View Full Details of Kite Hill Care HomeWhen my twin Sister and I chose The Kite care home for our 103yrs Dad, we won the lottery. Although he was only there for a very short time before he sadly passed away, he was REALLY cared for by all the staff. The best care we could have hoped for, with amazing dignity and compassion. They also cared for us. Cups of tea, and a hug when needed. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts to each and every one of you. I wish I could name you, but you all know who you are.
I am really pleased with all the care my husband is receiving at Kitehill Care Home, it has taken a few months for hire to settle in, but with the kindness of all your carers and in the lounge where he joins in with all the activities provided. When I visit it is a pleasure to interact with all your carers and other staff they are all so pleasant.
I found the care home very friendly, cheerful, and always on hand to help me in any way possible with a high standard of professionalism, especially from the senior staff. The day-to-day running of the home was always exciting with joy and happiness, and all the residents and staff I was able to meet during my visit, without exception, were happy and cheerful.
Mum was in Kite Hill for 3 and a half years. She had a very pleasant room with a sunny view over the decking area. She loved the food which was nicely cooked. She initially found it hard to mix but the activities and entertainment brought her out of her shell. The activity staff are so enthusiastic. The care staff, although very busy, were generally kind and thoughtful. The care home definitely gave her the nearest to her own home possible. We would definitely recommend it.
A well-maintained, clean, friendly home. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are all fantastic, always caring for Mum with dignity and gentleness. The staff always available to talk to and solve any enquiries quickly. Would recommend Kite Hill to everyone.
My mum became a permanent resident at Kite Hill on 1st October 2024. She settled in so quickly, better than we ever imagined, because she was immediately made to feel at home there. This is due to how wonderful all the staff are, so caring and welcoming. The manager has been there for over 15 years, along with some of the other staff, this shows what a good home it is, consistency of staff is so important. They are like one big family. Another lady who is the activities coordinator and she is a bundle of joy! So enthusiastic and brilliant with the residents. My mum doesn't go out of her room at the moment, but the activities coordinator makes sure she sees her every day and gives her activities to do in her room. The food is amazing too, fabulous chefs! Everything is fresh and cooked from scratch. Mum says she's never had a bad meal, she really enjoys the food. The home is always spotlessly clean too. I cannot recommend it enough and neither can my dear mum.
My mum moved into Kite Hill in March 2024, I'd been caring for her on my own and we just couldn't manage by ourselves anymore. From the moment I knocked on their door, they couldn't have been kinder to me and my mum. The staff are absolute angels, they really do care for the residents and it shows. My mum has a lovely room and her own toilet, I bought her in lots of little things that make her room more homely and familiar. The food is all home-cooked and fresh, my mum enjoys it. I visit most days and spend a lot of time there, the level of patience and understanding they show every single day is amazing, not only to my mum but also to me, if I'm upset or struggling they're always really kind. Everyone from the lovely lady at reception, all the carers, the maintenance man, the cleaners, and the chefs all go above and beyond. Me and my mum are very grateful to each and every one, we love them all. Thank you Kite Hill.
The care my mum received at Kite Hill was amazing, so kind caring and supportive. My mum spent 2 years at the home, it helped in providing the support she needed. Also their kindness towards me as her daughter, nothing was too much trouble, they would always listen to any concerns. A wonderful team of carers. Thank you to you all.
My mother was at Kite Hill for around 18 months. During this time I found her extremely well looked after with amazing and friendly staff. I was happy to leave her in their capable hands and was made to feel very welcome when visiting her.
Mum benefited greatly from the four weeks of respite she had staying at Kite Hill Care Home. The staff were all kind and caring and they managed to get Mum back on her feet again to enable her to live at home with some help. Thank you.
My mother only had a short stay at Kite Hill Care Home but we were happy with her care in all respects. The staff were all welcoming and in fact you soon start to feel part of their family. If circumstances had been different we would have been very happy for mum to stay here as her needs would always have been met. Unfortunately mum was unable to participate in group activities but there are many opportunities in this regard.
