View Full Details of Singleton Nursing and Residential HomeI'm writing this review whilst sitting at the bedside of my mum who heartbreakingly, probably won't get to feel the sun upon her face tomorrow. Mum only arrived here 2 weeks ago and in that time, every single person involved in mum's care have been nothing but kind, empathetic and treated mum with so much respect and love. But, that love and kindness as been extended to myself and other members of the family. I know tonight is going to be hard but I genuinely feel the staff here are supporting me like they are family and friends. So Thank you Singleton x
This was Dad's second visit to Singleton Nursing and Residential Home. He had been looking forward to returning for Christmas, fun, games and company. Sadly Dad became unwell unexpectedly and was cared for very well by the nursing and care staff. The care staff also looked after us as a family and we were well supported. We are very grateful Dad was in such a lovely, caring environment for his last days.
A very caring home and all staff approachable and willing to assist. Room and cleanliness 5 stars. Empathy and respect a common traits. The manager and her team are delivering the care promised 24 hours 365 days. One staff member was very understanding and explained medical conditions with clarity. Another staff member raised the spirits of someone terminally ill. Life was to be enjoyed, great home, great staff.
We want to take this opportunity to extend our gratitude and thanks for the amazing level of care that was shown towards my mother at Singleton Nursing Home. The our team went over and above all our expectations in providing for her opportunities for enrichment and simulation, as well as meeting her considerable healthcare needs. Your commitment to providing a home from home for my mother was a great comfort and reassurance to my elderly father, who was also treated with compassion when he visited on a daily basis. We can't express just how much of a difference this has made to the lives of not only mum but to dad and my own family. Knowing, with confidence, that mum was safe, happy (as far as she could be) and well looked after meant that our huge burden of responsibility was lessened. Please extend our heartfelt thanks to your brilliant team, who were always cheerful and encouraging to mum.
Overall a very good experience. You are treated by a caring staff who will try and satisfy any request. Accommodation is good with activity every day. The food is of good quality and presented well. Only slight hesitation over poor limited TV channels. It would not cost much to offer certain channels. I would not hesitate to recommend this facility.
Mum was at Singleton for over 4 years, she was always treated very well by all of the staff, in her final days they could not have been more attentive both for Mum by giving her the ongoing care to make her comfortable but also the family when they were either just visiting or being at Mums bedside. I am so pleased we chose Singleton Nursing Home for Mum to live. Thank you.
It was a big move for our aunt to leave her home and go into a nursing home but from the day we met the deputy manager and staff at Singleton we knew she would be welcomed, listened to and cared for. In fact, we all were as a family. The staff were very accommodating of her requests, making the transition from home easier and were supportive throughout her stay. Her room was lovely, bright, clean and able to accommodate all that she wanted and needed. The care our aunt received was excellent; any issues were quickly acted upon and everything the staff could do to make her feel less anxious was done with a smile and a willingness to do the best they could at all times. When it became apparent that she needed end-of-life care the communication was excellent and the care was everything we hoped and believed it would be. They were so gentle with her, professional throughout and ensured she was comfortable. They made a difficult time so much easier and we will be forever grateful.
My dad went to Singleton from hospital for end-of-life care. The whole team were so welcoming and the care and support he and my family received was exceptional.
My mum was a resident for two and a half years. She was very well looked after and enjoyed all her activities, which were varied. She made lots of friends and enjoyed all her meals. All the staff are very caring. The home has a very happy atmosphere. My mum's final moments were calm and well cared for.
Having moved my relative from a totally poor care home to Singleton due to nursing requirements, the outcome is amazing. She now feels safe, and it is great to see a smile on her face again. No longer is she placed in a corner in front of a TV and basically ignored all day.
From the moment I contacted Singleton Nursing and Residential Home regarding some respite care for my mum, the manager, assistant manager and all the team dealt with me in a professional, kind manner. They also cared for my mum in a gentle, respectful way. I would recommend Singleton Nursing and Residential Home for the care of an elderly parent or relative to anyone.
My mum was admitted from the hospital, where she had received mediocre care. She was welcomed and reassured all her necessary personal items were put in place. It was obvious she was dying. The end-of-life care she received was excellent. She was always symptom controlled. The family were welcomed at all times and kept informed of events. The staff, two in particular, were always empathetic, making a potentially bad experience a supportive tolerable one.
I cannot thank you enough for making Mum's last days so comfortable. All of you always treated Mum with kindness and compassion, and nothing was too much trouble for you. My sister and I were more than impressed by the way you treated us when we came to visit. Always keeping us in the "loop2 with kindness and generosity. Thank you again.
From the minute we contacted the manager at the nursing home, she welcomed us. The care from all the staff was first class, and we couldn't have wished more for our mum. She was treated like a Queen, and nothing was too much trouble for anything she needed. I would highly recommend Singleton Nursing.
My mother was in Singleton Nursing and Residential Home from March 21 to December 22. Throughout her stay, all the staff worked hard as a team to deliver the best service possible. The words that best describe the team are professional, caring, patient, compassionate and empathetic, ensuring dignity and, last but not least, fun. At the end of her life, they worked hard to ensure that Mum passed away peacefully with me by her side. I cannot thank them enough for taking such good care of my very precious mother.
My mother was very reluctant to go into a care home when the time came. After her first day, all worries disappeared. The staff made her feel at ease. Nothing was too much trouble. They kept us informed as to her care and condition every step of the way. Not once did the smiles slip from their faces, even during difficult times. Thank you all for the way my mother was treated with dignity to the end. You also all eased our sorrow as a family. Just a great shame her last journey at the care home has to be indignantly in a small lift.
We have been more than happy with the care my relative received at Singleton Nursing and Residential Home. Since moving into Singleton, eighteen months ago, he really thrived. The improvement in his physical and mental well-being was obvious. The care and kindness shown by all the staff were a joy. The place was always clean, and no smells of cabbage and wee!
Compassion, respect, dignity, worth, caring and professional. Singleton care home is above and beyond all expectations. The care is exemplary, not just the nursing and care staff, domestic, kitchen and maintenance. My father went to Singleton frail and was expected to be end-of-life. In their care, he "thrived" and began eating and conversing. "Thank you" simply doesn't appear to be enough to express my deepest gratitude for making his last days happy and safe.
When my mother moved into Singleton Nursing home in the summer of 2020 at the age of 99, it was clearly a major upheaval in her life. However, from the very start, the staff and management were extremely welcoming, which quickly put my mother at ease. Throughout her time at Singleton Nursing home, the staff and carers were fantastic, ensuring her final years were extremely fulfilling. I cannot speak too highly of the team at Singleton Nursing home. Placing a close relative into care is never easy. However, the staff at Singleton Nursing home are amazing, and neither I nor my mother had any reason whatsoever to think we hadn't made the right choice. I will always be grateful for everything they did.
My mum has been at Singleton care home for four years now. It is well run and has a very good caring and good team. My mum is very happy there.
