View Full Details of Ashcroft Nursing HomeIn my experience. I love this care home. The staff are lovely, and they treat my dad well and with respect, and I couldn't ask for more.
The management are very good. Food and cleanliness of rooms is very poor. The staff are generally good but weekends everything seems to go downhill.
I am happy with the care my mother receives in Ashcroft. She is very fond of the staff and she feels very much at home. I wish there was more going on in the lounges in the way of activities although their aim is to improve this shortly. I am always notified if there is a problem with Mum and am kept up to date with any changes in her medications etc.
Very happy with the way Mum is looked after.
In general, my partner is looked after in a satisfactory manner, but I do find that some staff need to improve their training. Some meals are better than others, the portions are bigger than necessary but could be served warmer.
I have been well supported through my illnesses/condition whilst I have been here during the last 3 1/2 years. My medication is provided promptly each day, along with other needs I have on a daily basis. Overall I am very satisfied with all services provided for me.
Good.
We find that the home is very good. They look after my mum very well, even though she has a lot of things wrong with her health.
The care for Mum is very good so far. Staff are lovely friendly and kind. When I have questions, staff always try to help.
I arrived at Ashcroft House following a major operation in hospital for cancer, through social services. My first impressions were of a clean and comfortable surrounding. All the staff were welcoming and attentive. Everything felt - and still is - a high-quality and effective service, two years on nearly! With plenty of activities available to fill the days. And while promoting a "back to health" service setting.
Staff are excellent, very understanding and caring. Dad is very happy at Ashcroft he is very fond of all staff, all his needs are met. He is looked after really well and I am kept updated of any changes. The social media group is good I get to see Dad enjoying the entertainment via video messages. Visiting hours are very flexible. Dad is on pureed food and 90% of time has a clean plate. Have and do recommend home to friends etc. who have family with dementia.
My experience at Ashcroft Care Home has always been positive. All members of staff I've encountered over the last few years have been polite, friendly and professional. I and other family and friends have called without prior notice, and my resident relative is always found to be clean, tidy, well cared for and seems content.
I have the pleasure of my nan staying here. My nan has dementia which can be hard at times. When I was looking after my nan at my house, it got tougher and tougher so I had to make a brave decision to let a nursing home take care of her. I was a bit dubious at first, but once my nan settled in, I knew I made the right decision. The staff are very helpful, plus they all seem to be happy at their job, which is always a nice thing to see. I get updates, phone calls and even pictures to see how she is getting on. If I get like my nan, I wouldn't mind having her room.
Mum has been in Ashcroft Nursing Home for some time now, her care is exceptional. The staff have so much patience with the residents and make them feel special. I am more than happy with the care Mum has. Her food is always very well cooked and looks very appetising.
My dad seems happy in his care home and it seems to meet all his needs. Always good food, although my dad doesn't like vegetables at all. And you are listened to if you have a problem which I think is very important.
Ashcroft was chosen as a placement for my dad once his hospital admission had come to an end. I am not impressed by this nursing home and I would not recommend it to anyone. Although some staff are nice and attentive - it is understaffed and on one occasion my father soiled himself and needed to get changed before dinner and no one was available whilst the dinner was being sorted and he had to eat his food whilst soiled. Tablet administration is not done properly and tablets were sometimes found by relatives at visiting times on my dad. Updates were not often given to the family and whilst in the home he had an infection on two occasions one being a bank holiday where I was asked to go get antibiotics for my dad as they were understaffed. I feel he deteriorated in this placement and he was sleeping most of the day and wasn't ever taken out of his room with a hoist and special bucket chair and his mental health suffered. We moved him to a better placement and he has already improved.
Although I find this care home a little tired, the staff more than make up for that. It is the reason that I chose this home above the rest for my mum. The staff, to include, admin staff, carers, event coordinators, maintenance and agency staff have the utmost patience, consideration and empathy with their residents and visitors.
I found the care by the staff to be first class. They treat the residents and visitors with respect and dignity. The entrance to the home (inside) was very festive and welcoming as were the staff. The lounge was also very pleasant. The overall cleanliness was very good. My sister's room was very clean although I did not find it cosy, although I can see that if she was having a difficult day, any extras put in the room would be in the way of the staff needing to treat her. The staff all deserve medals for their care and compassion.
My family member has only been a resident here for a month and we as a family are so happy with the care, love and support to our family member. He is extremely well looked after and his overall health and wellbeing has greatly improved. The staff are amazing with the activities provided daily, excellent. We are thrilled that he is to remain here as we know he is safe and cared for. Thank you.
