View Full Details of Broad Oak Manor Care HomeThe food can be a school dinners, but you can ask for specific items, if they fall within the budget. The staff are usually helpful and well intentioned. I normally entertain myself and am not bothered with activities, but there are dedicated members of staff who organise activities, since local government pay for me, I don't know about value for money
Mum has been at Broad Oak Manor for 8 years and staff work very hard to create a warm and welcoming environment for residents and family members. I have peace of mind knowing that Mum is safe and well cared for. The staff are excellent and cope with the challenges of the work with good humour and kindness. I appreciate being able to be with Mum at any time of day or night, particularly when she isn't feeling too well. It feels like a home from home. I'm very involved with all aspects of Mum's care and staff are very supportive of this. When it was Mum's 100th birthday last year - staff pulled out all the stops to make it a special and memorable event for Mum. High praise for all the staff.
Since moving into Broad Oak Manor my aunt has made many friends among the residents and staff. She has settled well. Everyone is caring and considerate of her needs. I cannot praise them highly enough.
My uncle was treated with dignity and respect by the nursing and care team at Broad Oak Manor Care Home. I simply cannot praise their professionalism and compassion highly enough. In particular, the nursing care my uncle received was very impressive and gave me peace of mind. I knew he was in exceptionally capable hands and I deeply appreciated the time they took to keep me informed. I was very impressed by the range of activities for the residents. On my uncle's birthday, it was touching to see the lengths to which the team went to mark the day. It was deeply appreciated. The leadership and administration are second to none. Without hesitation, I would recommend Broad Oak Manor.
Excellent! Run by a proactive, responsive and strong leadership team. The manager's attitude of 'yes, we can make that happen' is reflected in the behaviours across all employees. They go to great effort to fully understand Mum's needs (and ours) and have quality, hard-working, committed, loyal and caring staff many of whom have been there for over 12 years. They have established a close working relationship with a local GP surgery with regular visits from an actual doctor (yes, a real live doctor!) who is very hands-on. The atmosphere is relaxed, fun, and caring. Information and updates are quickly shared with everyone being committed to making people feel comfortable, safe and at home. Thank you.
My mum spent four very happy years at Broad Oak Manor. She was treated with dignity, compassion and respect. She was a private individual and her desire to be quiet at times was appreciated. However, she was also encouraged to take part in the many activities that were organised and she had lots of fun doing so. The staff were always kind and we saw numerous examples of how fond they were of her. She, and we, regarded them as her second family. The nursing care she received was excellent and we always felt she was in very safe hands. I would have no hesitation in recommending Broad Oak Manor to anyone, who is looking for residential nursing care for a loved one.
My mother moved into Broad Oak Care Home in April 2024 and so far has enjoyed her experience once she has found her feet and was settled in. The settling-in process and readjustment to the Care Home took a few weeks, but that is only to be expected. The staff and helpers have all been very kind, caring, friendly and professional. They have made my mum feel welcome and help her when needed. The food is very good and there is the choice of eating in the restaurant or in her room. One of the many good aspects of the home is the daily morning and afternoon activities available. This helps Mum engage with others and get the exercise and company she needs. I would also like to comment on the helpfulness of Broad Oak's management in helping my mum decide which room was right for her. That was very kind and nice of the whole team. The nurse helps my mum with her daily tablets and any medical needs which is a reassurance. Thanks to all the Broad Oak staff.
Found all staff kind and very helpful. My mum is a lot better in herself and happier and looks so healthy now she is eating now and more mobile. I can go on holiday now knowing she is safe and in good hands.
My grandma was a resident of Broad Oak for 4 years. Although she was initially apprehensive, the staff were very patient and excellent at helping her settle in. From there, we saw her develop a new level of confidence and joy, joining in the range of activities and entertainment - she enjoyed dancing, music and even holding snakes! The staff understood her individual needs, and how important dignity, independence and pride were to her - and they ensured that this was respected right through to the final moments of her life. She always told us how lovely the staff were. This was important to us all and a great comfort in her last days. Every member of staff from the management team to carers, nurses, kitchen staff, and cleaners has treated her like a member of their own family. We can't thank Broad Oak enough for everything. We feel so lucky to have found such a great home for my Grandma in her last years, and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.
