View Full Details of Kingfisher Nursing HomeMaking the decision to move Mum into a nursing home was the hardest decision I ever had to make. I was in tears for days! Kingfishers Nursing Home is my first experience of a care home, and I could not be more pleased. From the amazing carers, nurses, assistants, chef and management, you really couldn't ask for more. Everyone is just so nice and genuinely caring. It makes me feel so much better knowing Mum is safe and well looked after. It's been almost 2 years since Kingfisher became home for Mum, and she is so settled. Thank you to you all.
My mother recently returned to Kingfisher after a period in hospital. She told me she was glad to be home. To her home is now Kingfisher. The love and care she received when she returned was fantastic. Knowing that she feels safe and secure here and among friends is a big help to me.
All the staff are very caring. They look after my dad with dignity and compassion. They also are very informative. My dad has dementia and has experienced some changes lately. I was informed straight away which I appreciate so we can discuss what happens next. Dad is very happy here.
The care given to my husband at Kingfisher Nursing Home was faultless. The caring staff at this home looked after my husband with love and compassion. I was given all the help I needed in his final days and I cannot thank every member of staff enough.
My mum loves Kingfisher it’s her home. She is very well looked after and respected for all her needs. If Mum was not taken care of by the wonderful staff she wouldn’t be here today. Everyone works hard to deliver exceptional service so proud of my mum and the staff as she now calls it her home. Thank you so much everyone at Kingfisher.
I cannot speak highly enough about the excellent facilities and the wonderful way in which the dedicated staff carry out their daily tasks. Providing care for many of the residents is a most demanding task, and I know that my brother benefits considerably from this and from the regular entertainment activities on offer. Well done, Kingfisher staff. Keep up your good work.
My sister was at Kingfisher, sadly only for a couple of weeks. During that time, the staff were very caring, patient, understanding and knowledgeable. Dealing with any pain and discomfort quickly to make her as comfortable as possible. This same high level of care and kindness from each and every member of staff, was extended to all my sister’s family on our daily visits. Thank you all so much, we were lucky to find you at our time of need. A home with genuine quality care!
A wonderful team of caring individuals. Everyone is top-class. My father came to Kingfisher last year after being in care for eight years. Everything about Kingfisher is first-class. Thank you.
My father-in-law has recently been in hospital where he really deteriorated. Has now been back in the home for over a week and the improvement is amazing. All the staff are really fantastic, it's thanks to them all that my father-in-law is back to his happy healthy self.
I just wanted to say that my heart melted when my sisters and I were sent photos of the coronation celebrations at Kingfisher Nursing Home today. I don't live locally and struggle to visit mum as much as I would like, but receiving photos like today was just awesome and heartwarming. Mum was beaming and her face lit up like a summers day when the staff dressed as King Charles and Queen Consort entered her room. Thank you to everyone involved and for the 24/7 care you provide. I sleep at night knowing mum is cared for and loved by your team. Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Sadly my dad passed away over Christmas, he had been poorly with an infection and went to the hospital for IV antibiotics but needed to return but refused. I was called as soon as he started to decline and I was welcomed to be with my dad. I have always been impressed with the Kingfisher Nursing Home as my mum is also in there but seeing up close how the staff reacted to and treated my dad was outstanding. Their love, compassion, and care were amazing to witness and have been a great comfort. This home does not have a cinema room or en suites but it more than makes up for this with the dedicated staff that work there. Their kindness will be something I will always remember, they were kind to my dad who so loved living there and my mum and they were very kind to me. The manager and the staff allowed us to have a celebration of my dad’s life at the Kingfisher so that my Mum could attend.
My mother has been a resident of Kingfisher since the beginning of September, after a short few months of such rapid decline in her mental and physical wellbeing. The overall care she now receives and the genuine warmth from every single member of the team there allays any of the concerns that I felt previously. With every visit I have with my mum, good or bad, speaking with any member of staff, always leaves me feeling reassured and comforted. Their exceptional care always shines through, not only to all the residents of Kingfisher but equally to us, the relatives. They are all part of an amazing team and I can never thank them enough.
Our valued family member has now been a resident of Kingfisher for nearly 2 years, due to the nature of her health needs Kingfisher has turned out to be the best care home for her. My sister is treated with dignity, love and support from all staff, both professionals and carers. The food is prepared on-site, and the chef is not afraid to "push the boat out" with various dishes, much to the delight of residents. Health care is excellent, and communication to us as family is of a very high standard. My sister wants for nothing and everyday residents can participate in many various activities. Nothing is too much trouble for all staff, my sister now regards all staff as "her sisters and brothers" her family is growing.
Everything is outstanding and nothing to criticize, this includes the boss.
It's worth going into. The staff do a lot for us all and are very kind and helpful. We never feel alone and forgotten about. The food is really nice and special, we had salmon today and we gave it 10 out of 10.
Our mum was omitted here 2 weeks ago. We were very nervous having her not at our home. She is 90 years old and very frail. We are pleased to say we are so happy we made this step for her. The staff here are amazing they look after her so much, caring, nursing, chatting and looking after her needs. There hasn't been anything they wouldn't do for her or us. Thank you to you all.
Early in 2019, I felt unwell and had some falls which I put down to advancing years but whilst undergoing investigation a biopsy revealed low-grade non-Hodgkin lymphoma and a course of chemotherapy was started. I was moved to Kingfisher by the NHS for care and attention followed by observation and the reports have been encouraging. I cannot fault my treatment and the management and staff, particularly here, have been marvellous. A lot of lovely people with whom I am proud to be associated. Many thanks to all.
My mother came to Kingfisher during Covid-19. I was very worried about her but I am now very happy that she is getting all the care that she needs and she seems very happy.
I can not praise this Nursing Home highly enough. Sadly, my Dad had to go into a Nursing Home following a stroke and suffering from dementia. It was hard for us as a family and worrying when this happened, but we need not have done. The staff looked after our Dad as well as we would have liked to look after him ourself. Nothing was too much trouble, they gave him everything we asked for and encouraged him to join in with activities and chat to other residents. The team is lead by an excellent manager who is not afraid to get get her hands dirty if and when it is necessary. There is a lot of respect amongst the staff and the residents and everyone is encouraged to be one big happy family. They are all very caring people and this reflects on it feeling very homely and comfortable. It is extremely clean and the food is of excellent quality. I would have no hesitation in recommending the Kingfisher to anyone and can not thank and praise the staff enough for what they did for our Dad.
Mum didn't want to go into a nursing home but our GP and hospice nurse referred her for "fast track" care as she needed physical and palliative nursing. All staff were marvellous, nurses and carers, to admin, catering and washing/cleaning people. It was faultless, if I had a problem whoever I asked would sort it, or find someone to help. Her comfort was thought of and pain managed hourly day and night. Finding it hard to eat/swallow her favourite foods were pureed, including prunes which she declared were lovely. Mum's last smile on Valentine's Day came when staff sang "We just called to say we love you", accompanied by music, with pretty cakes and strawberries. Mum really beamed a smile. The home is so well run, I cannot thank them enough for mum's care up to her passing.
