View Full Details of Rusthall Lodge Care HomeMum is well looked after. The staff are very attentive approachable and friendly. Despite the recent management change, we remain very happy with the level of care.
I have nothing but praise for Rusthall Lodge Care Home. The staff are very approachable and helpful. They try to accommodate the individual needs. There is a good daily activity programme. A good menu selection. The residents are safe and cared for.
Over the last four months of residence here I have found the home a safe, comfortable and caring environment. Staff have been very pleasant and particularly supportive and caring in dealing with health issues.
The care, love and support shown to my mother, who died in November 2023 and the ongoing support to my step-father is excellent.
My parents have been residents at Rusthall Lodge for over a year now, and the family have all been delighted with the care they receive. They are warm, happy, safe and looked after with care and dignity by all of the staff.
From the very first assessment visit to now, everyone has shown and provided the utmost care for my dad. He originally came for respite care but sadly deteriorated due to pneumonia which was quickly picked up. He was very poorly but thankfully rallied. During that very difficult time, the team provided excellent care for Dad and provided me with support and guidance based on their incredible levels of experience and empathy. Everything they do is centred on Dad's best interest. Seeing the same carers week after week has been reassuring as they really get to know the residents, and their likes and dislikes. Dad has really benefited from being able to sit outside in the beautiful garden. It really raises his spirits. I am very thankful that Dad is spending his final days in such a safe and caring environment.
My mum has been living at Rusthall Lodge for 18 months. It is a lovely place and I would recommend it to anyone. The best part of the home is the staff, who are fantastic - friendly and kind. Nothing is too much trouble. They have supported Mum through a very difficult time with her health and have been immensely kind to me too. Mum has her own pictures, curtains and furniture in her room and it feels just like home. Food is wholesome and portions are generous. (The homemade cakes are delicious!) The building is immaculately clean with plenty of facilities and activities from themed parties to hymn singing. There's a well-stocked library, kitchenettes to make your own drinks and several sitting rooms with big TVs, jigsaws and games. The residents are a mixture of ages and health conditions, so the environment is stimulating and Mum has made some close friends. Perhaps most importantly, I know Mum is safe. I trust the team totally and am so glad we found them.
I feel confident that my mother-in-law is in safe hands and is being looked after in a manner which befits her age. Moreover she is treated with dignity by a team of experienced caring staff and management. Any issues which are of concern are dealt with promptly. In short, this is a well run establishment, which is more like a country hotel than a care home.
Mum has been a resident since October 2023. She has been treated with nothing but kindness, dignity and love by all members of staff. Her room is lovely and has all that she needs, even down to the personal pictures etc that were put on walls for her. I can rest easy knowing that when I leave after a visit that she is content and happy and all her needs are well catered for.
Very happy with everything.
I have been visiting my friend for several months now. From the minute I went in I felt that it was a happy place and well run. I have worked in many homes over the years and I had a good feel about Rusthall Lodge. Staff all appear very kind and caring to the residents. They are treated with dignity and respect and residents look happy and cared for. Any issues are dealt with promptly by senior staff who are very approachable. The lounge areas are clean and bright overlooking a well-kept patio/garden. Every day there's activities going on. Very varied and something my friend likes to join in with. They have outside entertainers coming in too. Reindeer came at Christmas which my friend loved! Staff, and I mean all the staff, I've come across have made me feel very welcome and have really helped my friend settle in. Rusthall Lodge is a happy, well-run home.
The care staff are lovely. They really look after the residents and respond quickly to a resident's needs. The residents' rooms are a good size. The day rooms are well equipped with board games, etc. They are light and airy and have direct access to a lovely patio area with tables and chairs and a water feature and pretty gardens with benches. The well-being team are brilliant at encouraging residents to join in a wide variety of daily activities. and gardens. The nursing staff are well qualified, kind and efficient. The dining room is light and airy and often has fresh flowers on the table. The menu has a good choice of meals.
I had been taking care of my husband for 4 years at home, however, his needs became such that he needed the care only a care home can provide. The experience of other respite facilities gave me serious concerns as to what I could expect. Thankfully, I found Rusthall Lodge, initially for respite. The care and kindness of all staff for both my husband and I was the first thing I found, they were professional and well trained, and there were nurses on hand at all times. My husband is now a resident and I couldn't be more pleased knowing he is in such good hands.
My husband, with complicated special needs, stayed while I, his 24/7 carer, had respite. He has always been excessively anxious when l am out of his sight, and l was concerned he would be desperately unhappy. However, on returning home, he was saying he had had a wonderful time and was now sad because he would be all alone again, with no one popping in. He had been really happy with all the kind and friendly staff and will be glad to return. I felt that all the staff went out of their way to make him comfortable and stress-free, that includes the chef. The local district nurses also speak highly of Rusthall Lodge and l would recommend it unreservedly. We will be back!
I visited my father and as on previous visits noted the kindness and respect shown by the staff members who looked after dad. From the moment I entered and received a friendly greeting and a cup of tea it was clear that Rustall Lodge place great importance on ensuring their residents feel safe, cared for and content. Dad's room was comfortable he enjoys the food and has mentioned a number of times how friendly, helpful and attentive the staff are. Rates are high but there is no doubt that the quality of care here is also high. Thank you to concerned.
Have always been very impressed with quality of care and attention the resident has received, even during the worst of the pandemic. Communications with relatives could be improved but has not caused a problem. A little more attention to tidiness of resident's rooms is needed occasionally. Overall, the standard of care and kindness at Rusthall Lodge is exemplary.
My wife went into Rusthall Lodge in December 22021. Everyone at Rusthall Lodge did a fantastic job in welcoming her and getting her settled in. She has settled in really well and really appreciated the way the care staff look after her.
The staff at Rusthall Lodge do their best to make Rusthall Lodge a friendly and happy place. Keeping going during the pandemic has been an additional challenge.
Rusthall Lodge accommodation is clean, light and airy with excellent accessibility and has a lovely garden for residents and visitors to enjoy. Staff are friendly, caring and approachable and there are regular varied activities available to residents. As a family, we are updated with information about changes for the residents, in particular now with regard to mum’s current health, and during the pandemic we have been kept very well informed and supported, with continued safe visits once they were allowed. The only negative point is with regard to food. The weekly menu looks amazing, with a very good selection of meals on offer however the meals provided to mum during our visits were not good and did not appear to have been presented with a poor appetite in mind. Having said that, I enjoyed a very nice lunch in the dining room in November last year and we are aware that the home have been trying to address the issue regarding meals.
Rusthall Lodge is in a quiet area with accommodation on two floors. Rooms at the front overlook gardens and staff parking space, at the back you can see woodland. Activities here are a book group, poetry group, and various craft activities popular games are available. Scrabble is a favourite. Residents have meals in the dining room or their rooms. The food is good with large helpings. Wine or fruit juice is served at mealtimes. Most important is the way the home looks after your health. The Lodge was extremely good at dealing with Covid using lateral flow tests, PCR tests lockdown, and barrier nursing.