Our mother was looked after by very kind thoughtful caring staff throughout her three years in Broad Oak Care Home. Mum liked the food which for her was little and often which suited her small appetite. Although Mum was bedbound she wasn't short of company, she liked her door left open so that all the staff could say hi on the way passed or drop in for a chat. We were comforted by the fact that Mum thought of Broad Oak as her home and knowing that she was being well looked after by kind and friendly staff. As Mum viewed Broad Oak as her home we were delighted that the home allowed Mum to make her final journey from the care home, we cannot speak highly enough of the care Mum and the family received.
My mother has been a resident of Broad Oak Manor Care Home since September 2020. She is in a wheelchair and needs full personal hygiene, medical as well as physical care. The care my mother has received at all times has been excellent - the staff, across all levels, have become friends as far as my mother is concerned and her every need is catered for. Given her age and personality, my mother is not the easiest of people to deal with, however, the staff have never let that bother them and have remained extremely friendly, pleasant and caring at all times and my mother recognises this! She readily admits that she is very happy being a resident of the care home and loves the staff and the way they care for her and help her My three brothers and I are so delighted that we were able to find such a terrific care home for our mother (particularly given the circumstances in 2020 and my mother’s physical and medical needs) - it is such a great comfort to us to know that she is happy.
Outstanding care given to Mum by all the staff. The home is always clean, the staff polite, helpful, happy and have time to spend with the residents never appearing to have to rush. The activity coordinators do lots of one-to-one activities with those who are bed-bound. The home always has a bright and happy atmosphere.
Our family is very pleased with the care and attention given to the residents. We have no complaints we find the care team very approachable and friendly. Always willing to answer any questions and queries.
From the first day my mother arrived, she was treated with great respect. All the staff at the home made her feel welcome and soon all learnt her name. The food is excellent. The activities are good fun for the residents and keeps their minds active. I can't say enough about the staff they are all excellent and very friendly. My mother loves it at Broad Oak Manor Care Home and we can relax knowing my mother is safe and being well cared for.
We were very impressed with Broad Oak Manor Care Home. We had a lovely welcome when we arrived, the staff were friendly and efficient and the home is very clean and tidy. Our Mum’s room is very nice and she is very happy.
Clean friendly atmosphere. Nurses are approachable and seem happy to help. Care staff are very polite and obliging. Staff appear able to manage residents with occasional behaviours that challenge. The food is very good my friend is eating better then she ever has and enjoys her meals. Staff treat my friend with dignity at all times and her care needs are met. There is a good range of activities available even to those that aren't mobile.
I am very impressed with how everyone is so friendly and the staff can’t do enough For the residents. Mum is very happy and made friends and she loves to join in all the activities and going outside in the beautiful garden. The staff always makes the visitors welcome, very happy, friendly.
They have been very sensitive and understanding for my mum coming into the care home for the first time and helping her feel safe and happy and able to make friends again and now feeling this is her home.
Couldn’t rate this care home high enough! My mum has been here since October 2022, from Christmas cards, to birthday cards and cake to Easter eggs, she’s included in it all. The staff are attentive and take care of her in an unbelievable way, given her fragile state. Highly recommend this care home to anyone.
My mother-in-law moved to Broad Oak Care Home in August 2022 after stays in the hospital and other rehab and assessment units. We wanted to find her the best home that she could be happy and comfortable in, so we arranged to view the home, it's a beautiful home with lovely gardens and very comfortable rooms throughout the home. We picked Broad Oak and arranged for mum to move there. After a settling-in period, she now loves living there and gives us peace of mind too, the staff are so lovely, very friendly and very caring. It's lovely that we can join in as a family in some of the activities they put on, especially at certain times of the year like Christmas etc. Mum is happy and comfortable loves all the staff and feels that it is also her safe place! Thoroughly recommend this home!
