View Full Details of Barchester Winchester House Care CentreMy mother spent just over 3 years at Winchester House. All the staff helped her feel safe and secure, which was always very important to her. There were plenty of activities arranged, which my mother always enjoyed. I would happily recommend Winchester House.
Thank you all for looking after me. You are kind and cheerful also very happy people excellent care!
Happy with mum's care. Mum is happy and settled here.
Our experience since October last year of our mum's care has been very good, the staff have been very attentive and the food is of a high standard. We are pleased she is being well cared for, and have peace of mind when we go home.
My mum spent two weeks at Winchester House for respite care following a 19-night stay in Medway Hospital. She enjoyed her time there, and all the staff were very kind and compassionate to her. She was able to get the rest and care she needed to enable her to gain her strength, and mobility and be well enough to go back to her own home. I wouldn't hesitate to place her there again should the circumstances arise.
Staff were quick to learn names. I was positively encouraged to use the call button at night to get drinking water. The television really needed a manual, but everything else was intuitive. Staff put themselves out to accommodate late returns from hospital, much appreciated. Overall: Excellent.
Amazing team at Winchester House Care Centre. My mother was well cared for in her last few weeks of life. Everyone who visited Mum had good words regarding the home and staff who made sure we were all looked after too and we can not thank them enough.
My father entered respite care after years of trying to avoid care homes and was quite worried about how he may be looked after. These worries quickly disappeared due to the lovely and caring environment at Barchester Winchester House Care Centre. His initial assessment was detailed and was aimed at giving him the best care possible, this included finding out what he likes to eat and what he liked to be called. My father has always been extremely happy staying at the home, on every occasion and has only expressed how well he is looked after. The carers feel like family to him and the other residents like friends. I couldn't recommend Winchester House enough.
To keep it brief - excellent facilities and staff. From the moment you walk in, everyone is so kind and friendly. Mum is cared for extremely well by all the staff. I have been coming here on and off for ten years and it just seems to get better year on year. Thank you to all the staff, you know who you are!
My dad was placed here last November after frequent falls and unable to stay at home anymore. The home is always clean and the decor is very tasteful. There is a menu available each day with fantastic choices to choose from with an option to choose something off the menu. I cannot speak highly enough of the care and support that has been given to my dad, all the staff are so friendly and happy! A must in my opinion. My dad is really happy and he has a good structured day with routine, there is also a timetable of events throughout the week that range from boat trips, crafts, games, singing and entertainment. There is always something to do. Staff are always available to answer any questions and are very knowledgeable in their roles. I was quite worried when Dad first went into residential care but I can honestly say I never worry and feel 100% confident about his welfare, safety and that his day-to-day needs are met.
I could not have wished for better care for my lovely mother. All the staff were just amazing and so caring not just to my mother, but to all the family and friends that visited her. I have many happy memories with mum during this very sad and difficult time thanks to the level of caring, support and genuine care, they really did care. I cannot thank them enough for their kindness and compassion.
My brother and I arranged respite care for my dad as we were all going abroad for my daughter's wedding. Prior to his admission, my brother and I visited the home to look around. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Dad also went there for lunch to meet the staff and residents before his stay. On the day of his admission, everyone welcomed Dad and us. The staff could not have been more helpful, making Dad feel safe and comfortable. We were in regular contact with the staff while we were away. Dad was so well cared for and staff kept us fully informed on how he was. I cannot thank every staff member enough for the support they have given us, as a family, and how they looked after Dad. It gave us peace of mind while we were away. We would recommend Barchester Winchester House Care Centre to anyone looking for a home which will care for their loved ones.
My father was a resident for 2.5 years. The staff have all been consistently caring, helpful and supportive. The support from senior management has been fantastic. The reception staff warm, welcoming and supportive. All the staff on Marconi very caring and patient towards Dad. Dad's last month was on La Farge and all staff were caring, respectful and supportive to Dad.
Had a lovely morning listening to wonderful songs from the past. All the staff interacted with the residents who were enjoying the music. Loved the staff dressing up and the flags provided. Great entertainment. Lovely facilities, nice cakes and drinks for visitors.
Was lovely to see the genuine care and friendliness all members of staff gave to residents - stroking, holding hands and care contact. Lovely, clean, fresh, beautifully decorated areas and we came when their was 40s singing and entertainment where residents joined in and even danced.
I have been visiting daily for two years, the staff are always pleasant and helpful, they're always willing to help and answer any questions. The rooms are always kept clean and tidy and the gardens are kept beautifully too. The lady I visit is well cared for and seems happy to be there. Lovely food with lots of choices daily. Would highly recommend this care home.
The minute you walk into Barchester Winchester House Care Home, you feel like you are walking into a five-star hotel, you’re greeted by very happy, welcoming and helpful staff. The whole care home is decorated and furnished to a high standard. All of the corridors, community areas and furnishings are spotless. My mum has been a dementia resident at Winchester House for the last five months and the care and attention she receives from the carers and nursing staff is excellent, they are all so dedicated. It took Mum a while to settle in but the staff are all so understanding and patient they helped her greatly. She is now much happier. Her room is nicely furnished, warm and is kept tidy and cleaned daily. The food is of a high standard. I feel very happy leaving my mum knowing that she is safe and well looked after. Winchester House is a well-run, professional and happy environment. All staff, from management, nursing, carers, cleaners etc., are all very professional, happy, helpful and caring.
The family's experience has generally been very good. We are very happy that Mum is in a safe environment. The staff seem friendly and kind and always keen to help if asked. My only criticism is that the furniture and carpet in Mum's room are rather dated, albeit still serviceable.
My 91-year-old mother has a four-week stay at Winchester House after a hip replacement. All of the staff were amazing in their care and attention to her. Nothing was too much trouble for them. I have nothing but praise and admiration for them. The food was excellent. A varied activity plan was brilliant.
We arrived at Barchester Winchester House Care Centre with some trepidation as we had pre-conceived ideas of care homes. This was quickly dispelled by the staff at reception who were friendly and helpful. A great front end to a business. This care and attention to detail were noted throughout the induction process. Help was given at every turn and no question was too much to be answered fully. With a month gone by the initial enthusiasm to be a person-centred organisation has not diminished. The staff are kind, caring and understanding. As a husband, I have to thank the staff for their reassurance and help in this difficult time. Thank you.
