaiian party in August. As a family we felt the love and support of the staff, this really helped us all at this really difficult time, particularly when she died in September. In the last few weeks, Mum referred to Ashview as her home, which I think says it all!
Our father had to go into Ashview Nursing Home for palliative care following a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer. All of the staff at Ashview welcomed our dad with open arms from day one. The support, love and care that our Dad received not only physically, but emotionally was something I personally will never forget, and will always be grateful for. Ashview doesn't feel like a nursing home and all the staff feel like friends. They made sure Dad was comfortable, pain-free and dignity in place right up until the end. A truly beautiful place with beautiful people.
My mum has settled in well after being here for 2 months. The staff are very kind and the food is particularly good. It really does feel like a big home. They are very organised taking care of all of my mum's hospital appointments and making sure that my dad can accompany her. The gardens are kept very well and are a lovely place for friends and family to sit when visiting.
Ashview Nursing Home is a home where everyone looks after each other. The staff really do care and go beyond what’s required. As well as being professional, they are friendly and supportive, taking time to get to know each resident’s individual needs. Mum arrived during lockdown and was treated with kindness, respect, and dignity. Mum bonded with staff members and residents and was happy in her new home. There is good access to a local GP practice and staff kept us informed. Families are engaged in the day-to-day running of the home. Chiropody and hairdressing services are available, Mum’s hair was the best I had seen it. There are plenty of stimulating activities and the food is particularly good and varied. When it came near to Mum’s passing her last days were managed with kindness and sensitivity. I cannot thank the staff enough. She was looked after by everyone from the reception staff to all the wonderful carers. If you are looking for a home that cares I can thoroughly recommend Ashview Nursing Home.
Staff are all very welcoming. They actually care about what they are doing and who they are looking after. Brother is always clean and tidy when I visit. He is checked on often and from what I see he enjoys his food very much. I have also seen him communicating in his own way with staff members. This is rare as he has little speech. Well managed site. Feels like a family environment with happy staff.
Ashview cared for my brother for the last three years of his life, during which time his health deteriorated due to Parkinson's disease. Throughout this deterioration, the home was able to cope with his needs and always showed kindness and understanding towards him. I would recommend this home to anyone.
My mother has been a resident for 3 years and the care is top class. The staff are great and very understanding about what my mum's requirements are. Their work over the last 2 very difficult years has been amazing.
My mother entered here at the beginning of December last year after several weeks in hospital with a broken hip and a couple of disastrous weeks with carers at home. The difference in her was almost immediate. Gone was the anxiety and a smile on her face again. I have been so impressed with the caring and professional staff at Ashview, who always have time to speak if I call or visit, and the tidiness and cleanliness of the home. They also take care of my mother's medication and when she has had hospital appointments have arranged ambulances to collect and return her so that my wife and I just have to meet and take care of her at the hospital. As I am having to sort out a lot of my mother's affairs I am very grateful that she is in Ashview and receiving such excellent care.
I am so happy with Ashview Nursing Home, my Nan came to live here in December, and what a transformation! My Nan was extremely anxious and afraid of what the future held for her. Ashview have made her feel truly at home, the care is second to none and everyone is so friendly and welcoming when I visit.
My brother moved to Ashview Nursing Home in December 2017, a hospital consultant had told me he had 'weeks, months, maybe less' to live. He was in Ashview Nursing Home for nearly three years and five months, passing away there on the fourteenth of May. The excellent care he received by everyone enabled him to live comfortably, feel respected and valued. He enjoyed the food but was also offered alternatives such as cheese on toast if that's what he fancied at the time. If I took homemade soup, I was welcome to heat it up in the kitchen for him or they would do it for me. My brother chose not to take part in activities, despite encouragement but I have seen some of these taking place when I visited and noticed the joy of the residents and staff, who were joining in. I was kept informed of any changes in his health, his wishes regarding not going to hospital unless absolutely necessary. which was on one occasion were followed and staff delivered end of life care with dignity and respect. I thoroughly recommend Ashview Nursing Home.
Our father has been at Ashview Nursing Home for nine weeks now following an unplanned stay in hospital. The friendly staff welcomed him warmly and helped him settle in, despite two weeks of Covid-19 isolation. They have been very attentive to his evolving nursing needs, personal needs and have notified us when there are matters of health concern. We feel he is safe, in good hands and there is an effective working relationship with the local GP surgery. The management team is very approachable and responsive to requests. Dad enjoys the tasty food, which is important to him and there is always a jug of squash on hand for hydration. The room is always bright, airy and clean. Covid-19 precautions for visitors are followed as per government guidelines, with flexibility shown where possible and appropriate to Dad’s approaching end-of-life. The staff extend a warm welcome to family visitors too. We are very pleased with our choice of home, which we had to make with little notice or preparation.
My mother has been a resident at Ashview for over a year now, the care she receives is second to none. The kindness and interaction given by all the staff is amazing. My mother went into Ashview for end of life care, and due to the fantastic care and dedication from staff and management that she has received, she is still with us. Ashview is a happy place for the residents to be, with many activities, workshops etc to suit every resident's needs and ability. The management have guided me through my mum's journey, with their help, care and always updating me with any issues mum may have, especially under the Covid 19 pandemic. Cleanliness is great, food is excellent, nursing staff are very kind and professional, the Manager is a tribute to the home, the carers are of a very high standard, along with the administration staff. I cannot rate Ashview highly enough, it’s like one big, happy family and I am honoured to be a part of it. Thank you to all at Ashview for everything.
