View Full Details of Ashley Gardens Care CentreWhen we visited my wife the staff were very friendly with us and she looked very happy. She eats all of her food which is very good because in the other home she would not eat so I know she is happy. I live in London so I can not go and see her as much as I would like but I know she is being looked after very well, so thank you very much for that and a Happy New Year to you all from all the family.
My sister who is end-of-life is very well looked after. Bathed every day and has cream put all over her body. She is moved in the bed regularly so as to avoid bed sores. Communication between staff is excellent. Cleaning in the room is of a high standard.
I visit my auntie once a week and have found the staff very caring. The rooms are very clean and the dining area is lovely. I go to her room to get her a drink and find it is very clean. I cannot find any faults in the areas that I have seen.
Ashley Gardens Care Centre was the only home in the area that could take Mum after a spell in hospital. I was worried as I had heard bad reports but can honestly say they are the best! Mum is truly cared for by all the staff, who are very attentive and treat her like one of their own. I cannot praise the carers and nurses enough who work hard and still have the time and patience to sit and talk with the residents and their families. Nothing is too much trouble, kept informed of Mum's care every time we visit. They give first-class care, keeping residents entertained daily and not just left in a chair all day getting bored. Always something going on, a lovely calm place and happy Mum is in the right place and no longer worry about her, she is in good hands.
Excellent caring staff from all departments, with options of additional activities weekly, meal variety and dietary needs very good. The attention to individual care requirements needed for a homely type stay and the special little cat that visits the communal gardens daily.
The current manager has achieved good results relating to staffing levels, better practices of staff and recognising weak areas. Thus CQC result of Good overall. Responsibility and hard-working team hopefully will continue with the new manager. Aesthetic improvements have resulted in a far more pleasant environment. Progressive plans for 2025 are welcome. The job is always changing and all areas will need monitoring. Catering is very good. Activities, cleanliness and laundry are very good. The reception is welcoming.
There has been significant improvement in all areas of the home. Going forward this standard and ethos should be encouraged and maintained both for the benefit of the residents and moral of staff who now have the guidance and benchmark from which they can continue to move forward. Catering excellent, cleaning is excellent as is the activity program.
Once we managed to get a meeting with management actions were taken and they were quick. Every care home will have their issues which I understand, I've worked in a care home and in a management position myself and apparently our concerns and requests were not getting passed on. However once I spoke with the Deputy manager and Nurse myself and my father were impressed with how quick the actions occurred. They were both nice to keep us updated on his progress and his care.
My mum has been in this home since May 24. She was previously in a different home in Maidstone which was terrible care. We cannot fault Ashley Gardens Care Centre. The care she receives is amazing, carers and nurses make sure my mum is looked after and nothing is too much trouble for them. So pleased with this home, would recommend this home. Well done for giving my mum the care she needs and mum is happy.
We moved in in January 2014. It was cold and we came by ambulance from hospital. They took us to a lovely room warm clean and with a big window. The staff made a big fuss of us and I was happy to go home knowing my lovely wife was in good hands, we're still here so it must be good.
My mum is a resident at Ashley Gardens Maidstone and as a family we wanted to feed back how happy we are at the care Mum gets from the carers on her level who look after her on a daily basis. Following a recent resident's family general meeting which was positive to hear of future plans, we were all asked for feedback and my dad raised a point to improve Mum's feeding procedure, this has been filtered through to the staff on Mum's level straight away. As a family, staff on Mum's level are very good and we want to pass on our thanks mainly to two members of staff in particular who always go a little further and we can't thank them enough.
My mum was cared for with the utmost care and respect as were her immediate family. On our visits, she always looked clean tidy and very comfortable. Great knowledgeable team. At the end of my mum's life, the palliative end-of-life care was very calming and loving.
My mother was a resident at Ashley Gardens for 8 months and had the most wonderful care throughout. The staff were most attentive and often went out of their way to create a loving bond with her. As relatives and visitors at the home we were always looked after and were offered home comforts. A lovely setting at Ashley Gardens and excellent facilities. At the end of my mother’s life they made everything calm and peaceful. Thanks to everyone at Ashley Gardens.
My grandad came to Ashley Gardens Care Centre in November 2023. Grandad is in the early stages of dementia. His stay here has been nothing more than amazing the staff & management have gone above and beyond for him to meet his needs. He is so happy and settled and very well cared for here. Couldn’t wish for a better home for Grandad to be.
My brother-in-law has been at Ashley Gardens since October 2023. Personal care is outstanding, my relative is always well-presented. The home is so clean and the staff are very friendly and nothing is too much bother. The food is as good as what his wife would have given him. As a family, we are impressed with everything about Ashley Gardens.
When I came here to be assessed to see if I could live on my own, I was so humiliated because my daughter-in-law and son didn't want me to. I have been living in France but my husband had died from Parkinson's and cancer so I was ill, I had nursed him to the end - I was sent here. When you gave me my life back with wonderful kindness. One thing, closing the corridor door at night, carers couldn't hear someone shout for help and with dementia, didn't have the strength to press the button (but they had hidden strengths).
Have gone to the CQC, local authority. Healthcare Homes will keep going about the disgusting standards at this facility. Insects were left squashed on windows, the previous resident's belongings were left in the room, bare walls and broken TVs, and staff not responding to issues when raised. The worst thing is medication hidden behind a television and suggested my Nan put them there when she is bed-bound. No idea when she did not get her medication. No safeguarding in place and clearly neglecting the residents. The person opposite was in a state of distress, threw a yoghurt and the carer was rude to them and left. Yoghurt was left on the floor. Patient alarm calls are not answered and they go off constantly. My Nans alarm was unplugged. When raised previously it was then removed altogether. Was able to walk into the home freely to find her and into the patient's rooms as no staff was visible. Codes to move around the building were scratched into the ceilings and walls. Issues have been raised before and no action taken.
Whilst exploring and trying to comprehend the myriad of homes whilst awaiting for social services to assess my mum's needs, I wandered into this home and came across the manager. Suffice to say, the manager was more than helpful and offered to provide an assessment as to my mum's needs. This attitude of going above and beyond extends to the staff to the point that my mum currently resides in the home by choice!
The staff are always courteous and caring. They make an effort to engage with people. The place is clean and tidy.
I recently moved my aunt to Ashley Gardens due to my concerns in her previous home. At first, I was not sure whether Ashley Gardens was a better place for her because of their CQC rating, but goodness, after I met the manager it had completely blown my mind away and with all the recent changes being done for the better. Running a home is tough but I can see how resilient she is! The team here at Ashley Gardens is the most welcoming, friendly and extremely hardworking. Nothing fazed them. I visit my aunt at least twice a week, they have the best team who goes over and above. I’m glad I made the right decision, and it’s wonderful to see all the changes unfolding in front of our eyes!
