View Full Details of Gloucester HouseThe care home is the best. My grandpa was supported well. Thank you so much!
What a wonderful welcome the staff at Gloucester House have given my mum. Her care is superb, and she has improved so much since moving into the home. The staff are catering to her specific needs from a nursing and caring perspective, and we are so grateful.
My mother has lived at Gloucester House for nearly two years. It is now home to her, and the wonderful staff are welcoming and feel like family. I feel 100% confident that Mum is very well looked after. Owing to dementia, Mum has declined mentally and physically in the past two years, but she is living the best life possible. She eats and drinks well and appears well and happy. I feel incredibly grateful to everyone at Gloucester House who contributed to Mum's well-being. Thank you!
My husband has been here for four years and is well looked after.
My father has been at Gloucester House for a few weeks and I could not have asked for him to be anywhere better. This home has a lovely warm atmosphere, he is very well cared for and every member of staff I've come across is so friendly, including the manager. He has been placed here after a prolonged hospital stay after failed re-hab attempts and also short stays in two other nursing homes, Gloucester House is by far the best in comparison.
I'm a resident at Gloucester House, having been placed here after several months in hospital in order to recuperate from pressure sores. I am very impressed with the level of care here and the friendliness of all staff members. After having been placed in re-hab centres and a couple of other homes prior to this, I feel that Gloucester House is by far the best and has given me hope that I may eventually go home.
The team here are wonderful, the manager sets a high example of empathy and kindness. It can be very difficult sometimes when we have to rely on agency staff who can make life difficult for the regular staff and residents. I realise this is inevitable. It is a very well-run home where they do the best they can to make it as happy as possible in what for many of us is a radical change of lifestyle.
My visits to Gloucester House to visit a friend are always cheerful and it has a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly and helpful.
Lovely friendly staff, pleasant and clean throughout the home. My nan is well looked after and couldn't be in a better place. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff, even when they are busy. Keep up the good work.
My friend came to Gloucester House on the 1st of July. We have nothing but praise for the care he is getting and the support his wife is having. The staff, including the handyman, are in and out of his room chatting throughout the day. The food is excellent and you seem to be one step ahead with all the help he needs, during the day and night. You have made his wife feel at home with him when she is here and that is so essential for her in coping with all that is happening. The manager has been a great leader and deals with all problems and joys with open arms with time being no problem. We are with my friend at his home.
My dad came to Gloucester House in January and his/our family has been reassured by the expert care that he is being given. Just as importantly we're really moved by the compassion of the staff and by the thoughtful adjustments that have been made to his care over these six months as everyone has got to know him. Gloucester House has welcomed my dad with open arms and the staff has also shown kindness and consideration to his family and friends, whether that's in person or via video call; during lockdown or in the current more open environment. My dad is able to be himself in what has become his home from home and we are all incredibly grateful.
I find Gloucester House to be a very friendly, warm and caring care home. It really does have the feel of a home rather than an institution and the staff facilitate this in the work they do. The atmosphere is always lovely and I feel there is always a welcome for visitors. The residents appear to be happy and well cared for having all their needs met. Food is wonderful too!
Generally very good. The necessary use of locums does however result in a temporary reduction in the level of service/care. Diabetic meal choices are somewhat restricted.
My mother was admitted from an acute hospital following a fall. Mum was anxious and frightened after her previous experience. The staff at Gloucester House have been nothing but friendly and welcoming. They have worked hard to gain not only my mother's trust but mine too. Having been mum's sole carer it has not been an easy transition but I was welcomed into the home as an essential carer allowing me to continue to help with my mum's care. The staff in Hever Village have been brilliant, kind, and patient with mum. It was obvious from the start that they knew how to look after very dependent residents. They use moving and handling equipment with ease and are skilled at transferring or moving residents. I have been grateful for the time and effort they have put into providing mum with a suitable diet and trying to help with her various allergies etc. We are very grateful to all the staff and would not hesitate to recommend Gloucester House.
The patient comes first before money. The staff are caring, respectful, and thoughtful. Management updates me on anything that’s necessary. My husband has improved cognitively since residing at Gloucester House. I am happy and relaxed knowing he is being well cared for. The nicest thing is I’m listened to if I have any concerns. Due to covid, it’s difficult to assess activities but I know they have now resumed and looks like there is a full timetable.
My brother came to Gloucester House on an end of life plan on 19th March 2018. The care and consideration he has received from the staff is exemplary and he is thriving. I recommend this home to any member of the public who reluctantly has to put a loved one into care.
On behalf of all my family, I would like to express our thanks to the staff at Gloucester House for the wonderful care which you have given to my wife over the last two and a half years. She has been suffering from Parkinson's and Dementia and throughout her stay the care she has received has been outstanding, not only has the nursing been excellent but without exception, the staff have gone beyond the call of duty to ensure her comfort. The love shown by the staff to my wife and support for our family has been a huge comfort. These attitudes cannot be measured in a CQC report, which if Gloucester House is not given a rating of 'outstanding' is missing the point that Gloucester House is, in our opinion, the best nursing home in the area.
From the time my mother-in-law arrived at Gloucester House (July 2018) to the time she died (January 2020), she was treated with kindness. I cannot praise the management and staff enough for making the last 18 months of her life a happy one. Having seen 14 care home before finding Gloucester House, I am certain this was the best possible place for her. I would recommend it to anyone. The staff here are wonderful.
My mother arrived, begrudgingly, at Gloucester House in 2019 with late-stage dementia and passed away today. She became happy there and was beautifully looked after with care and love. I cannot imagine a better final few months for her and thanks to all at the home. I can't imagine a better place or a more caring environment.
A genuine, lovely nursing home. The building and rooms are light and cheery. The design is well thought out with low-level windows and en-suite wet rooms. The staff are engaging and treat residents with respect; planning plenty of activities to entertain the residents. One favourite is the toddler group. A brilliant idea to mix different generations, benefitting both groups. Staff do take a genuine interest in the residents, referring to them by name rather than a room number. The home is well managed which is possibly attributed to the current manager's nursing background. Thank you!
