View Full Details of Heatherdale Nursing HomeCould not have wished for better care for my dad. Everyone was so kind and supportive. Thank you.
My mother was in Heatherdale for 20 months and the care and kindness shown by everyone was excellent. I can honestly say that I couldn't find fault, the food was good and the home was spotless and they were kept entertained. They went the extra mile. Thank you.
My mum has just passed away after being at the home for 20 months. She was welcomed as was our family, and my mum was extremely happy and settled and enjoyed her life at Heather Dale. The staff are all absolutely amazing, kind and friendly and went the extra mile for my mum and us, also activities were fantastic too. I think the home deserves an outstanding from CQC. Thank you, Heather Dale.
My mother has been cared for here for the past year. Her care is excellent. She took a long time to settle but has had sympathetic encouragement from staff and now seems very settled and happily talks about activities they do. Mum's favourite is bingo. All staff are friendly and welcoming. I personally cannot fault the care here, all staff are happy and the place is well-managed.
My father was placed into palliative care at Heather Dale. At all times she was treated with dignity and respect. My family and I will be forever grateful for the care that he received. Although I do not remember everyone's names they all played their part in his care. Special thanks to the manager and night nurse. Thank you.
Dad was only in Heather Dale Nursing Home for a short while. During that time he was treated with kindness, and respect and given the very best care. My family and I were made to feel very welcome when we visited no matter what time of day or night it was. We were supported by the nursing staff throughout the palliative care/end-of-life treatment. Dad passed away peacefully and in no pain. We would not hesitate in recommending Heather Dale Nursing Home to others. We were so impressed with everything and everyone.
My mother was admitted to Heather Dale in November 2023. She was treated with the utmost respect and care at all times by the entire team.
My mother has been a resident for over a year and I have only asked for her to be looked at a few times when she has been agitated or uncomfortable in her bed.
My mum has been in Heatherdale Nursing Home for 7 and a half years and I’m very happy with the care that she has received. I know that she is safe and well looked after. The carers that have been there since my mum arrived have been the best at keeping me updated and it’s nice to see familiar faces. The entertainment that’s arranged each day definitely keeps the residents motivated. I hope the home continues with the high standards.
I am very satisfied with the care my husband is getting here at Heather Dale Nursing Home. More insight is what has happened to his braid as well as his body after having a stroke.
Heather Dale is an excellent nursing home. The staff are friendly and caring and do their utmost for her. When my wife first went there she was very ill, but through the care and attention that she has been given, she has made a remarkable recovery. There are plenty of well-run activities and opportunities to socialise throughout the week. She also has a good degree of autonomy which is beneficial to her. Communication between staff and family is excellent and the home is welcoming and friendly. I feel reassured that my wife is in such a caring home and I know that the family appreciate all that is being done for her.
I am happy with the care that my dad is receiving from all the varied staff members. He has improved so much health wise and he is socialising more than when he was at home. My family are so pleased with the improvement of my dad's health and it was the best decision for my dad and he enjoys being at Heather Dale. There has been lots of improvements at Heather Dale which have have been nice to see. The healthcare team work hard and our family appreciates it.
Communal Lounge - Residents left unattended for long periods. Most were not mobile so unable to reach the call alarm on the wall. My mother had to shout for help if she wanted aid, this labelled her disruptive. Activities - Rare. Entertainment - Limited, apart from TV. Carers - Some were very kind, others were not. Mum had lost mobility. She frequently needed the toilet, some carers showed it was a nuisance for them. The wait for assistance was often 30 minutes or much longer which was distressing for Mum and she was made to feel an inconvenience. She told me ‘just because I’m old they think I have no feelings’. She deteriorated, I often found her confused and nervously grinding her jaw. After 7 months Mum moved to a better care home, she improved dramatically! Within a week she was walking again with a frame and was even able to visit the toilet by herself! Mum was no longer confused or anxious, she regained her dignity and quality of life. I wish she had moved away from Heather Dale sooner.
My family and I bless the day we found this nursing home. We had looked at 8 others and just felt each one was not up to the standard that we wanted for our Mum. Mums health deteriorated very quickly mentally and psychically but Heather Dale's excellent care and understanding made this so much easier to deal with. The carers and nursing staff could not have been more caring and devoted to our Mum than if she had been their mother. Mums dignity was totally respected and they would lovingly talk to Mum about anything she wanted to converse about. Everyone from the manager, the cook, carers and cleaners, would pop in and have a chat and spend a bit of time with her. Someone from the family would visit daily so we were able to see at all times what a wonderful nursing home this is. I have nothing but high regard for all the staff for their time and care spent with Mum. Thank you, everyone.
I would like to say that the care, attention given to my mother while she was at Heather Dale was excellent. Carried out in a professional manner by all members of staff who were all very caring in the way that they all worked to make her very comfortable. All staff were very helpful at all times nothing was too much trouble for them we were always made welcome when we visited. Always kept informed by the staff including the nursing team at the home of all her care and treatment. I would recommend this nursing home. Score 10 out of 10
Thank you for the care given to my brother in law. I know what a difficult character he is! Also, he has certain mental problems which you have tried hard to address with a good degree of patience. Although he is never satisfied with his lot in life, and therefore is unlikely to thank you himself, we at least understand your difficulties and thank you for finding alternative accommodation for him.