My mother-in-law sadly passed away in December 2022; having been a resident at Kite Hill Care Home for just over a year. The staff at Kite Hill were all very kind and helpful to both my mother-in-law and to ourselves. My mother-in-law was very well looked after at Kite Hill and grew to regard many of the staff members there to be friends. I read in a recent review that their major excellence is in their staff and I fully endorse that comment. My husband and I would like to thank all the staff at Kite Hill for the kindness, care, professionalism and friendliness that their whole team always showed to both my mother-in-law and all our family. We would not hesitate to recommend Kite Hill Care Home as a good and trustworthy place to allow your special family members to be looked after, should they need that extra level of care.
Kite Hill Care Home is a fantastic facility. The rooms are clean and tidy at all times. The check-in system is east and easy to follow. It's major excellence in its staff, they have always been super helpful, very kind, caring and knowledgable. Kite Hill has looked after two very special people for us when other options ran out and they have done so with all the care of an extended family. Thank you.
My mother-in-law had to be admitted during the height of the pandemic so we were not able to visit for nearly a year. We did have video calls with mum to start off but as she was suffering from vascular dementia these became too confusing for her. Mum was in Kite Hill for just under 2 years before her death at 100. The staff were friendly, empathetic and very understanding of her condition, mum was always well presented, very settled and nothing was too much trouble. The last six months before mum's death were particularly difficult for the staff and they adapted to each situation as it occurred. We would highly recommend this establishment to any family facing the difficult decision of long term care for their relations and have nothing but high praise for each and every member of staff.
My aunt moved into Kite Hill in December 2021 when it became clear that she would not regain adequate mobility to live at home. The home was clean and the room fairly pleasant, though without much of a view. My aunt seemed as happy as possible in the circumstances. She said the food was good. The staff were friendly and helpful, and happy to respond to requests for help, including assisting me to take my aunt out on a sunny afternoon. The administrator was particularly helpful. If anyone is looking for a care home for a family member, I would be happy to give Kite Hill the thumbs-up.
Mum passed away in October 202, aged 96, after about three years in Kite Hill. The care was excellent and the staff very friendly. Despite Mum being blind, deaf and finally being bedridden with dementia the staff were always smiling and competent.
Kite Hill looked after my mother for two months during summer 2021. The staff were unfailingly kind to her and she was as happy as possible given her state of health. The organisation was very flexible with regards to her needs and requests. At all times the home was easy to contact and visit, even though Covid restrictions made this more difficult than usual. Best of all, every time a member of staff promised me they would call me, they did, without fail. This simple keeping of promises was a great relief to our family and was in contrast to our dealings with other homes and services during my mother's last 2 or 3 years. Without doubt, Kite Hill provided the best care my mother experienced during this period.
I cannot recommend this nursing home highly enough. Both my mother and father went into Kite Hill in July 2021, for two weeks respite having both been in hospital. However due to lack of community care they ended up staying there for nearly six months. This was my mother's worst nightmare as she has always been petrified of having to go into a home. The staff at Kite Hill are just incredible people who cared about and listened to my parents. They had time for them and nothing was ever too much trouble. Whilst my mother always wanted to come home, mainly to be at home with her cats, she always said that there was nothing that she could complain about living at Kite Hill. Both parents loved all of the care staff, would laugh and joke with them and talk to them when they needed to. The food was always a high standard and they had several choices each day. They felt safe and valued whilst residing at Kite Hill. Thank you to all of the incredible staff who made their experience so positive.
My father has been at Kite Hill for two years. He is now almost 96. He has been well cared for and is happy. He has dementia but still manages to tell me how kind all the staff are. I see this displayed as I visit several times a week. Everybody works very very hard and I would recommend this Home to everyone with relatives that need care.
Overall staff were very kind but unfortunately not enough of them to spend any quality time. Sometimes food was not cut up (my sister had had a stroke and was unable to use one of her arms. She was also bed-bound so had meals in her room) and meals were just left on her tray so she was only able to eat parts of her meal. i.e unable to eat roast meat). Choice sometimes limited and repeated frequently although portions adequate. The staff, unfortunately, lost her false teeth when she was admitted to hospital and they were not replaced.
