View Full Details of Wilton House Nursing & Residential HomeMy husband has been at Wilton House for 4 weeks. I am very happy with the care he is receiving. He has complex issues, both physical and mental, and can be very demanding at times. The manager and all the staff are very caring, compassionate and have lots of patience. I think the staff all do an incredible job. As well as looking after him so well they always have time to talk to me. I would highly recommend Wilton House to anyone who is seeking residential/nursing care for themselves or their relative.
My mum was a resident until very recently when she passed away. The care she received over the 2 years she was at the home was fantastic. I always found the staff extremely helpful and caring. I can only thank them so much for looking after my mum.
My wife has Alzheimer's, young onset dementia with Lewy body at an advanced/severe stage. She is extremely well cared for at Wilton House Nursing and Residential Home. I am very grateful to the manager, the nursing, care, catering, housekeeping, maintenance and the administration staff in the manner they provide for not just my wife but all residents. Caring for the residents is what everyone focuses on but the team at Wilton House extend the care to the family of the residents with outstanding empathy. This is from my personal experience as I visit my wife daily and have done so over the past 30 months that my wife has been at Wilton House. I note the rating is limited to 'Excellent' but it is my opinion that Wilton House and the team are rated 'Outstanding'.
Wilton House Nursing Home has been amazing. My elderly mother (87) has dementia and is unable to walk. The manager and staff have been outstanding in caring for my mum. They have been kind, compassionate, caring and supportive of all her needs. The registered nurses have always given her medication on time in a professional and caring manner. They have kept my mum happy and comfortable. Thank you to you all.
We are very fortunate to have our 2nd cousin be a resident of Wilton House care home in Shenley. The love, kindness and care that he is receiving for his dementia condition could not be better. The management and staff are always happy, polite and helpful, they create an environment of calm and peace. We cannot find any fault with the care home, we are so lucky that Wilton House is there for our family resident and our wider family in particular. The Wilton House manager, leads by example, which filters down to all the staff, we cannot speak too highly about her and her team. May this wonderful place continue with such excellent care. Our deepest thanks and gratitude from next of kin, 2nd cousin and from all our family.
We are beyond blessed that our mum was placed here after a spell in hospital. From the very first calls with the management team, we have only ever received the best of care, communication, kindness, love and attention for our dear mum who is sadly passing with dementia. She has a lovely room with all her personal belongings and pictures up. The nurses are so compassionate to her needs and their love and care for her is so evident in the way they speak and treat her they bring a smile to her face which is so beautiful to see and her comfort and dignity at this sad time is paramount to them. Nothing is too much trouble for them. They also care and support us as relatives. We receive regular updates via phone or email. They also really listen to what mum likes and do her eyebrows and lipstick for her which is so lovely. Their attention to detail for her is so special. We can’t highly recommend this beautiful place enough and we feel so lucky she’s in their best safe wonderful care. Thank you all from our hearts.
I would just like to praise the most welcoming and friendly staff at the Wilton House and Residential Home. As soon as I stepped into the Reception a member of staff was there to greet me and show me exactly where to go to meet my mother. My mother is housed in a most beautiful private room for her to rest in. The Nursing Home is extremely clean and secure. A checking-in and out system is in place. Security codes are required to enter the floors in the Home and also to exit the building, so in a security sense, this is first class. The staff and everyone who works in the home are just simply warm and so welcoming. They all treat my mother with such respect and love as if she were their own mother. Nothing is too much trouble when you ask for anything and to contact the home by telephone is no problem at all. My mother is cared for in the most loving way possible. And she is regularly checked upon through the day time and night. I can very highly recommend this Nursing Home to everyone.
The team at Wilton House cared for my father for the last 7 months of his life, and he passed away there in September ’23. My father had advanced Alzheimer’s. He had been through a very difficult year and as soon as he entered Wilton House it was clear that it was the right place to deal with his challenging needs. The team were wonderfully caring and professional. My father was very well looked after and his dignity was maintained throughout. When we visited we were always made to feel very welcome and the staff went out of their way to make us, and my father, comfortable. When the end-of-life period came, the nurses were amazing. We were kept fully informed of everything that was happening and what we could expect. They were caring for my father, but also for his family as we went through this difficult time. We cannot thank the manager and staff at Wilton House enough for everything they did for my father at the end of his days.
They took great care of my dad in his final year. I appreciated the kindness, care, and compassion the team at Wilton House showed towards my dad. I am grateful that they were able to provide a respectful and caring environment where my dad's needs were met. His care team showed him patience and tenderness throughout his time there. The care home manager is especially dedicated to her work and her residents. It is clear that she genuinely cares for her residents (and their families).
