View Full Details of Conewood Manor Nursing HomeMy mum was a resident of Conewood Manor for 5 years. All members of staff were amazing! The care and love my mum received from every member of staff was fantastic. They made sure she was always comfortable and always ensured she was encouraged to take part in their many activities. The facilities they have are also great. I never had any concerns with any member of staff, over the years they became more like family. The home is very well run and always very clean. My thanks go out to each and every member of staff, thank you for making my mums last few years as comfortable and happy as possible. Thank you.
My mother has been in Conewood Manor Nursing Home for two weeks and she has settled so well and the happiest she has been in a very long time. This is down to the excellent compassionate care shown by all the staff. The level of care is second to none and the cleanliness and food are absolutely first class. My family are very grateful for our mum's care.
Husband entered home from hospital. Lovely room, settled well and Alzheimer's behaviour allowed. Felt like home. Manager most informed and compassionate professional we have met during whole 8 years of his illness. Husband's stay was short (3 months) but it took a tremendous strain off my shoulders. We had tried 3 times to get respite care in 3 local homes. First try - 6 days out of 14, second 6 days out of 14, third 23 hours out of 14 days. Dignified death. Why do people choose new build homes with no atmosphere?
Just wanted to express my sincere thanks for taking good care of my aunt. When visiting, all staff are very friendly and make us welcome. Staff are always available to listen and answer any questions. What a wonderful team!
My brother was admitted to Conewood Manor directly from hospital where he was diagnosed with terminal cancer. I cannot praise this facility highly enough. Within 24 hours they had given my brother some pride back. They were so very attentive and never missed a thing. The staff were extremely understanding and friendly to us all. My brother had great meals and his care was exemplary, they had pamper days, hairdressers, games, activities, singers and a whole host more to keep their residents stimulated. Unfortunately my brothers cancer was aggressive and he passed way too soon. The staff were extremely sensitive and accommodating to the whole family during this sad time.
I could not rate the home, and all the staff, from manager to the cleaners, from the doctors to the care assistants, highly enough. Made my brother so welcome and comfortable from his first day to the very last.
My mum was in Conewood Manor Nursing Home just 3 months on palliative care. They made her last weeks as best as they could be, The food was excellent and plentiful. The activities varied and enjoyable. They also took lots of photos, all of Mum smiling, playing Bingo, baking and various other games. When Mum passed away, they made a book of the photos to give to me, which I am very grateful for. A wonderful memento Thank you to all the staff, you are the best.
Conewood Manor is an exceptional community nurturing individualised care, activities, and nursing. Over the past 9 months, our Dad has received attentive nursing managing his type 1 diabetes complications and dementia, alongside compassion and respect from all staff. To be surrounded by love and calm we know our Dad's wishes were fulfilled when he recently returned from hospital to his safe home at Conewood for end-of-life nursing care. The Conewood Manor community hosts meetings with residents' families, listens, and acts on feedback, always with a smile, support, and kindness. The activities team hosts a varied programme of activities and entertainment in the dedicated activities room, the lounge, or the garden celebrating residents' individuality and providing stimulation, community, and fun. Different cultures are also celebrated with themed parties. Conewood Manor is a community that truly defines care celebrating aging, family, friendship, culture, and love. Thank you to everyone at Conewood Manor.
Conewood Manor provided excellent care for my father. The facilities were great for my dad & the garden was a favourite place for him enjoying all the flowers & marquee, occasionally colouring or just sitting with family. The activity schedule has been prioritised and there is something for everyone. Ponies, singers, exercise, and lots of themed parties to name a few. The staff were all so kind and compassionate and we got to know the lovely little community that is Conewood. My dad's needs were complex and he has now recently passed away, but as a family, we knew Dad was receiving the best care and that he was happy and content, which is all anyone can ask for. I would strongly recommend it.
Overall the care at Conewood Manor is exceptional. My husband has been there for well over a year and it is definitely superior to the 2 Care Homes he was in before The attention of all the staff and management is excellent. Every effort is made for the residents and their families. An excellent addition is an Activities Team who makes huge efforts for everybody.
