View Full Details of Montrose Care HomeMy aunt has been in Montrose fr about 10 years and is very happy there, and says she doesn't feel lonely living on her own anymore. The staff look after her very well. for her 100th Birthday they arranged a party and an entertainer. The entertainment is very good and the staff very friendly.
My mother has been a resident for almost six years. During that time she has been looked after by many different carers, all of whom have treated her with courtesy and respect. Her health has deteriorated and she is no longer mobile, but every effort is made by the staff to cater to her needs. She has never wanted to join in the many excellent activities other than the cinema, which she enjoys and looks forward to. I have always been impressed by the standard of care at Montrose and the friendliness of the staff.
Staff were very helpful, friednly, caring and efficient. Excellent all around, there is nothing more to say.
Our aunt moved into Montrose Care Home in November 2023. She wasn't too keen on the idea of moving into a home permanently but she had broken both her hips and was 94! She is now so happy that she moved in and is looking healthier. We have found all the staff to be friendly and caring. She loves that there are activities she could join in with but doesn't feel pressured to. We would definitely recommend the home to anyone looking.
Montrose has, over the last five years, given both my mum and her friend exceptional care. The home provides amazing opportunities to stimulate and fill their patients' days. You are always given a pleasant welcome, they love our visits with dog and joy and happiness are evident, despite being difficult place to work at times, no doubt. Although I lost my mum two years ago, I still visit her friend there, that says it all!
My mum has been at Montrose Care Home for over a year now. I am a big fan of Montrose. My mum was no longer safe to live at home. We had tried having carers come in to her home and it just wasn't working. I was so lucky that I found Montrose. They really pulled out all the stops to help get my mum in for respite care to begin with. What a difference from the first day. They put my mind at rest and were able to deal with my mum in the most professional way. I know it can be really challenging at times but they are so experienced, professional and nothing will phase them. There is a really homely feel to Montrose. Staff and residents are relaxed and friendly. I feel blessed that I know when my mum is being cared for at Montrose. There's always a cheery face bringing her a cup of tea, remembering her medications, bringing her meals and snacks and so much more. There are special days too like the beautiful care they took to mark my mum's birthday. She really felt special.
My friend was accepted into Montrose Care Home in December 2023 and lived there until her passing on 11/11/2024. During this time my wife and myself regularly visited. The staff were always welcoming and pleasant in their attitude. My friend's health deteriorated quickly during the latter part of her stay leaving her confined to her room and therefore largely unable to take part in group activities. Her personal care was always excellent.
I consider my two brothers and myself are lucky to have my mum in such a lovely home. We have no worries about her care. She is very well looked after from cleanliness to health care, catering and activities. The home has just been refurbished so lovely and clean and bright atmosphere. The staff have a very difficult job but are very hard working, friendly and patient. There is always a full programme. Thanks to the lead activity person and although at 96 she doesn't always want to join in, she is encouraged to. We are always informed of any health issues and a doctor regularly attends. I would have no worries recommending Montrose Care Home.
I couldn't have asked for a better home for my husband to stay while I was away. I always felt reassured that he was being looked after by a great and caring staff.
Dad has been a resident for over 3 years now and he is well thought of by staff. His needs have become greater in the last year as his mobility and memory are getting worse, but he always looks smart and well cared for. If there are any issues I do not have any problems bringing these up with the senior carers.
Our Mum lived at Montrose Care Home for over 6 years. We are so pleased that we chose Montrose. Mum received the best possible care there and we have nothing but praise for the staff.
My dad had Alzheimer's and lived in Montrose Care Home for over 19 months, until April 2024. I saw a lot of homes before choosing Montrose. It has a warm, lively atmosphere and the building is very clean and well-laid out with good facilities and lovely touches. My dad received extremely good care from the Montrose staff and from the daily 1:1 carers brought in from an external agency. Everyone was very capable, attentive to my dad's health and personal care needs, gentle, respectful and thoughtful. They also had fun, shared jokes with him and encouraged him to participate in activities and outings. When we visited, the carers were considerate, giving us space and being supportive and kind to us. The staff in every role - those on reception, those who cleaned, did laundry, cooked, and more - did so much. Having our dad in a care home was very hard for us emotionally but, knowing that he had such wonderful people caring for him, made it much easier. We cannot thank them enough.
I found the staff friendly and helpful. The setting up the home was lovely and the rooms cosy and well equipped. My mother appreciated the en suite bathroom and the chats with the staff.
Friendly helpful staff from management, carers to cleaners. Always had a smile and kind word to say about my mother. The room was nice, good view and accessible WC facilities. Regular cleaning of the room. Regularly fed on exercised. Enjoyed the film night.
My mother was here for 3 months, needing care as she has Alzheimer’s. It was the worst time of our lives. She was so unhappy that she became suicidal, and the resulting one-to-one care left us with a bill of £35,000 for 3 months. She then became dangerously ill, resulting in a hospital stay of one month. We could not allow her to return to Montrose House. She is now in a nursing home and is settled and happy. We cannot recommend Montrose House to anyone.
My aunt has settled in so well in the last six months. She is now much happier and healthier since coming to live at Montrose. Wonderful fine dine evening. Delicious food and fabulous service from the team.
The care and support provided by Montrose Care Home are superb. Welcoming and friendly staff who are all willing to help. Fantastic entertainment programme. Always activities to engage in. Very happy with the service provided. A quick hoover under the bed wouldn't go a miss.
My stepmother was only at this home for a short time before she died but were highly satisfied with the standard of care she received. I visited on several occasions at different times of the day and evening. At all times, staff were welcoming and were also engaged with the residents and trying to stimulate them in various ways. The home was clean, attractive and well-kept.
My cousin has only been in this home for a month, but seems very happy and has put on weight. The facilities and activities seem to be excellent. We, as a family, found our time at the home a good experience, we found the staff very helpful and kind.
It was our first visit and we were warmly welcomed and taken to a nicely decorated lounge, offered refreshments - which was very welcome after a long drive. We were given a tour of the building - the garden is very pleasant (raised beds might be nice for residents to garden). The cinema was fantastic. The home was very nicely decorated, especially with exposed walls covered in wallpaper. The staff were professional but friendly.
