View Full Details of Westgate House Care CentreOnce again thanks to the care, kindness, encouragement and support of the whole team, my mum is up and walking again. The experience has been really positive and Mum (and myself) enjoyed our time at Westgate. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. It was a joy to visit Mum and was indeed like a family here. The physiotherapy mum received was invaluable. Such dedication shown to get people moving again. Everyone from management to the cleaning staff were exceptional. Mum was very lucky and we appreciated our time there.
From the moment I arrived, I found the staff to be very welcoming and polite. Patience and professionalism were shown at all times and nothing was too much for them. The physio team helped me to achieve a lot more movement and were dedicated to push me to my full potential. I now feel much more confident in going home.
Overall, my stay at Westgate was good. The staff were friendly and helpful, the only problem, I had was with the language, being mainly Asian/African Caribean and masks added to the problem. The food was plentiful and quite appetising. Woken up for breakfast which arrived 30 minutes later! Physio therapists were excellent and encouraging. I would not hesitate in recommending Westgate House Care Centre to anyone.
After a bad fall I was sent to hospital and then to rehab at Westgate House Care Centre. I was pleasantly surprised at my room and TV and the staff. I have made such progress with the help from two members of staff in particular and they are also pleased with me. Everyone of the staff are so very good, friendly and helpful.
I am currently here whilst my home is being altered so my current disability will be catered for on my return. The level of care is exceptional. Westage House Care Centre would be my first choice if or when I may need their help in the future. I have talked to a number of people here and they all agree, it is a very happy, very well-run and organised home!
The physiotherapy was enjoyable and I enjoyed the company of the therapists. As a result of their hard work I am walking better. The carers were sensitive to my needs and provided me with drinks regularly. It was very nice to have my own room and TV but I found the latter difficult to use because of my eyesight. The food was tasty but occasionally tepid.
I arrived here as a service user for the 19-day physio rehab after a long hospital stay. The program run by the physio and her assistant is fabulous - I arrived having been on my feet three times whilst in hospital and I am leaving using only a walking stick and confident I will cope with basic activities at home. All of the staff are friendly, hardworking and professional. The only negative is that staff ignore the 'support' sign when on the door and on three occasions entered whilst I was washing.
The wonderful care I received has helped me recover after a spell in hospital and an operation on a broken hip. The physiotherapy has given me the confidence to walk again.
Referred by NHS to aid recovery after long period in hospital. Staff very helpful but was particularly impressed with help and support of physiotherapist and therapy assistant.
My mum was accepted in to Westgate House Care Centre on 16th October 2024. Absolutely wonderful. Staff, surroundings, cleanliness. So grateful our mum got to stay and become a permanent resident. She is happy and warm and never hungry. So much pride and friendliness also shown to us, her family. Thank you to the team.
Ths home is like a posh hotel. The staff are wonderful (like best friends). Nothing is too much trouble. We have a breakfast room which is beautifully decorated. Again it feels like a hotel. The service when you ring the bell is really quick, morning or when you need help in the night. My stay here has been lovely, I cannot fault it. I have made lots of new friends.
I couldn't have had better treatment. Thank you to all the staff.
My nan had a stay here after she fell, she lives alone and I'm based in Liverpool so this facility was a godsend as she was completely dependent on carers. The facility was modern and clean. My grandma went in as a frail old lady who couldn't walk or wash or dress herself and left as a new woman. She was treated with dignity, care and respect. I was so thankful to the staff who really looked after her! The team from the receptionist who remembered me/my situation despite her seeing hundreds of visitors to the physio who made sure my grandma had a sprig of holly on her shirt so she felt included for Christmas jumper day. My grandma had her own toilet, a TV, lovely room and was given lovely food options and always had someone offer a coffee or tea. There was a hairdresser who made her feel human again (hadn't washed her hair for 2 weeks due to injury). A keep fit class and physio sessions and a whole list of "extra activities" to keep her from getting bored or lonely. I'd give 10 stars if I could!
My mum was transferred to Westgate House Care Centre from the hospital for rehabilitation due to poor mobility. All staff there were very helpful and made us feel comfortable with my mum's care throughout the whole time she was there. A big thank you to all there, we really appreciate all your help with Mum's mobility issues and helping her get better to come back home.
My friend was admitted to Westgate after a stay in hospital. He had become very poorly and had been placed on palliative care whilst in hospital. Westgate were so fabulous admitting my friend into their care as he was going to require dedicated treatment. From my first contact with Westgate they were so fabulous and understanding. My friend was in a warm, cosy room - every member of staff I met at the home was empathetic, kind and totally invested in my friend's care. I cannot rate highly enough the manager and her team - it's a very difficult sector to work in but Westgate offer dignity, respect and love at every level.
My 97-year-old mum went into Westgate House for respite whilst the whole family were on holiday. It was our first experience of a care home service and environment and we, as a family, were very anxious about how Mum would adapt and be cared for given she has always lived independently. I have to say the whole experience far exceeded our expectations, from the regular email updates, feedback from friends who visited her and the discharge service was exemplary. The staff were particularly caring and had clearly put in a lot of effort to make her stay pleasurable so 5 star rating from us.
Everyone made my stay enjoyable. Had breakfast in the green room and lunch in the blue room with the other residents. Two staff members in particular are brilliant in getting everyone's mobility back and very caring doing so.
The staff are very friendly and polite. My mum is well looked after and very happy here. Thank you for what you do.
I cannot thank the staff enough. My mum needs total care/full care, I am relaxed in knowing that she is in the right place and that the staff have her wellbeing at heart. I can carry on working and looking after the rest of my family knowing Mum is being carefully looked after.
My mother came to Westgate House for palliative care. I thought the care home was almost new, very well decorated. Good facilities, cleaned and maintained to a good standard. The staff were always helpful and there regularly to monitor the residents. I thought my mother was very well looked after. Overall I was impressed by Westgate House.