When Mum had to go into residential nursing care permanently it was heartbreaking but Conewood Manor is an exceptional place. Mum's complex physical and mental health needs are met fully by kind, patient and efficient caring staff who always have a smile on their face. Nothing is ever too much trouble. Both nurse and admin staff keep me fully up to date with Mum's care and any changes or doctor visits etc that need to be arranged. There is a full weekly programme of activities and entertainment to keep residents stimulated and occupied. Our visits are always welcomed and we are free to pop in at any time. Mum is safe and happy. Thank you to everyone.
Conewood caters for a wide range of conditions from various forms of dementia (my wife has Alzheimers), other mental and physical disabilities and old age infirmity. I have always found that the home is well staffed with caring and considerate people down from the manager, admin, nurses, carers, laundry, kitchen and cleaning personnel. The home is well furnished and is always kept clean and warm and with a full programme of activities every day of the week. Food is prepared in their own kitchen and quality and taste is always good and drinks are plentiful. The home has an in-house laundry so clothing is returned clean next day. Detailed day/night records of residents are entered onto the system to record food and drink intake, sleep patterns, liquid and solid discharges, washes/showers and general hygiene. Visitors are always received with a warm welcoming smile and kept informed of anything out of the ordinary. I am on first-name terms with virtually all of the staff.
The care home is clean. The only issue I have is at the weekends my father is left in the bed and not changed, if he's changed it's 3:00 in the afternoon. There are a lot less staff at weekends. And you can always spot the lazy staff there are two or three of them. All the rest of the staff are absolutely brilliant.
I am extremely happy with the standard of care at Conewood Manor Nursing Home. The staff are kind, caring and thorough. My elderly father has now been at Conewood for a year and I feel that he is in a loving environment where even small details are taken into account. The staff are also welcoming and friendly to relatives which makes Conewood feel homely and nursing staff, admin, carers and kitchen and maintenance combine to make an effective team.
Our mother was here for 3 months for end-of-life care and the staff were so lovely, Mum praised them so much, nothing was too much trouble and she knew most of them on first-name terms. She always enjoyed meal times and conversations with the staff.
Our mother was taken in as a discharge to assess (D2A) at Conewood Manor Nursing Home. Within 24 hours she was smiling, talking and laughing. Within 48 hours she is showing signs of more movement in her arms and hands. The staff are friendly and check in regularly, it is like a family and we are so pleased they kindly agreed to take in our Mum after such a bumpy ride in hospital. Thank you Conewood Manor.
My mum has now resided at the home for 6 years and during that time she has received caring and also sympathetic treatment and has built a bond with a number of staff there and with some staff I have observed visiting her before they finish for the week to see how she is. During my weekly visits, the staff have been very courteous to me and always offer me a drink when afternoon tea is served up.
I have always felt, on leaving after visits, that my cousin is being well cared for and is content in a pleasant care home. The staff are always friendly and treat the residents with respect and dignity while trying to keep them stimulated with activities to help with their well being. I also consider Conewood Manor Nursing Home to be clean and well managed.
During my mother's stay at Conewood Manor Nursing Home, she has been cared for as an individual with respect and kindness by the staff. When she first arrived the manager and the staff made time to understand her condition and her preferences for treatment. The atmosphere in Conewood is warm and very friendly, as well as being extremely efficient. Rooms are clean and comfortable, patients are kept warm and clean while the food is prepared to meet the needs of the individual. This is nursing at its best because they treat the person - helping them physically with the necessary treatment - while getting to know them and giving them comfort and tender care. My mother was at the end of her life yet the staff made time to discuss her treatment right up to the end and offered to make contact at any time if her condition changed. When she died they offered us comfort at a very difficult time.
The realisation of having to place a parent into care for end of life is something you are not prepared for or advised how to proceed. Availability and locality hit you before the important things like quality of care for your loved one. We have been so fortunate with Conewood Manor Nursing Home, Bishops Stortford, we found all three in abundance. The most important has to be quality of care. At Conewood Manor, our experience has been excellent, the team showed tireless care and consideration for our father. No task, however difficult, was ever a chore. Caring for elderly/sick people is not a skill you learn, it's a quality, an attribute, a gift within yourself. The team at Conewood showed huge quantities of all. Our father has sadly passed away but we know that throughout his final months the care and comfort provided by Conewood Manor were as good and comfortable as we could have hoped. To name individuals seems unfair as the team were so good.
