View Full Details of Eglantine Villa Care HomeWe moved my Mum in to Eglantine care home in 2025. I have to say it's the best decision we could have made. She is so happy there. The staff love her and she loves them. When we visit mum we are treated as part of the Eglantine family. Highly recommend them.
The standard of care was outstanding, dad was well cared for and happy. The home was always clean and smelt fresh. The residents were very well entertained with plenty of activities. Relatives were always welcome at any part of the day, and the staff were always friendly and welcoming. We could highly recommend this home. There was always a variety of home-cooked food on the menu too.
Husband has been in this care home for 12 years. Over that period, care changed from good to moderate. In the last 2 years, you had the feeling that it was homely and more care given to residents. I understand it is not an easy profession and I am grateful.
We used the respite service for about 10 days for my mum, who has dementia, as we were going abroad. The staff were very friendly, they helped Mum settle in very quickly. They were very attentive to our queries and Mum's needs, this helped put our anxieties at ease. The staff were very professional and pleasant at all times across the board.
Since being in Lavender Cottage my mum is the happiest I have seen her in a very long time. The staff treat her with respect and compassion. She has a very fulfilled life with lots of activities to support all of her needs. Thank you Eglantivne Villa for helping my mum to settle, and myself and my sister are happy that we chose this home, it is a credit to every member of your staff.
Eglantine Villa is a wonderful care home and my impression when I walked through the door was how homely it felt, and I could hear laughter and I knew this was the right place for dad. The care my dad receives is amazing. He is treated with compassion and dignity and every member of staff there do a fantastic job. Thank you for making every difficult decision the right decision.
I am very grateful for the staff and that mum is able to live there. The staff know the relationship I have with my mum and are caring enough to help me with that. I find it hard to visit my mum even after just over a year since she joined the residents. She has made friends and enjoys the activities
The home has been wonderful looking after my dad and the staff have been great they look after me too when I visit.
My dear wife was a resident there for 18 months until she sadly passed away in June 2023. I cannot speak too highly of the staff that looked after and cared for her right up to the end. I cannot thank them enough for looking after her and knowing that she was happy there and knowing she was safe.
Generally very good. Sometimes a problem with breakfast being last and therefore too close to lunchtime. Pleasant staff.
After adjusting to his new environment Dad appears to be very happy and content. He is making friends to the best of his ability. Staff are very caring and take care of his needs. I have absolutely no complaints about this home.
Staff always friendly, polite and welcoming. The home has a relaxed and homely atmosphere. Lots of activities organised. Sometimes care plans (online) missing relevant and important information. Would be helpful if entries had a time when they are written.
My friend is clearly happy and settled at Eglantine Villa, Lavender Cottage. It is very reassuring for her friends and family to know that she is surrounded by such caring and professional staff at every level. The food is of outstanding quality and thoroughly enjoyed! The activities provided are stimulating and fun. There is a homely and optimistic atmosphere, which makes it a delightful home to visit. The beautiful grounds make a wonderful backdrop to view from the lounge and conservatory which is relaxing. I cannot recommend Eglantine Villa highly enough.
My Mum was taken into respite care for two weeks in February of this year. She has since become a permanent resident and I have to say that it is a relief for me knowing that my Mum is in excellent hands. As I live a few hour's drive from the home I was concerned that I would not be able to monitor my Mum. However, I am able to keep an eye on her from a distance via the Gateway system which gives me updates on my Mum and it has reassured me that my brother and I have 100% done the right thing having my Mum placed in the home. Since she has been there she has become engaged in lots of the activities in the home and all of her needs are being looked after. My Mum loves music and likes nothing better than to sing along with music and she appears to be settling into the environment well. She appears to be happy and content and that is all that we could wish for. I cannot thank all of the staff at the home for making this very difficult decision easier for us.
My Uncle moved into Eglantine Villa after a stay in hospital. At the same time, my Aunt became ill and wasn’t able to look after him with his additional needs. The staff are excellent, they really look after him. Nothing is too much trouble. They have made it so much easier for him to accept living in a home. The food is all freshly cooked and is excellent. The grounds are well maintained and when it gets warmer we will be able to take him for a walk in our wheelchair as he has always loved to do gardening. The Bupa relatives gateway is great for keeping updated. The nursing staff keep us informed of any changes. We looked at other homes in the area and this is definitely the best.
I researched and viewed a lot of care homes in the area and this one came top with their outstanding reviews. The staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble. My parents are safe, very well cared for and have settled down enjoying their new environment. If you are looking for a care home I would highly recommend Eglantine Villa.
My dad was in Eglantine Villa since 2017, the carers showed my dad lots of love and care, my dad was quite a noisy character and enjoyed fun and banter which he got with the staff. They also managed him when his behaviour was challenging. I am very grateful and pleased that my dad spent his last few years at the home, the nurses and staff were amazing.
Relief after a rough start in another care home! We were blown away by the compassion and empathy my dear old dad received on his arrival. We would say this home is exceptional and would highly recommend it to anyone who is currently looking. (I have even said to my husband should I ever need to be placed in care, please put me here!). It has a home-from-home atmosphere, and the day staff go above and beyond to deliver outstanding service. Even though his stay was short, he had already started to call it his 'Villa'. Sadly Dad passed not so long ago, but we know it was the best decision made, and he got the best care.
My father moved to Eglantine Villa in January 2023. He sadly suffered a stroke in December 2020, was in hospital in 2021 and in a nursing home in 2022. Sadly, due to the lack of care he received in the nursing home he had a steep decline in his very limited mental and physical capabilities. The move to Eglantine Villa has been such a smooth transition, the care is extremely attentive and he is very well looked after. The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are well-kept. The staff are all very friendly and engaging and you can tell they care a lot about their job. My dad has started to engage in conversation for the first time in several months, he seems brighter and happier. The staff care a lot about residents engaging with other residents and they have taken the time to get to know Dad and his interests. The food looks lovely, I'm sure dad is loving the 'midnight menu' that is provided! I can finally find peace in that he is in the best place for him.
Dad hasn't been at Eglantine for long, but in the short time he has been there, he has shown improvement following a year in a care home that didn't have the same level of care or facilities. The staff at Eglantine are brilliant, they make us feel so welcome as a family visiting our dad, and all seem to genuinely care about the residents and make a point of getting to know them. The facilities are also great, with the home feeling modern, clean and homely, which is really nice.
