View Full Details of Solent Grange Care HomeMy mother's care over the past 5 plus years has been exemplary, and could not have been better. She thoroughly enjoyed all the entertainment and all the numerous activities. She enjoyed all the well-organised outings and the camaraderie. All staff have shown kindness, understanding and care towards my mother and the wider family at all times. Mother always said the food was well presented and most enjoyable at all times. We wish to thank the entire staff for the care respect and kindness shown at all times.
Mum was taken into Solent Grange when her legs stopped working due to Alzheimer's progression, after an extended stay in hospital. More than a year later she is still residing at the home. I have a very close connection to Mum and can tell if anything is upsetting her. She is very settled and enjoys the music and entertainment put on in the various lounges. She has put on weight since arriving and enjoys her mealtimes, even though she is unable to use her arms effectively. She enjoys her TV in her room if not out and about. All the staff are very friendly with Mum and myself, I visit 2/3 times a week and she is often in one of the lounges. Any time I have any queries they are dealt with promptly.
Ever since Mum entered Solent Grange (in 2023) she has appeared happier and healthier than she did at home alone. The atmosphere as soon as you enter is friendly and warm. The whole team works really hard to make sure residents are safe, engaged, entertained and happy. Mum eats better than before, starting with a full cooked breakfast (which she never had at home!) and constant teas and nibbles throughout the day. Mum has dementia but the brilliant activities team at Solent Grange ensures there are always plenty of fabulous things going on to keep everyone busy. They are always going out on trips, having music and dancing in the home and plenty of animals to cuddle. This ensures she never feels lonely or isolated and we feel completely reassured that she is being safely looked after and we are so grateful that we found Solent Grange.
My mother has been at this home for approximately 3 years and I can say the care she has received has been absolutely first-class! She is always clean, warm and comfortable and likes all of her carers. Whenever we have had any queries or problems they have been sorted straight away. I can't recommend this care home highly enough.
Like most/all relatives of those benefiting from being residents at Solent Grang,e this is such an emotional and challenging time however all the staff express how much they care for Dad and indirectly show us so much respect and diligence leading to peace of mind which is priceless. From the reception team, events, nursing, catering, and all other employees Dad and ourselves are treated with dignity and respect and we are always informed of any incident that we need to be aware of. Dad couldn't be in a better place. Thank you
Just want to say thank you to all the staff, especially the Lifestyle Lead and her team. It is lovely to see all residence having a lovely time, going out and enjoying themselves. When you first enter the building everybody is helpful and taking so much care, it is lovely to see.
I cannot fault the care, compassion, understanding and dedication shown to Mum this month, she has settled so well we couldn't be happier with Solent Grange during such a challenging time for us. Thank you so much, from us all. Mum needed emergency respite care due to dad being taken into hospital, which has now turned into permanent care. Everything was sorted so smoothly and really made my initial panic about both Mum and Dad ease. Thank you so much.
I am so pleased with the responsive care provided at Solent Grange. My aunt displayed some changes in behaviour and the staff knew her so well they immediately realised it was likely due to an infection she didn't even realise she had, antibiotics were quickly organised and she was back to her usual self. She is well cared for and staff are kind and genuinely interested in her wellbeing and interests. The activities staff are also excellent and organise a wide range of quizzes, music and outings. The food is also of good quality and there is always a choice if they don't like what is on the menu. I cannot recommend this care home highly enough.
My mum-in-law has been in Solent Grange for nearly a year now and she is totally happy and settled. This home has completely changed my thoughts about care homes. All the staff are fantastic, nothing is too much trouble. The residents are treated with dignity and friendship at all times and they are always having fun and keeping busy. The activities team are amazing, my mum-in-law has done more in the last year than she has done for years and she always has a smile on her face. We are so happy to have found Solent Grange and feel so reassured that she is getting the best possible care in the best possible place.
This was my first visit to see my brother since he became a resident in April. After six weeks in a hospital ward, it was very reassuring to see him in his own room and clearly very well cared for. The staff at Solent Grange are extremely friendly and they are looking after my brother with huge understanding, sensitivity and individual attention. I feel very relieved and could not ask for more.
I'm very happy with the care my brother is receiving. The staff are very friendly and attentive. There are several activities that residents can participate in such as craft, baking, visits from local musicians and trips out. The resident guinea pig gets lots of attention.
Excellent, personalised care. Exceptional staff always going the extra mile. The staff extend their caring to the wider family of the resident. Always plenty of activities and stimulation to suit all likes.
Dad has been at Solent Grange for 22 months, firstly on the Nursing floor and now on the ground floor, and his care has been with dignity and kindness. He has enchanted many staff with his cheeky ways, and I love it when staff share with me his latest imaginations. As his regular visitor, I've come to feel like the staff are an extension of my family and feel confident that I can ask about anything I'm unsure of. They always make time for me and I never feel silly asking.
My mother came to Solent Grange in November 2023 in a very depressed and unhappy state of mind. Thanks to the work of the staff at the care home she is now back to her happy, smiling, chatty self. She admitted she could not see herself recovering less than a month ago. And it is solely down to the work of the staff at Solent Grange that she has achieved what others in the medical profession have failed to do. I am eternally grateful to have my mother back to enjoy the later stages of her life.
From April 2022 to December 2023, from admission to death, my husband was looked after beautifully. All the staff were well informed, caring and friendly towards him and his family. Their approach was proactive. I would describe the care they gave him when he was dying as "loving care" for him, me and my daughter.
Solent Grange Care Home and all the staff are excellent. They are a team and work together so well. They understand and respond to the very difficult task of caring for people with dementia. The staff listen and respond. Always professional, yet kind and understanding. A care home of outstanding excellence, leading the way to better care for all.
My father has recently moved to Solent Grange and I must say the standard of care there is top class! He was not keen to be there initially (who is!?) but has quickly realised that the staff and facilities are definitely making his life much easier, and it’s so much better than the last place he stayed, he’s now happy to be there, great food, great caring staff and top facilities, thank you Solent Grange for making my life and my father's easier, it’s such a hard time for all but you guys have helped so much.
Solent Grange is a modern, clean and welcoming place. My mother was well looked after during her three-plus months stay here and was treated with dignity and respect throughout. When she died, I was overwhelmed by the kindness and thought shown by the staff. My only negative comment would be that it was not always easy to find nursing or care staff if I needed to ask a question or discuss something, both in person or on the phone, because they are all extremely busy and work hard to give patients the best care.
I am very happy with the care being provided for my dad. All staff I have had contact with are very professional and treat my dad with dignity and respect. His room is clean and tidy, the food is well prepared and the general atmosphere is always friendly. Thank you.
I am very happy for my mother to be living in Solent Grange. It is an excellent home in every sense. The reception staff and admin are always very welcoming. The manager is available to talk to relatives and is very approachable. All staff have been and continue to be most polite and friendly. When entering the house it's rather more like a hotel atmosphere than a care home. Everyone is clean, tidy, bright and airy. My mother has mobility issues and requires extra help at times and I know they understand and support her with her limitations in this regard. So kind!
