View Full Details of Abbeycrest Nursing HomeMy mother settled in easily and soon made friends with residents and staff. Mum's health improved vastly over her 4 week respite stay and I can't thank the staff enough for their kindness and support.
Today was Valentine's Day. The lounges, dining rooms and reception areas had been adorned with such colourful and artistic decorations relevant to this day inlcuding rose petals and red roses on the tables. The activities lady had requested special delicious Valentine's cakes and refreshments to be served with suitable music being played in the background. It was a very happy afternoon for the residents.
I just think the staff and management are amazing and can't thank them enough for looking after my wife so wonderfully. Abbycrest is more like a hotel rather than a nursing home. I just can't fault it.
Truly couldn't imagine mum living anywhere else. She is so settled at Abbey Crest, fits in well as part of the floor she lives on. Mum is very well looked after and her needs fully understood. Abbey Crest should be very proud of their well deserved reputation!
We love this place! Nurses and carers are so attentive and friendly. They remember our names and preferences and are always there with a smile. The food is absolutely delicious, Mum loves having a three-course meal at lunchtime - 'just like a hotel'! Thanks to the chef! The manager has been brilliant, Mum loves her! From start to finish the whole experience has reassured and comforted me, she's in very good hands.
I'm very happy with Abbeycrest Nursing Home. We couldn't have found a better place for my lovely Mum to see out her time on this earth. Wonderful, friendly, attentive, efficient staff. Can't fault the place. Managed excellently. I would like the option to use the stairs rather than the lift but I understand why they are staff use only.
Abbeycrest Nursing Home is a friendly home-from-home environment where my mother has settled into her life after being independent in her own home. The conscientious staff see to all of her needs but also find the time to do the little things - nails, putting rollers in her hair that give her great pleasure. There are activities every day, in which she participates, this makes her life fuller than when she was living at home supported by family and carers. We find her relaxed and real moments of contentment with her allow us to be daughters rather than carers.
After being a resident at Abbeycrest for well over four years, my mother is now entering a phase where she has very challenging health issues, which necessitate round-the-clock care and attention. I am more than satisfied she is receiving that care and attention. My mother has been very happy at Abbeycrest and the team there has been very kind and conscientious. It has been a very pleasurable experience to have such a good relationship with all the team who work together very well and exhibit so much patience.
My dearest mum-in-law had a fall whilst at home which then resulted in her being taken to hospital where we found out that her diagnosis was much more threatening than just a start of dementia. She has been finally transferred to Abbeycrest which had the specialised care our mum needed. My mom-in-law's illness started to deteriorate quickly, the staff devoted time and extraordinary care. We were able to visit and stay with Mum every day, any time of the day. I have learnt so much from the nurses about end-of-life care and what it entails and when Mum fell asleep for the last time, they made the whole process so much more painless for her and for us. I would recommend this nursing home to anyone who is in desperate search of exceptional care for their dearest. I truly believe that this place is a hidden treasure. I would like to shout to the world to come and see how wonderful it is and the nurses who always hold the care for your loved ones paramount.
Having made the decision to move my mother into a care home, I was forensic in my research as to the home that would best suit her needs in terms of nursing care and day-to-day interaction and stimulation. I requested an initial respite stay for Mum in order for both she and Abbeycrest to assess mutual suitability. I am pleased to say that Mum is now settled at Abbeycrest on a permanent basis and the team there have been incredibly flexible in order to accommodate Mum's and my wishes. We have been able to move in a number of Mum's favourite items from home which have been an absolute game changer in terms of helping her feel at home. The nursing and administrative care is second to none. There is a warm and upbeat atmosphere at the home and they have found an excellent balance between allowing residents to retain their independence, their self-respect and privacy whilst ensuring that they are well cared for. We are grateful for all that has been done for my mother.
Had such a wonderful experience with this home. Immediately on viewing the home was made to feel supported and welcomed at this very difficult time - the staff are very professional and caring and nothing is too much trouble for the residents and the families- would highly recommend.
A great experience all round with great communication and a feeling of continuous care and a safe place for Mum in her hour of need.
My Mum has lived at Abbeycrest for over 3 years and took time to settle. She is completely settled and very happy. The love and care from the kind and beautiful staff have made her relaxed. Which makes me happy knowing this. Thank you all for everything you do. You're all truly amazing.
I am so happy to be living at Abbeycrest. The care and kindness of the staff is making my life easy. Which makes my daughter's life stress free. Knowing that I am being so well looked after. Would highly recommend Abbeycrest Care Home.
The staff are amazing at Abbeycrest and try to take the time to ensure the residents are well cared for and enable them to take part in activities and events, The food festival and dog show are a fantastic idea, integrating the home with the local residents.
All the staff are absolutely wonderful. I couldn't have chosen anywhere better for my husband, we are extremely happy that he is residing at Abbeycrest Nursing Home, it is a wonderful place. The daily activities keep his mind active. The food is absolutely delicious. The rooms are extremely comfortable.
Brilliant care service, staff happy and there to help. Lovely and clean, entertainment twice a day. Transportation is available. Outside area/garden safe and relaxing rooms always spotless, easy visiting parking.
My cousin moved into Abbeycrest from his own bungalow across the road. Having lived alone all his life and being of a very independent nature, this was a huge lifestyle change for him. I am extremely grateful to the staff for helping him adjust to this change. They offered person-centred care, enabling him to return to the bungalow in the afternoon to meet a friend for as long as he was able. When his health deteriorated they were kind and compassionate and together with nurses from a particular charity they managed his care well. As I didn't live near they also made sure I was aware of what was happening, and were welcoming when we visited. Thank you Abbeycrest.
All the staff, especially the carers, look after the residents very well. Medical care is good and if the residents need a service such as an optician or chiropodist it is provided. Residents are cared for very well.
Since my wife's admission to the nursing home in April 2024, all along the staff have provided excellent care for her. Unfortunately she has a terminal condition and in the period where she did improve she was fully supported by the staff in getting out of bed and eating by herself. Unfortunately all of this progress has been reversed over the last month due to the progress of the tumour she has. Staff know me on a first-name basis and provide updates on my wife's condition when I request it.
