My mum moved to Barty House Nursing Home at the start of January and is receiving end-of-life care. We have been amazed at the friendliness, attention to detail and helpfulness of all the staff. There is always someone around to answer any questions we have and my mum is as comfortable and well cared for as she could possibly be during this difficult time.
My mother has received a very high quality of care throughout her stay at Barty House Nursing Home. The staff have been outstanding in responding to her needs. There is a genuine level of compassion. The environment is friendly and sympathetic and she has been well supported throughout. Often the staff have gone well above and beyond the expected level of care. Our family are very grateful for all the efforts provided by the staff at Barty House.
My husband has lived at Barty House Nursing Home for nearly two and a half years. He is very settled and calm and is always treated with love and respect. The support which he and all the family have received has been amazing. We are so grateful to all the staff for their love and attention to detail. It is a difficult decision for any family to take to place a loved one in a home but it was not long before we realised that My husband was happy and stable. The activities team make every day interesting and the office staff are always on hand to help with any worries. The nurses are amazing and the carers really do care! Thank you Barty!
Very pleased with every part of my mother's care at Barty House Nursing Home. She is safe and very comfortable, as she had a lot of falls at home, now we have peace of mind and we know she is well looked after. Many thanks to all the staff at Bethany House Nursing Home.
Excellent nursing care throughout. Well done to all the staff at Barty House. Mum will be 100 in June and much of her longevity is thanks to her care at Barty House. I think I have said it all!
My father spent the last three and a half weeks of his very long life in Barty House Nursing Home. He was treated compassionately and with respect. Nursing staff were on hand to answer our questions and were quick to make any adjustments necessary to my father's end-of-life care. All staff, including management, admin, nurses and domestic staff, were friendly and generous of their time. The care home is welcoming and clean and my father described staff as 'kind' and his treatment 'excellent'. Thank you.
Mum spent her last month of life at Barty House Nursing Home. It was a very difficult time for us. By the time she arrived at Barty House, she had suffered a head injury in hospital which left her almost completely uncommunicative and in constant and intense pain. The staff were courteous and compassionate. The nursing staff, one in particular, were very patient with us, talking us through how her condition would deteriorate and how they would adapt the care to reflect this. As her needs escalated, the home provided an enhanced level of care, over and above what the local authority had agreed to pay for. Care staff were very respectful of Mum's religious beliefs during her stay, including in the treatment of her body after she passed. The deputy manager made herself available outside working hours and the manager attended Mum's funeral. I can't stress how much we appreciated Barty House's care and attention and how much difference this made to us in the final stages of Mum's life.
My friend, for whom I had lasting power of attorney, passed away in Barty House recently. She was admitted following a severe stroke a year ago. Whilst she experienced a slow and steady decline as a result of her medical condition, the quality of care she received from Barty was excellent. She was treated as a much loved family member and whilst it is true that she did not want to be in a nursing home, it is also true that she was settled and content there. In spite of her lack of ability to move and to communicate, staff showed the utmost patience and respect for her, always treating her with dignity and how, I suspect, they would want to be treated themselves in similar circumstances, A well-led home, nothing was too much trouble, adapting diets, bringing activities to her, accommodating and responding to requests - all delivered promptly and appropriately. I have no hesitation in recommending Barty House. For those more able there is a wealth of activities to benefit from and a great chef too!
My mother has now been a fairly long term resident at Barty House Nursing Home. From the time my mum was admitted, we were both made to feel very welcome and supported and listened to, which for me as mum's only close relative, has been a very traumatic journey - she was seriously ill when she arrived at Barty House. Any concerns I have had, I feel have been listened to and taken on board and dealt with, and in particular, I have always felt that the Care Home Manager, has always had an open door policy and is very open to feedback as well as critique. For anybody who may unfortunately end up in a care home, it may never be home as they knew it, but Barty House comes a close second. My mum has been treated with patience, kindness, care and respect, and whilst things may not always be perfect, I am overall satisfied with the care my mum receives at Barty House. The staff are caring and dedicated and work very hard!
Barty House offers a very warm welcome to both residents and relatives. My husband has been resident there for seven months and he now seems settled there in a happy and caring environment. The staff soon make new residents 'part of the family' and relatives too are made to feel very welcome whenever they visit.
The staff at Barty House are amazing. The care they have shown to my parent has been exceptional. My parent was extremely lucky to get a placement here. As a resident they are listened to and their needs are met in a compassionate way.
My Grandma is so happy at Barty House. Considering her age, she is doing pretty well and she loves the atmosphere and services at the home. There is always a nice greeting from staff and everyone seems in good spirits. Lovely place to visit and a fantastic home to stay in. Excellent place.
The staff were absolutely brilliant, the care was wonderful, the room was very good, nice and sunny with a lovely outlook and the food was great too. It would be really hard to find fault with anything there.
My husband has been a resident at Barty House now for almost 2 years. The care/patience and kindness shown by all the management and staff is exceptional. The home’s conservatory is a lovely area with a garden view where residents can sit and watch all the wildlife. If you don’t want to join in the many varied activities in the lounge area this is where you can just sit and observe life, rather than staying alone in your room. Thank you to all the dedicated staff at Barty House for making my husband very happy and settled here.
During a stressful and highly emotional process of trying to find a safe place for my mother, management was an oasis of calm. They supported and helped immensely. My mother’s emotional and physical health are declining but I know she is in a supportive and kind environment.
My mum had a terrible stroke in 2020 leaving her unable to barely move, speak or eat (whole left side is paralysed) baring in mind this happened at the beginning of the pandemic so obviously was an awful time. She went straight from hospital and was taken to Barty House in August 2020 and for the first few months, she was in an ‘end of life’ situation and weighed around 25 stone. I’m unfortunately now fully disabled and can’t walk, the wonderful staff at Barty House meet me outside with a wheelchair to take me to see Mum and also take me back to the car again when I leave. I saw Mum a few days ago for her birthday and all the staff, namely one of the staff members couldn’t do enough to help. My mum looks incredible, they really look after her and have managed to bring her weight down to where she should be, she’s smiling a lot, her speech is getting better and she is writing on a wipe board too. I can’t thank all the staff enough for what they do, hats off to the manager, thank you again
Barty House Nursing Home is a homely, kind and very lovely nursing home. It is managed and run by genuine, skilled, caring and attentive staff. They filled our lovely mum's final weeks with sensitivity, tenderness and kindness. We will be eternally grateful to them for making our dear mum's passing comfortable and compassionate. I don’t think we would have managed so well had it not been for the warmth and kindness that was shown both to Mum and our family at this difficult time.
My father has settled well into life in the care home. He has been encouraged to participate in different activities. He is able to raise concerns at the resident's meeting and by emailing the manager. Staff are responsive to his needs and keep his family updated.
Since my mum has been there, her care has been excellent. Nothing is too difficult for them, the staff are lovely and always going the extra mile to help mum. The manager, is friendly and approachable, he is always willing to help you, if needed.