My dad is very settled at this care home. He has advanced dementia and usually recognises me. No one else visits him so it is wonderful that the caring staff keep him busy with lots of activities as well as rest. They have fed him up in the last 2 years as he is quite slender usually. I can't praise them enough for caring for my dad so much. All of the staff including the admin staff know who he is.
I cannot speak more highly of Wilton House; their manager and her fantastic staff. They’ve looked after my mum now for around 2 years. She arrived at Wilton House severely underweight. And then, a recent dementia diagnosis and simply had no desire or ability to live independently anymore. We thought she might not have long to live. Not the case. The manager and her staff intensively looked after mum on arrival. 24 hour care. They literally nursed her back to health. True professionals with care at the heart of what they do- changed my mums life and ours as a family. They gave care, mental support, medical intervention and knew how to bring mum back to us. Care my sister and I could not. Now my mum is back to a fantastic weight. All her meds are in place to support her well-being. Because of this, her dementia is progressing much slower than we expected. Always proactive with her care planning; we know exactly what’s happening and are kept updated. A wonderful care home.
Had a lovely relatives meeting. It was good to meet other relatives of the residents and exchange experiences with them. It was also good to meet other members of the team and hear plans for the future. Another advantage was that ideas for future support could be discussed. All this was done in a lovely environment and friendly atmosphere.
As we age, many of us will become increasingly dependent upon others. For a carer, it can be a thankless task that calls for a unique blend of strength, character and compassion. Carers are special people to whom we owe a not inconsiderable debt. My friend was not an easy person to look after. He was once a very capable and contributing member of our society who could not easily accept that he was no longer the person that he was when younger. A huge thank you to the manager, for managing his remaining days with such warmth and compassion, which afforded him the dignity that he rightly deserved as his days became shorter and fewer. “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world: indeed it’s the only thing that ever has.”
This is an interim review. My mother moved into Wilton House on the 14th of February 2023 and is still a resident there. I have been heartened by the treatment my mother has so far received, and by the kindness shown towards her and my family. I have been impressed by the attitude of the manager and staff; everyone we have been in contact with has gone out of their way to help us. I live over 200 miles away, and when I have not been able to visit my mother, the staff have kept me updated by email as to my mother's health and are quick to respond to my requests for any updates on her condition.
Our aunt was moved to Wilton house this month. In the ten days that she was in your care, she couldn't have been looked after better. All the staff on the lavender floor and management made us, the family, feel at ease. You will forever be in our gratitude. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone looking to move a loved one with dementia. The care that is given to all their patients and their families is outstanding.
My Aunt was admitted last Thursday to Wilton House ten days ago on palliative care. Unfortunately, she passed away. The staff and the nurses and the manager went above and beyond for my Aunt and for us as a family, the support they gave our aunt and us as a family and how caring and thoughtful they were is unmeasurable and they made the last ten days so much easier, for my aunt and us as a family. We as a family are so grateful and indebted to them for their care and commitment to easing our loved ones' pain and ours. Thank you!
My mother has been a resident at Wilton house since 2020. Though the pandemic and up to today I have found all the staff to be extremely supportive and very caring towards my mother and myself and my family. No one wants to go through losing their loved one, especially over a long period but knowing you have a wonderful team looking after mum and always there for us makes the process that much easier to deal with. Thank you so much to all
From the time you come into the home, the reception staff are kind, helpful and friendly. My brother is always happy and well looked after. If I have ever had any concerns they are dealt with almost immediately. The carers are kind and patient, the home is always clean and tidy as are all the residents. The food is really nice and varied. The manager is always approachable and hands-on with the residents and reassured us all that it is what's best for our loved ones.
My father became a resident in January this year. It was very difficult for me to accept this, as to me his dementia deteriorated quite quickly. I must express my gratitude and thanks to the manager and the rest of the staff who have taken really good care of my dad and helped me through this experience. My dad is well looked after and happy and has built up a nice relationship with one of the carers Thank you all.
Mum celebrated her 98th Birthday last Friday. She and our family have lived with Dementia since 2014. We moved her to a local care home. After five years of steady deterioration, variable moods, anger and constant demands, followed by a stay in hospital due to a care home accident, we were hit by Covid, and the care home closed. We had to move her again, but the second care home could not cope with her moods, instability, always calling, not eating or sleeping, and with their huge costs. In August 2020, we found Wilton House Nursing home. Their care and concern from her first day were total in so many ways. Within the first few months, she had stabilised more than in her first years of the condition, with real nursing care and allowing Mum to be herself and not part of a crowd. She has no memory of her previous life, and the staff are her family who gets on better than I do. Many can tell of their story, which highlights this terrible condition but will be made easier at Wilton with their care.
